This tea tasted exactly like a mocha inspired cup of coffee. Use it for anytime you'd like a cup of coffee without the guilt or stomach problems. Once brewed, don't let its appearance fool you. It will look a little watery. However, it is nothing of the sort. Mix it with a little bit of milk or creamer and you have something IMPERCEPTIBLE from coffee. While great on its own, I can only imagine how fantastic it is with great teas such as Spice of Life.
Plain and simple, I only get crazy about things that live up to their promises. This is one of those things.

My mother bought this tea actually. She's a flavored coffee person really. She saw this when I dragged her to Teavana.com so she could look at a teacup I wanted to buy. She thought this seemed interesting. So we went into the store and she bought some.(Somehow the sales clerk managed to talk her into buying the 1 lb. tin). So... yeah she was expecting coffee. So now it's up to my sister and myself to drink it.
I like this more than my mother did. It smells great and is good if you like coffee flavored products or lightly flavored teas. I recommend it with moderate amounts of milk and sugar.

I'm an avid coffee drinker--I grind my own beans and brew them just seconds after--so I know what quality coffee tastes like. This isn't coffee. But this isn't bad for a coffee substitute. In fact, I often replace my morning joe with a cup or two of JavaVana. Same complex, full bodied taste as a cup of coffee, with all the lightweight goodness of a cup of tea. Although I still prefer coffee in the am, I love JavaVana for a late morning or early afternoon pick-me-up--as too much coffee leaves me feeling heavy and with the dreaded coffee-breath. All in all, I'm very satisfied with JavaVana, and have found it to be a great caffeine substitution. Follow the brew times for a medium-full bodied cup of tea, or increase the tea to get a fuller bodied cup. I drink my tea (and coffee) black, so can't say what creamers or sweeteners will do....

I don't like the taste of coffee at all, I find it too strong, but this is the perfect substitute. It gives me that amazing coffee smell that I adore, & the mellow smoothness of tea...the chocolaty taste isn't bad either.
I don't think I'll be able to drink anything else now :)

This was one of many mate teas I tried from Teavana for the first time. When I opened it, I was rather excited. It smelt like chocolate, caramel, and coffee. I followed the directions of brewing and was a little disappointed when it just fell...flat. There are slight coffee and chocolate notes, but from the smell in the bag, I was expecting something a lot stronger. I don't think I'd buy this again, but I can see myself maybe purchasing a cup of it at a Teavana store once in a while. It was just...an okay mate tea.

This is yummy stuff! I just tried JavaVana for the first time this week. I do find it a little weak if I just use the standard 3 t. for 16 oz, so I bump it up to 4 t. for 16 oz which makes it a lot better. I also add a scoop of rock sugar for some sweetness as I don't find it to be sweet enough standing on it's own.
Tonight, I tried a blend; I used 3 t. of JavaVana and 1 t. of CocoCaramel Sea Salt with 1 scoop of rock sugar...WOW! It was delicious and just the right amount of flavor and sweetness. I would highly recommend blending these two teas. My instructor thought I was drinking coffee during class tonight and commented on how good it smelled. She was surprised it was tea blend.

A wonderfully aromatic tea with nice chocolate overtones. I use this in place of coffee when I need a pick-me-up.
I am able to brew a single tea bag twice (I use the Perfectea filters from Teavana, which I think are now called Perfect Paper Tea Filters). The second brewing takes a bit longer, but is just as tasty as the original.
Please note that this is a tea, not a coffee. If you are expecting a coffee experience, you might be disappointed.

I was a bit neutral about this tea at first. After reading some reviews, I was really hoping for a rich coffee flavor with nice chocolate undertones. After increasing the amount of tea in the brew, I found I enjoyed it more (I like my coffee STRONG, so if this is going to compare- it will need to be equally so). Although I cannot replace this with my morning java, it is a close second if ever I run out of my beans. There is a subtle chocolate aftertaste, and I do now enjoy its light hint of flavor rather than a stronger punch. The tea is slightly sweet, so I find I can drink it without anything added happily. It also tastes lovely with a bit of almond milk and stevia (or sweetener of choice) added to sip on as I wake up during the mornings at the office. I think for my next cup, I'll try adding cinnamon!

This tea steeps light, but don't let that fool you. This tea is just as delicious as it is fragrant. No sugar or milk required for me. I cannot believe just how smooth this tea is. Considering it has black tea and cocoa in it, there isn't even a hint of bitterness. None at all. Amazing. This will definitely become a staple for my tea drawer.

I am an avid tea drinker and I typically drink plain green, oolong or rooibos teas. Occasionally I enjoy a blend or herbal tea as well. I. Loved the chocolate scent to this tea and the rich, full body taste. I like to drink it in the morning at work and find it provides a nice pick me up.
I. I steep it for 7 to 10 minutes on the first steeping and 10 to 15 minutes on the second. I enjoy bold flavors though, so shorter times should be used for lunch a lighter cup.

I love this tea, I got it iced and it has just enough coffee and chocolate flavor, while still maintaining the tea flavor. It would be great blended with the caramel sea salt tea and some creamer. I like my tea cold normally, but if I drank my tea hot I'd pick this one
