My stars. This tea is really great. The only reason I am giving it four and not five full "stars," is that I am going to need to brew this double-strength in order to get the best flavor out of it. I'm an adult student on a strict budget, but I love this tea, so I'm going to have to keep it even though it's more "expensive" than it seems.
I can't say that this tea can quite replace coffee for the flavor, but I am personally thankful for that. I only love coffee in the morning for its effect and warmth, not really for the flavor. This tea eradicates my need to tolerate coffee. I *love* this tea. I also love the Java Mate, and I am going to try blending them soon.
I think the perfect cup (well, tumbler really, since I have the Stainless Teavana Tumbler) is about 4 tsp of tea to 14 oz of liquid. I add a heaping tsp of the German Rock Sugar to it, and a splash of soymilk. It needs to steep for quite a long time, but I don't find that it gets bitter, even though it has some black tea in it. Bonus :)
Definitely a keeper. The flavor is incredible, even though it blends a ton of different flavors that seem like they wouldn't go together--and then they do, and sip by sip, I'm happily surprised. I suffer from severe seasonal allergies (all year 'round, ugh!), and this makes my extra-sneezy mornings so much more bearable!
If Teavana keeps making stuff like this, I am going to have to hide my debit card--my house is already overflowing with tea, but I'm super eager to try out more Teavana teas!

I really like the caffeine aspects of this tea. It works for me since I am the only coffee drinker in the house, I hate making a whole pot. It just goes to waste. So I purchased this tea, and I think it is OK...will it ever replace my coffee? Never. But I like the spice in it, I just do NOT like the chocolate flavor in it. I will drink the whole tin, but I will have to suffer through the chocolate. Remember the old scratch n sniff stickers? The Chocolate bar? That's all I taste. If that was removed, I would give the highest rating.

I am a huge coffee lover as well as a tea lover, and this kinda is like the best of both worlds. Im not gonna say this taste exactly like coffee, if you buy this expecting to be drinking a cup of coffee, you will be disappointed, BUT it does have a similar taste and somewhat even smell to coffee.
Also as a suggestion i have the 16oz perfect tea maker, if you put half coffee and half this tea mix you get a wonder mix of flavors and health benefits as well as a very good waking up and energizing beverage

I am new to the world of tea and am trying to experience as many as I can. This is the first time I've had "My Morning Mate" and I think it is going to be my daily start. Just the perfect combination of cocoa, mocha, spice, earthy flavors. But none of them are overpowering, just the perfect blend. Just finished my first morning cup and am going to go brew another....enjoy :)

There is honestly nothing I don't like about this tea. I recently had to get off coffee due to heartburn/acid reflux, and I find that this is an excellent replacement. It tastes great, doesn't need a lot of added sweetener, and because you don't have to watch the steep time too closely, it works well for the morning while you are distracted by getting ready for the day. I just add a spoonful of sugar and a splash of cream to about a 12oz cup (2-3 tsp of tea). I saw other reviews say that it is weak, but I really never get that. It's sweet and full on its own, or can be enhanced - either way. The nutty flavor is my favorite part of it. I highly recommend it.

Tried on a whim, normally drink black teas. Pretty nice, smooth and creamy, may need long steep time.

I drink this tea first thing in the morning and it really gets me engergized to start the day without the "crash" I normally get with plain coffee. I'm currently deployed to Afghanistan and my Soldiers love this tea as well. I bought a Teavana tea pot set and when my Soldiers come into the CP, I treat them to a little Morning Mate. This also makes a great afternoon pick-me-up following lunch. It takes the edge off of wanting to have a dessert because the smell and taste are satisfying enough to keep you on track with your diet. I absolutely love love love Morning Mate!

It's pretty good, but there are some notes. First it brews more like coffee than whole leaf teas. It took me a few tries before I realized it's best to brew it just like you do coffee (it's very granular). Otherwise, it's exactly like putting coffee grounds in your cup and then adding hot water to it - messy and hard to drink (unlike whole leaf teas). Teavana should tell you that (to use filters/strainers), but they don't.
The tea has a distinct earthy or paper like taste. At first I thought it was too strong and maybe from the paper filter I used. But I brewed it sans filter and it still tasted that way. Tea w/chocolate is not the same as coffee w/chocolate, so it's unique. Not bad, just different. Before you spend $$, try some generic black tea w/chocolate syrup and you'll get the flavor profile. Not as good of course, but the same type flavor, just to see if you like it. I'm trying the Javavana next, but expect similar results.

at first I didn't want to try this tea (I got it in a trial kit) because the smell was weird. I went for it anyways and I am glad. I did brew about two heaping scoops (teavana scooper) in my quick brewer which holds about 2 cups, and let it steep a bit longer than called for. Without any additions Im not sure I would like it so much, however with a bit of honey added to it and some half and half I really enjoy it now.

I tried this tea on a whim when I was searching for dessert teas/something that might blend well with the Toasted Nut Brulee, and honestly, I really don't like this. Admittedly, I think my aversion to it comes from the fact that I'm highly allergic to coffee, and I think this tea has a very coffeeish smell and taste (even though there isn't actually any coffee in it) - so if you really love coffee and want a comparable replacement, this would be the one for you, especially because of the high caffeine content. It would probably be decent with milk/creamer.

My husband purchased this tea for me to go with my tea pot. As soon as I opened the can and smelled it I knew I was going to be hooked! I am a coffee fanatic and this tea replaces my coffee most mornings now. Don't get me wrong, I still love my coffee, but this helps me not drink so much of it. It even has an almost creamy flavor to it...if that makes any sense. I feel very energized when I drink it, but don't get the jitters like when I drink coffee. If I could buy only one tea, this would definitely be the one!!!! For the people that have said it's bitter, I think you may have steeped it too long. I've not had this problem at all.
