This tea tasted exactly like a mocha inspired cup of coffee. Use it for anytime you'd like a cup of coffee without the guilt or stomach problems. Once brewed, don't let its appearance fool you. It will look a little watery. However, it is nothing of the sort. Mix it with a little bit of milk or creamer and you have something IMPERCEPTIBLE from coffee. While great on its own, I can only imagine how fantastic it is with great teas such as Spice of Life.
Plain and simple, I only get crazy about things that live up to their promises. This is one of those things.

Look, I KNOW they can't get any type of tea blend to taste like coffee without artificial flavoring, OK? I know that. But I still don't like artificial flavoring in my tea. That said, this tea DOES taste like coffee ... just not in a very good way. I would liken it to coffee made with a cheap coffee maker by a kid with not much of a clue of how to brew coffee. It comes across as weak, and weird-tasting. When I tried out breakfast teas and had them brew up multiple cups of the various options, I tried this one, and tried to like it, but in the end I just couldn't. Your mileage may vary, but I STRONGLY urge you to try before you buy! Don't just use the smell test!

I'll try any mate, and have found they all take some getting used to. This is the first one that I didn't take to, and that was after eight ounces. I can taste the assam tea, but not the mate. Or the chocolate, for that matter. I honestly wanted to like this tea; it sounded like it was right up my alley. Sadly, this was not the case. I'll stick with the other mates.

I usually only drink Spanish espresso coffee (2 cups min), but I've been looking for a variety that will energize me with a flavor burst like my espresso. JavaVana is it! It is my chocolate fix, my pick me up, and the smell is like "floating on a cloud mini-vacation". I love this tea and have added it to my weekly routine. :-D

I had never tried a chocolaty-tasting tea before and was a little nervous about it since I am a avid chocolate lover. I drank a cup after lunch and immediately brewed more. It's satisfies my chocolate craving and is a great substitute for dessert. I also love my coffee but do not drink much of it anymore as it sometimes bothers my stomach, so this tea is also a good coffee replacement.

Love it! Will be keeping this in stock.

I got this in the 12 days Sampler...The first sip seemed good, but as I got down to the bottom of the cup, I just kept having this bad aftertaste in my mouth. The last teavana tea, the flavors weren't so artificial, in this one you can definitely taste the artificial flavors and not in a good way either. It tastes like a bad cup of coffee that has been sitting around in the pot all day. I just think it's my preference that coffee and tea do not go together.

I am NOT a coffee drinker - in fact I don't like coffee - BUT I LOVE this tea as a blending tea. I was about ready to toss some of the teas I own (Chai Yen Thai and Nut Crème Brulee) then decided to try blending with this. Ahhhhh - PERFECT! I brew the mate for 2 minutes then add the other tea for another 3 minutes, pour over 1/2 and 1/2 and add a bit of local honey. Ahhh - I love morning! A teavana store gave me an awesome recipe with the mate, white chocolate peppermint and mint cacao black, cream and sugar - tests exactly like a thin mint. Heaven in a cup! This is a MUST HAVE blending tea.

I love using this in the morning to wake me up! It's relaxing, yet since there's quite a bit of caffeine in it since it's mate based (about 85mg per serving) it helps me become alert and ready for my morning classes. I love that it is basically coffee, yet without a coffee aftertaste. It's very smooth, sweet but not too sweet, and I don't have nasty coffee breath after either. Also great is it's a pretty low maintenance tea! (unlike green tea where you have to watch it very carefully because if it's in a second too long it tastes like swamp water).
Only downside is that my mouth does feel a bit dry afterwards, and that there's so much caffeine I can't drink it all the time. 10/10 would recommend.

I bought this tea for an avid coffee consumer. Being that it was a gift, I had to try it out for myself and I was amazed! It was definitely a good call since they liked it as well. The only thing being that if prepared as the instructions call for, it is a bit weak. I added two teaspoons of tea and seeped it for about 8-10 minutes. Huge improvement!
