JavaVana Mate Tea

i was very excited about this tea when i read the review! a coffee substitute? sign me up!

it smells great! but when i tasted it, it was like really weak, bland coffee. i'm a big fan of bolder and stronger teas/coffees, and it just didn't have any zing. i always drink my tea with a few rock sugars, and no milk...
but i felt myself wantin to add instant coffee to it, and some cream. sorry to say, probably my least favorite that i've tried so far.

Have been looking for a smooth coffee alternative in tea for years. This one is perfect because the flavor is not overdone. If you want a strong coffee or chocolate taste this is not for you, but if your looking for a nice smooth and even flavor this is a great find.

well i like coffee but it is too bitter and it stains teeth really bad and leaves bad breath but this tea is slightly bitter and KEEPS YOU AWAKE and dosn't stain teeth that badly

Being a huge Teavana fan, I was quite disappointed in this tea: I found it to be VERY weak and definitely lacking in both flavor and punch. I tried mixing it with Mate Vana, but alas...that was practically no help. The tea is simply very weak and lackluster. I will not buy it again nor will I recommend it.

I love this tea. It is the perfect beverage for me. I bought a pound the first time I went into the store. I still have a half pound left because it was a more recent purchase. It blends great with orange and raspberry based teas for dessert treat.

I have been using this tea for almost the past week. Trying to give up coffee - while they say the caffine is the same as a cup of coffee -- I however feel more tired during the day drinking this vs the "crash effect" of coffee -- im not sure what to do. I usually drink my coffee with just cream or milk no sugar. I drink this tea without anything - I have used cream - its good that way too - I tried it the other day with just a "bit" of german rock sugar - that was good too. I just feel that the caffine affect is different... any suggestions.

I DO LOVE the smell and it IS a good tasting tea!!

This is one of the best Mate's from Teavana. It has a smooth taste and the wonderful aroma of the chocolate. I don't need to add any sweetner or creamer because the the flavors that bring out a wonderful taste.

I recently became a Teavana shopper when a store was opened in my mall. I had never heard of it before. Being a culinary student I was drawn to it. I bought over $200 of Teavana product. This one is my most used and because it replaces coffee it is appropriately in my office at work.I love the flavor, very close to coffee without being it. This one does some creamer or it's much too bitter and the taste is too weak. Other than that it's pretty darn good. I will refill my canister.

It was an okay tea, the thing I find a little off putting is the strength. The smell actually makes it seem stronger than it was but all in all it was still good.

This has become my favorite Teavana tea. I switched my husband from coffee to tea a few years ago, and since the mate teas have the same amount of caffeine as coffee, it was an easy switch. We drink mate tea in the morning, but my husband has been stuck drinking a lot of the Raspberry Riot Lemon Mate (which is also delicious) because I am allergic to nuts and that was the only mate' without nuts...until Teavana came out with JavaVana mate'. It fills the kitchen with this amazing chocolate/mocha aroma. It has a full body and tastes as delicious as it smells. It instantly became a favorite in our house full of avid tea enthusiasts.
