I love Jeju Island green tea!

Comments about Teavana Jeju Island Green Tea:

I use 2-2 1/2 tsp. of tea leaves for 16 oz. of water. It has the best flavor when steeped for 2 min. I like to use the Perfectea Maker. It has a bold & bitter flavor that mimics the flavor of most looseleaf green teas in Asia. It's delicious and refreshing.

Needs mastering

By Jessenia

from King of Prussia, PA

Comments about Teavana Jeju Island Green Tea:

I liked the aroma, before I couldn't stand the "sea weed" first hit of green teas, with this tea I learned to close my eyes and just breath it in!

It can be very unforgiving, if steeped for longer than 2 mins it can be very bitter...
If using 175 temp on your second brew it can come out very week.

I messed up my first 4 cups trying to master it for a perfect cup. Its a complicated brewing process but once you got it you will enjoy all its notes and under tones. It's a tea to let it sit in your mouth for at least 2 seconds before passing it down, it must be tasted!

Bottom line, first brew no more than 3 minutes...
2nd brew 190 F for 2 mins..
3rd cup ... I haven't try a 3rd, I don't think you would get a decent cup of tea after the 2nd one... Can't be brew 3 to 5 times at it says.

If someone can get the maximum brew out of this tea please share.

So smooth and delicious

By Count Montego

from Miami, FL

Comments about Teavana Jeju Island Green Tea:

This is a Tea I was not expecting to find at Teavana. I heard about Jeju Volcanic Island since my wife gets her cosmetics from a company that has it's private Green Tea fields for this purpose....I found how hard it was to get this tea, so I am pleased to say how smooth and delicious this tea is. Do not under estimate it, it is potent. I would definitely recommend it. Enjoy!

Great Tea!

By chelseabeann

from Toronto, ON

Comments about Teavana Jeju Island Green Tea:

I am not usually a fan of any green tea except ones that have jasmine in them, but this tea is exceptional. The smell can be a little off putting since it does have a very strong vegetal scent, but do not let that deter you!! The tasting notes are perfect...not too weak but not too strong either and you can really taste the nuttiness of the chestnuts in the finish. However, be careful not to steep it too long because it can become slightly bitter. Play around with the amounts and the steeping time to figure out what works for you, but I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed with this tea

Similar to Japanese tamaryokucha

By Chad - Tulsa

from Tulsa, OK

Comments about Teavana Jeju Island Green Tea:

I've been curious about trying Korean tea for some time, now, and discovered my local Teavana selling this. I could tell by the shape that it would be my preferred style for green tea, as I like curly teas the best. I knew that, because of its latitude and processing style it would taste similar to Japanese tamaryokucha, a personal favorite of mine. The resulting liquor is satisfactory, although not the best I've had. It's a little lighter bodied, and less offensive than tamaryokucha. Perhaps, a result of the fact that this tea is a little aged, which is to be expected in late January. It has very faint dry leaf aroma, and the scent reminds me of plastic. However, fortunately, this doesn't harm the prepared tea. Freshness is critical for green teas, and a little age does mellow them out a bit, but sometimes this is preferable. Personally, I prefer the fresh vegetal flavor, and this tea is good, but a little on the lighter side, for me. Price was slightly high for the level of quality, but this is to be expected from a national chain placed in the local mall. I would recommend it as an alternative to better quality tea, if someone were in a pinch, as I was, and forced into buying from a local source. Not a bad purchase, but not the best, either. Overall, satisfactory, and met with my expectations.

Great tea!

By Monalogue

from Walla Walla, WA

Comments about Teavana Jeju Island Green Tea:

I wanted a nice plain good quality green tea and this was perfect. It's not too strong or too "alfalfa-y" like some green teas, but is very mild and light. It brews easily without fuss and is delicious.

Comments about Teavana Jeju Island Green Tea:

This is one of my favorite green teas and it's truly delicious on ice. I usually get three good steeps out of each preparation and ice at least one of them.

I've noticed with this tea that you have to be extra careful with your steeping time. If you steep longer than a minute on the first steep, some bitterness starts to show up in the aftertaste.

Overall, this is a wonderful tea.

Comments about Teavana Jeju Island Green Tea:

This tea was recommended to me by the employee at the Teavana branch at Ontario Mills. He said it was his favorite so I thought it must be good. The aroma of the tea was great. I like green teas with an herbal scent. The taste was great as well. Tasting my first cup, I thought it was too similar to Sencha. I wanted to tell the difference so I brewed a cup of Sencha to compare and I found the Jeju Green Tea has its own distinctive taste yet shares the herb-like quality of Sencha. You could really taste the chestnut-like tones in the Jeju Island Green Tea. It is also full-bodied, having a stronger and more vivid taste than Sencha.

It is a green tea that I would have to ration or else I'd run out of it fast.
