Ancient and revered, this exclusive pearl-shaped white tea was reserved for the Imperial Chinese aristocracy. Once a well-guarded secret, the rare Silver Needle tea is a masterpiece to tea aficionados. The Greastes of all the Teas

By Protostar

from Rockaway, NJ

Comments about Teavana Silver Yin Zhen Pearls White Tea:

By far and personally, this is the greatest of all the teas. I have several cups of theses a day and feel so great after each one. For SYZP, the best time is 3 min. It's stronger then the average White Tea but in the end, it's still a white tea so be careful. Also, it's a great blender to ANY of the other teas since it has a light silky flavor; especially if all you want are the benefits from it. It has alot of cafeen so it's great for the morning, allot of antioxidants do its great for your system. Lastly, don't forget to resteep this one! It's a heavy tea so you honestly get about 15 8oz. cups from it. However, resteeping the tea will get you an additional 3-5 cups worth for each time you steep it. This tea is absolutely incredible and unmatched by any other tea when it comes to benefits and grade.

Heaven Sent

Comments about Teavana Silver Yin Zhen Pearls White Tea:

Well, This is my new favorite! This tea was recommended to me by a Teavana Manager at my local store, and it is wonderful to the taste, and alters my state to a relaxed yet energetic self. I love that! I mix this tea with other oolongs and herbals, and also use organic Hawaiian flavored honey with it and it is second to NONE! I've never brewed this bitter, but keep to 175 degrees with a steep time of 4 minutes first steep, 4-1/2 minutes second and third steeps, and 5 minutes for the fourth steep. I've also used this the next day and the flavor is still very good with beneficial effects.

Comments about Teavana Silver Yin Zhen Pearls White Tea:

OK, after reading many reviews, I can clearly see that most do not steep this tea properly. I have been drinking it daily for 3 years or so. I use 3 teaspoons (maybe more like 3 1/3) for 16 oz. of water. I bring the water to 180 degrees (I do NOT preheat the pot) and steep it for 4 min. I steep it for 4 min. the next steep. Then 5 min., then 7 min. I find after the forth steep the tea is done. You will be surprised at how good the 5 min. can be if it is the next day. This tea is the only tea that has the most physical effect on me, really relaxes you but at the same time keeps you really alert. One warning, it has some caffeine, so do not drink at night if you are sensitive to caffeine while trying to go to sleep.

Comments about Teavana Silver Yin Zhen Pearls White Tea:

This is a really, really good version of silver needle. And silver needle is my favorite white tea. It's extremely subtle and light with a soft, buttery mouth feel. It would be criminal to sully this gorgeous tea with sugar or any other flavors. Let its purity shine through, and don't steep it too hot or too long. This tea is a gem and should be treated with respect.

If you like white tea this is the tea you want. I bought it because I thought the name was cool and then once I got to smell it I knew I was in Tea heaven. It was so wonderful I knew I had to buy some. I drink it all the time just on it's own it is good with blending but it is just as good on it's own. I love it I have never had a better pure white tea. It is hard to describe but I love this one so much I don't like to share with this one with friends.

Comments about Teavana Silver Yin Zhen Pearls White Tea:

It's a great tea and I feel the pearls are much more fresh and can even be re-brewed more than the silver needle. The trick to making sure it does not turn out bitter is to make sure you do not brew in overly hot water and PRESOAK the pearls in about an ounce of room temp water while you are heating up your tea water. Soaking the tea leaves keeps them from being shocked by hot water and will keep the better elements out of your drink.

Comments about Teavana Silver Yin Zhen Pearls White Tea:

I had high hopes for this tea. After the first cup, I couldn't quite place the flavor. It was a little dingy, smelled a little off, and had an odd after taste. That's when I realized it - it tastes like dirty dish water. I thought it was my cup and kettle, so I washed them out and made a second cup. Same dirty flavor. So I used a different method to make it, and it still tastes like dirty dish water. I'm extremely disappointed in this tea.

Comments about Teavana Silver Yin Zhen Pearls White Tea:

The Silver Yin Zhen Pearls are one of the best teas to come from Teavana, the only problem with it is their brewing instructions for it.

White tea is extremely delicate and requires some experience to brew. I brew it at 160 degrees for around 4 minutes TOPS. This tea can become much more bitter than expected and loses its wonderful flavor if made incorrectly. I also only use 1 tsp for 8 oz and not 1.5. This tea is easy to rebrew, just increase the time required by 1 minute.

              Best of luck!
