    I LOVE this tea!

By Enjoying life's trails with my horse

Comments about Teavana Darjeeling de Triomphe Tea:

I bought this tea looking for a great tasting caffeinated breakfast black tea. To my surprise this tea has a lot of green tea characteristics, but with floral aroma and aftertaste. I wasn't looking for this, but I have come to really love this tea. Once you get past the fact that this isn't like any dargeeling tea you will have likely tasted before, you'll find this tea utterly amazing. It probably helps that I'm a green tea fan also. But it's the best "green tea" I've ever had. This has become a permanent part of my tea assortment I can't live without.

Comments about Teavana Darjeeling de Triomphe Tea:

I used a small Perfecta scoop of this tea along with 2 overflowing Perfecta scoops of rock sugar and this tea was still very strong! I like strong, flavorful teas but this was a little much. It was pretty much 1 overwhelming flavor, couldn't even taste any of the sugar I added. I would recommend using a very small amount of this tea and mixing it with at least 1 other tea and probably some sugar or honey too. I would recommend this tea because it's not that it's bad it's just really strong so be prepared for that when you drink it.

    My Personal Favorite

    By Sally

    from Georgia

Comments about Teavana Darjeeling de Triomphe Tea:

It's a bit expensive, but well worth it since just a couple of ounces will last for quite a while. The flavor is more like that of a green tea with a slightly floral scent, but it still has the caffeine pick-me-up of a black tea. I generally drink mine hot with a little sugar, but it's still tastes good cold.

Green (really a green-black blend), NOT black tea

    By Cassie

    from Moorpark, CA

Comments about Teavana Darjeeling de Triomphe Tea:

Don't be thinking you're going to cut it with some sort of milk, as you could with other black teas. It's mostly a green tea (a green-black blend) and is to be taken straight, hot or cold. It's good, but it's not like any darjeeling I ever had. Even making a strong brew results in a light-ish colored drink. It's expensive too, of course. It would be good for making kombucha tea, but, as a traditional darjeeling, it's disappointing.

    Pricey, but worth it!

    By Samantha

Comments about Teavana Darjeeling de Triomphe Tea:

It has a wonderful flavor with a light floral scent. To me it tastes more like a green tea than a black, so if you're not a green tea fan this might not be the tea for you.

Comments about Teavana Darjeeling de Triomphe Tea:

What else can be said about this tea. I was talked into trying it by a worker at my local Teavana who is very familiar with me and what teas I normally buy so he always knows what to recommend when I come in. I use the one-touch tea maker from Breville and I would never make this tea without it, like others said it does look like a green tea but true to black tea standards if brewed to hot or steeped to long it will be bitter.. 165 degree for 4 mins is the perfect time I have found for this tea

Comments about Teavana Darjeeling de Triomphe Tea:

When I first saw this tea, I was expecting a black color. I saw that it was a slightly green-gray color. I tasted it, and it was amazing; so I took home about 5 ounces. Kind of pricey, but it was well worth it. I did some research on Darjeeling and why the color was off, and surprisingly, Teavana has a very high grade of Darjeeling from the 1st flush (meaning, being picked in the Spring season). Since it was from the 1st flush, for Darjeeling, it has a slight green-gray color compared to Summer (2nd flush with a purple-brown shade), and Autumn teas will have the blackish-brown hue to them. Agreeing with Sean in the previous reviews, he's right about the grades of tea. I've had some good Orange Pekoe, but with Teavana's Darjeeling being at the highest grade, it is WELL worth the price.

In other words, if you like a deep, earthy, black tea, this one isn't for you.

Although the Darjeeling De Triomphe is pricey compared to other teas, it is well worth it. I find that it mixed well with Peachberry Jasmine Sutra or Youthberry. I prefer it iced and with rock sugar but tastes great hot too. Generous teaspoons are key!

Comments about Teavana Darjeeling de Triomphe Tea:

We received this as a gift. I immediately made cups for the family following instructions on the bag to the letter. All commented that it was too weak. Over the last year I have sampled almost 40 different black and green teas, carefully following preparation instructions. For this tea, I experimented with longer steeping time, differing water temperature and 50% more tea leaves to no avail--the tea remained very weak.
