I've never ever been a Rooibos fan; I favor robust Blacks and strong Chais. However, when I saw Teavana release this tea and saw the unique ingredients, I was tempted to give this a try thinking there was a chance for this to be flavorful enough for me to hold up on its own. Boy, does it ever! Such a harmonious mix of complex and yummy flavors blending so smoothly: nutty, fruity, figgy, sweet...the aroma will knock your socks off, and each sip is more addting than the last. No sweetener is needed; this is naturally sweet. Steeped for 6 minutes at 212 and it was heavenly. Guessing that a second steep might be a bit bland with the chocolate melted away, I added an extra partial scoop of this, plus a partial scoop of plain Rooibos and just the smallest dollop of honey and a little less water. Steep two was still amazing, and I think the addition of a tiny bit of honey made the Honeybush flavor really sing. I bet this tea would mix wonderfully with Teavana's other Rooibos blends and several of their flavored blacks. I'll try this next with a splash of vanilla soy milk to see how a creamy blend tastes. Well, perhaps you've made me a Rooibos fan after all, Teavana...at least this one will be a new staple in my kitchen!

Overwhelmingly Perfumey
I tasted neither chocolate nor praline. It tasted like really strong perfume to mean and kind of had floral hints (which I do not enjoy). I will not purchase this tea again.

Reviews are highly subjective and one person's favorite tea may be another person's least. I tend to like light, fruity, sweet white teas or herbal infusions as well as the occasional green tea as long as it's not too earthy or vegetal tasting. I also like spicy teas such as a good cup of chai, as well as teas with cinnamon and/or vanilla. I tend to dislike robust black teas, anything that tastes like coffee, and anything with a floral smell and/or flavor. To give you a better understanding of why I didn't like this tea, here is how I have rated other teas:

You will either love or hate this tea. It really comes down to whether or not you like the taste/smell of figs with buttery undertones. This is likely the most unique of teas I have bought from Teavana and, by far, it is one of my favourites! Love it!

I LOVE THIS TEA! Although, I am on a strict diet and calories mean a lot to me at this time. I do wonder the calorie count on this tea and I wish Teavana would begin listing this nutritional fact, regardless of how minimal it may be in comparison to food. This tea is exactly as described and tastes JUST LIKE a WAWA latte...or at least it did to me! When the sales associate at my Teavana made this hot for me, the water hit the tea and filled the store with a great aroma...people automatically looked over and asked, "Is that chocolate?!"

I loved this tea. I love the hint of chocolate and the subtle vanilla flavor. Wonderful with an orange flavored cookie for a light evening or afternoon treat. Must take care to steep at the correct temperature and I would steep a bit longer to get a more full bodied taste. The taste is all about how much tea and how long to steep. I loved it!

I originally bought this tea to blend with one of my favorites (Toasted Nut Brulee), and it's quite interesting on its own. I find the flavor to be very creamy and smooth while it's sitting on your tongue, definitely taste honey and vanilla, and once you swallow you're left with an aftertaste that just says FIG. I think this tea is a bit sweet and definitely doesn't need a lot of sugar, but needs just a little to bring out its full flavor. Don't really know where the chocolate that the name claims is hiding, though. It just feels like its missing something. Nice desert tea, but I really like it better with the nutty yumminess of Toasted Nut Brulee.

Rooibos and chocolate were made to go together! We are always sticking rooibos tea bags in our hot chocolate at our house, so we thought this flavor combination was beautiful. We got one amazing steeping and one so-so steeping out of the same leaves. I normally sweeten my teas, but this didn't need it. Just lovely!

A high quality treat that seems to push the limits of tea not only are you greeted with an initial chocolate chip the layers peel away to form a sweet fruity treat and unlike some teas the sweet and wonderful flavor continue to unwind with every moment ending with the sweet fig taste that ends the sweet liquid treat on a soft and gentle harmony i used two teaspoons of rock sugar but i don't see why why you would need even that much given the flavor it would be a wonderful tea for those of us with a sweet tooth and even a tea to lead your friends into a haven of happiness truly a crown jewel in teavanas crown.

The smoothness is akin to a good cocoa, but there really isn't a chocolate flavor--fig and vanilla are the predominant flavors. It's a nice evening dessert tea.

I sure had high hopes for this one! Unfortunately, this tastes nothing like cocoa OR praline. Mostly, it tastes like fig, which was not what I was looking for. I wanted a nutty chocolaty tea....this ain't it. I did try combining it with the almond biscotti tea, but it didn't stop that figgy flavor!
The 1st tea from Teavana that I've received that I will be throwing away unfinished.
2/5 stars - the fig lovers will dig it. : )

When I first took a sip I was kind of disappointed. I smelled the chocolate but It was lacking in the taste. I tasted more pear/fig then anything. I am glad I only bought 2 oz of it.
