Comments about Teavana Snow Geisha® White Tea:

This isn't white tea. This is a green tea with a few silver needles mixed in. You can tell immediately by the flavor that it's a green tea. It's bitter. It has enough caffeine in it to get my heart thump-thumping like a rabbit before I'm even halfway through my first cup. This annoys me, because I thought I was buying a white tea, and I was mislead. But because the price is commensurate with their good green teas, I at least don't feel swindled. But I don't particularly care for the astringency and tannins of bitter green teas like this one.

My wife and I tried this tea for the first time and wish we hadn't waited so long - it has quickly become one of our favourites. 100 seconds to brew, and perfect by itself or with a nice almond biscuit. Adding a drop of honey is makes this just perfect!

Comments about Teavana Snow Geisha® White Tea:

I went outside of my comfort zone of traditional teas, Oolongs, blacks, Japanese greens etc... and tried out this flavored tea. It was alright, but very much so not to my tastes. I left a relatively high rating because I don't think the tea is bad in and of itself, but it is definitely not converting me to flavored teas.

I brewed the tea in a white porcelain teapot and drank it from a mug. I suspect most of the people upset about the bitterness of this tea brewed it far too hot. The base tea is a white tea, and its flavor is highly dependent on the temperature of the water in which it is brewed. As a general rule, each time boiling water heats a container, it drops by 10 degrees. To get the temp of the water down to about 80 degrees as suggested, I first poured boiling water into my mug, then into a second cup, then finally into the pre-heated pot with the tea. One can just as easily pour water into a cup, then into a cold pot, then add tea. After brewing for a bit longer than one minute, the tea was very aromatic with an apricot hue. There was no bitterness. I did not use sugar.

I found the aroma overwhelmed the tea a bit, although comparing side by side, I detected some of the champagne-like aroma I get from Teavana's silver needle white tea. The tea has a lingering, slightly tart aftertaste and I found it mildly astringent. I think it would be a good palate cleanser.

I, personally, did not care for the flavor. Like others have stated, I found it a bit too close to chap stick for my liking. It also reminds me of the very artificial tasting flavors added to vodka. I didn't realize until I looked at the online listing that this tea has some sort of artificial flavoring, it really tastes like it, to me.

Overall, I'd recommend it for entertaining. It's dramatic and even a bit romantic and the lingering aroma isn't as overpowering as it is in the cup. I'd almost say this tea might be better with a touch of milk, but I worry that it completely wipe out the already delicate flavor of the white tea.

Comments about Teavana Snow Geisha® White Tea:

This tea SMELLS WONDERFUL. It is difficult to brew in that if you brew it just a tad too long, it has a very bitter following. If you brew it just right, it is amazing. 2 minutes is just a bit too long to brew. Perhaps 1.5 minutes. Sometimes adding a bit more water and rock sugar helps too...

This is a chill relaxing tea, but can be too bitter at times. I mixed this with youthberry and pineapple kona pop, and it was terrible. Waaaaay too bitter. I will not mix it with anything ever again; however, it is a decent tea to drink alone.

This is an interesting blend. A little bitter, but wonderful iced. It has a topnote of the cherries (not the sweet kind--like when you eat fresh cherries and get a bitter one that is still good) and a hit of bitter but ends with a silky white tea flavor. Not sure if I would buy again, but would recommend to others if they enjoy a slightly bitter cherry taste.

Comments about Teavana Snow Geisha® White Tea:

I, like many others I assume, purchased this tea solely off of smell while in the shop. It smells great, and I could not place what that familiar smell was. Later determined it was a rainbow candy cane! but the taste was more like the other reviews say: cough drops/ chapstick. I tried several different ways to brew this hot but it ALWAYS came out bitter. So I cold brewed it in my fridge for a few days and it was not bitter at all but the same medicine flavor lingered (less so when cold, but i tried to heat it to test it)... maybe i will try cutting the tea with another or by adding more cranberries or cherries. idk, but I purchased 2oz. so i will play around with it since i have it but if i cant make it work i will never purchase this tea again. (probably not even then)

Comments about Teavana Snow Geisha® White Tea:

I'm surprised by all the negative reviews. I love this tea and have had it as a regular in my cupboard for over a year. The key is to brew it like a delicate white tea. It's a must to brew it at 175 degrees or less and steep it for only a minute or two. If you brew it too hot, it will get bitter. If you brew it too long, the fruit flavor will become exaggerated and unpleasant. If you brew it as intended, it's a delight!

This tea makes me a bit sick to my stomach. I don't know if it is because of an ingredient or because it reminds me of being sick since it tastes just like cough drops or cold medicine. I hate to throw stuff away, but I might have to with this. Maybe the squirrels will like it though.
