Description

Opposites attract and travel famously together in this rooibos adventure inspired by the famed Singapore Sling cocktail. This tantalizing taste of tart, sweet, and creamy flavors is a nod to the past. Created by combining tart cranberry and cherry with sweet pineapple and orange and finished with vanilla, this concoction commingles the spirits. Coolest shaken over ice, or stirred and served hot.

Sweet pineapple blends with bright cherry and cranberry notes and smooth vanilla

This tea is very delicious and if you're looking to try a new tea but not spend a hefty amount this is the tea for you. The smell and flavor are strong but not overbearing. The smell is of a cranberry and light licorice smell. Although I thought I might not like it that much when I smelled it, as soon as I took the first sip I fell in love with it. It is flavorful with notes of cranberry, citrus and the very slightest spice. The color is of a dark bronze/red-brown color. The tea may be tart with no sugar but I used sugar in mine and it was perfect. This tea could be great for waking up in the morning because the smell and taste are generous in that aspect, but might not be best for winding down at night because the tea does wake up your senses. With the smell and taste combined, this tea is the best tea for fall with all of the harvest and slight spicy notes of autumn, something I really love.

There is something very off putting about this tea. As soon as I opened the package I was hit with a strong artificial medicinal smell. It was overpowering! I brewed up a cup, hoping it would taste better than it smelled. Unfortunately it didn't. It tasted almost exactly like a melted cherry cough drop. Not very pleasant. There were some good fruity notes, but they were overwhelmed by the medicinal flavor. I adore Teavana, but this particular tea needs some more work.

Smells amazing...but...

At first whiff this tea smells amazing, I can almost "taste" the berries. After making it both hot and cold I discovered for me that it is really bitter as an iced tea. As a hot tea it tasted better. I was debating whether to purchase more since it's on sale, but I saw the full list of ingredients and because of the "lemon crispies" in it and what that is made of I will not buy again. Here is the full list of ingredients:
Candied pineapple pieces (pineapple, sugar, citric acid), rooibos, apple pieces, hibiscus flowers, natural & artificial flavoring, juniper berries, carob pieces, citrus slices, citrus peels, cranberry pieces (cranberries, sugar, rice flour, sunflower oil), cherries, orange juice bits, cranberry slices, pineapple chips, vanilla pieces, lemon crispies (maltodextrin, lemon juice concentrate, sugar, distarch phosphate, sodium alginate, riboflavin).

Teavana if you read this please consider reducing some of these artificial and strange ingredients in your teas!!!

Hall's Cough Drops

It's pretty rare that I purchase a product and after one testing fight the urge to simply throw it out. This tea is one of them. It's bitter and medicinal, and the smell that comes out of the bag is straight up Hall's cough drops (it tastes like them, too). I tried adding more sweetener, I tried chilling it to see if maybe cold the flavors would be more mellow. They aren't. I'll likely be throwing out the entire bag.

On my last Teavana purchase, I added several new teas to my cart and this was one I'd been curious about for awhile. I like fruit-flavored teas, but not all of them are that great. This was a really interesting one, At first sniff, the smell is overpoweringly CHERRY! I worried it would just taste like Cherry Kool-Aid because of the scent. However, it brews up a nice dark red and mostly tastes like a very slightly spicy and very fruity drink. You do get the cranberry and cherry notes, there was not nearly enough Rooibos in the blend to call it a Rooibos. On the 2nd time I made this, I added Rooibos Tropica to the mix and it was quite good. Something about this tea reminds me of holidays and cool weather - feels like an Autumn/Winter blend. Like a non-alcohol Mulled Wine. Will keep it for the cool months :)

I love all things cranberries usually but this was just too much to swalow. I could barely drink it whether it be hot or cold. I just found it to be a little to much for me.

In the tin the cranberry scent was strong, but after I was made a cup iced it tasted exactly like original flavor bubblegum! I was in the mood for cranberry, but I liked it all the same.

When I first bought this, the smell hit me like "Whoa", but the taste is great. I don't like this very much hot, it's just too much. But it is great cold. I steep for about 8 minutes, and add a cube of sugar, and some orange juice (no pulp). I don't have a big problem with the smell, since I drink it with a straw...
I made a bag of this and sent it to my gram, and she loves it.
As my first teavana tea, I think its great!

This tea tasted exactly like a cough/cold/flu medicine. It is the WORST Teavna purchase I've ever had. I have never disliked a tea before. All you have to do is open the pouch and you'll think its full of cough drops.

Think it gets better after being brewed? Wrong, tastes like a nasty cough syrup taste. Apparently who ever put this concoction together has never been to a pharmacy.
