Comments about Teavana Hobnail Cast Iron Teapot:

I received this teapot as a gift. I have followed the care instructions and I have used it 4 times since I got it on Christmas. The inside coating is peeling away and flaking into my tea. When I contacted Teavana about the inside peeling away they said sorry it's past the 60 days. So unless you want paint/ enamel in your tea I'd look for a different teapot. Very disappointed.

Use every day for 7+ years!

Comments about Teavana Hobnail Cast Iron Teapot:

I have had this tea pot for about 7 years now and use it almost every day. I'm obsessed! I came back to this page so I could recommend it to a friend. It is so easy to maintain (I'm not the best at staying on top of cleaning and it takes the abuse) and keeps the tea warm.

Comments about Teavana Hobnail Cast Iron Teapot:

I love, love, LOVE my Hobnail cast iron tea pot! It's so cute...keeps the tea hot...everything came in just as described and in 3 days! The 22oz. is perfect for my big mug and for a friend to have tea too. I did purchase it when it was on sale but would've def. paid full price. I would've just had to wait a little longer. Can't wait to get a smaller pot for my office!!

No replacement parts sold

Comments about Teavana Hobnail Cast Iron Teapot:

The mesh baskets was accidentally destroyed. They don't sell a replacement basket so the pot is not nearly as useful. They should sell the basket separately as a replacement part.

great set

Comments about Teavana Hobnail Cast Iron Teapot:

My fiancé gave me this set for Christmas and it is perfect for my needs. Keeps my tea warm and has a beautiful and simple finish. I am so happy with it. As long as you know how to take care of cast-iron (which I do!) it should last a long time!

GORGEOUS but has a few issues

Comments about Teavana Hobnail Cast Iron Teapot:

My second cast iron from Teavana, the quality and heft of this is outstanding and well worth the price (I purchased on sale for almost half off). However there are a few draw backs, the lid does not have a hole in it as is common for other teapots (such as porcelain or ceramic ones) and so the tea does not pour as smoothly as it should and instead dribbles down the spout which I'm sure despite my careful wiping will eventually lead to rust. The second issue is that without the strainer inside (and even with it) the lid has a habit of sliding around and with this style of teapot where it is imperative to hold both the handle and the lid to prevent it from falling off, the oddly fitting lid allows water to splash out of it and slides around while pouring (also affecting the pour from the spout causing it to be even less smoother). Also the little knob on the lid also gets quite hot making it hard to hold and needing for it to cool down until it isn't scalding hot.
Aside from these faults and making a bit of a mess I still quite like this pot, it's very stylish (albeit does look quite like a kettle considering the design which looks a bit out of place when you're drinking tea) and seems to be good quality especially for the price I purchased it for however I would not recommend purchasing this teapot for full price as there is better quality out there.
If you are impatient like me, I would recommend using the Uma cups or any other glass cups with this set as i find the glass helps rapidly cool the tea to a drinkable temperature than how hot it gets in the teapot which is very very hot!!

Comments about Teavana Hobnail Cast Iron Teapot:

This is a beautiful teapot. The enamel on the inside keeps the interior from rusting--which can be a problem with cast iron. The outside must have great protection too, because no rust there either. Keeps my tea hot for leisurely drinking. Great-looking and useful. I highly recommend!

Defective product and customer service

By James

from Los Angeles

Comments about Teavana Hobnail Cast Iron Teapot:

Arrived without the handle attached and since cast-iron is not particularly bendable, it will fit in one hole or the other but not both. Customer service is zero help so I am returning and purchasing elsewhere.
