High floral top note with smooth, mellow body with a subtle buttery finish
We are proud to offer one of the rarest teas in the world; our limited edition yellow tea direct from China. The name ‘yellow’ tea refers not only to the unique processing and the lovely, bright golden infusion color, but due to its rarity it is also associated with the imperial yellow worn exclusively by emperors for centuries. Unlike any tea you have tasted before, at first sip it evokes the exquisite pleasure of everyday luxuries. Captivating high floral notes mingle with a smooth honeyed body and a subtle creamy, buttery finish. A perfectly balanced tea curated just for you.

wonderful tea for relaxing

By AANY

from Cold Spring Harbor, NY

Comments about Teavana Golden Dragon Yellow Tea:

My favorite tea after work. Love the subtle green tea taste with white tea feeling. The smooth honeyed body and the beautiful golden color is very satisfying. Plus, it can brew some many cups without losing the flavor.

Rare and amazing-even if it's too expensive!

Comments about Teavana Golden Dragon Yellow Tea:

I steep this tea at 175F/ 80C for 2-3 minutes and it comes out perfectly.

When I first noticed it in store the sales woman told me that it steeps delicately like a white tea, but has a fuller flavor and body like a black tea. Since I was curious and it was so expensive I only got the minimum 2oz at the time- but what a find!

Though perhaps with a more medium body than full, the flavor is wonderful and buttery. I tend to drink green or white teas with very mild floral or fruity notes and only drink black tea when I need a caffeine boost in the morning. This tea is light enough for me to enjoy in the afternoon or evening but its unique flavor makes it stand out from the crowd.

All that being said, I do think this tea is rather expensive--but Teavana is also the only place I've found that sales Yellow Tea at this time and I have visited many tea shops/sellers in several countries to explore varieties of tea. Granted, I have not traveled to China, I do not know if this tea can be purchased for a cheaper price there. But, as I don't live in China, this does indeed appear to be one of the rarest teas.
If Teavana was willing to sale it for a cheaper price I would be delighted, but even if they don't I will still be purchasing it (just in smaller amounts).

Comments about Teavana Golden Dragon Yellow Tea:

When they said it was a cross between a white and a green, they weren't kidding. This is in a category of it's own. I brew it in a small (gung fu) teapot. You're more inclined to savor the flavor that way. Also, it lends itself to multiple infusions; I easily get 7. If the flavor on it's own doesn't cut it for you, I recommend doing a 1 to 1 ratio with Dragonfruit Devotion. I converted someone who said they hated this tea by making that blend. They now love it~

Not sure why this is so expensive

By Slick Williams

from Santa Monica, CA

Comments about Teavana Golden Dragon Yellow Tea:

At the price they're selling this tea, you'd think it was the cream of the crop of all teas. Well, it's not, but it's a pretty decent brew. The tea flavor is smooth and a bit savory. It almost tastes closer to black tea rather than green or white. Admittedly I'm not really sure what yellow tea is supposed to taste like, but this one is pretty agreeable to my palate. I brew about 2 teaspoons at 175 degrees for 2-3 minutes and resteep about 3-4 times. Although I enjoy the flavor of this tea, I would not pay the full price for it (I bought it at half price). There are definitely better tasting teas here for less money (e.g. silver needle or gyokuro), so I would not really recommend buy this unless it's on sale.

Fantastic!

Comments about Teavana Golden Dragon Yellow Tea:

I love this tea! It is very soothing and it seems to really help with headaches. Not only does it taste good alone, it mixes well with many other teas. It blends well with white and oolong teas best. My favorite mixture is with the Orange Oolong. This tea is amazing!
