I have been on sleeping pills (Ambien and Lunesta) for approximately 3 year and under the care of 3 sleep specialists, 2 of which are rated in the top 10 for the DC metro area in their field. All of them have placed me on multiple sleep programs, none of which worked. Somehow I always had to go back to the sleeping pills in order to fall asleep. I began to research different things I could do to resolve my chronic insomnia such as yoga, exercising before bed, no caffeine, eating healthy, lose weight (40 lbs), listen to jazz, light candles in the bedroom, read in bed, no naps during the day and light therapy. None of those things worked and medically I am healthy as a horse so there was no reason why I should not have been sleeping. Recently I began to notice that the side effects from the sleeping pills were really starting to kick in after all these years and I was having panic attacks, feelings of aggression and agitation and terrible headaches. I knew that no matter what I was going to have to dump all the bottles in the toilet and never take another one again. I told a friend of mine about this issue and my long battle with it and he suggested going to Teavana to see if they had chamomille tea. I went in and although they did not have straight chamomille tea the lady suggested Tranquil Dream. Two other customers in the store told me that hands down that was the best nighttime tea ever and that I should get a bunch now because they always sell out of it so I did. At first I was reluctant because I have suffered with severe insomnia for years but that first night that I drank the tea (3 teaspoons for 8 ounces) I slept pretty darned good. So now every night around 11 p.m. I have a cup of tea and within the next hour or so I am in la la land for the night. I wake up fully refreshed, no hangover or grogginess and ready to start my day. I am so happy that I have finally found something that does not involve a prescription drug that helps me in getting good sleep every night. I highly recommend this product to anyone who is having difficulty. I don't even need to add sugar or honey to it either.

I've struggled with varying levels of insomnia since I was a teenager. I got this tea partly to use as a new bedtime tea for myself, but also because I've always liked chamomile and mint combinations in other brands of tea. This tea was pretty standard tasting. I guess I expected more richness of flavor based on the ingredients. While it wasn't offensive at all, to me it seemed kind of weak. I hate to say it, but I've gotten more flavorful teas from the grocery store. Maybe I needed to add more tea, and I will try that tonight when I have it again. I'm not sure how to improve it. I personally might like a little more peppermint in the blend and less fruity flavor. That said, however, the tea did do an excellent job at relaxing me before bed. I slept quite well last night after a particular brutal bout of insomnia the night before. I would still recommend it. Just play with the amount of tea perhaps to get a richer cup.

I drink it almost every evening, either to relax with a book or things alike. Its great for people who have insomnia or other sleep disorders, or just if you want to ease into a peaceful and easy sleep.
I would recommend for anybody, not just for people with insomnia, although, it really does help with sleep disorders.

I ordered this tea as a bedtime relaxant. It fits the bill perfectly. Though the flavor is kinda weak at the recommended amount, if I use two teaspoons it's great. Much better than straight chamomile. I also sometimes use turbinado sugar or hibiscus syrup as a sweetener. Wonderful!

This isn't a tea for me. I guess I'm not a chamomile person and the citrus/lemon flavor is very pronounced. I would use this more for an afternoon pick-me-up than an evening tea.

I bought this tea as I started to experiment with chamomiles. This definitely was not a favorite. I steeped for about 5 minutes. I don't know why, but the initial flavor was good and then there was this awful bitter after taste. I tried to keep drinking it, thinking it might fade, but it definitely didn't and half way through the cup, I had to make my boyfriend drink the rest. I was definitely disappointed. On the bright side though, about 4 oz of the stuff made me want to zonk out for the entire night. Too bad it tasted less than desirable.

Comments about Teavana Tranquil Dream® (Night Night) Herbal Tea:

This tea has a very appropriate name. Very soothing, very smooth. It usually takes a lot for something to make me sleepy/relaxed in a noticeable way but this tea actually does it. The most prevalent flavors are chamomile and orange blossom to me. It also has a nice minty flavor, not too much, not too little, just enough to get the flavor without being overwhelming. I also get notes of orange zest and something floral, maybe marigolds. I don't get any bitterness from it at all like some other people. Overall, it's a nice tea. Worth the price.

Comments about Teavana Tranquil Dream® (Night Night) Herbal Tea:

I really wish that the rating system was a little more clear, because while the effect that this tea has had on me is more than worth the price of admission, flavor wise it's just good. The star of the show here is the tea's relaxing, almost sleep-inducing qualities. I suffer from acute insomnia but have something of an aversion to pills, but once I tried this I found almost immediately that I was able to sleep far easier. Both the sweet citrus scent and the flavor put me almost into a trance, it truly was worth the price. When I first got it, I feared it would be /too/ strong, but was pleased to find it gentle in its citrus flavor.

Now, that said, the flavor is... not amazing. I was introduced to loose-leaf by a beautiful Wu Ling oolong given to me by a Taiwanese friend coming home from a trip to Taiwan, so perhaps I am just spoiled by that tea, but I found this one just not quite to be up to snuff in the flavor department. It's still quite good, smooth going down with a pleasant taste that nicely matches the aroma. However, do not expect to be returning to this one again and again for its taste alone, as its a little weak and what I could taste was a little... earthy almost. Thankfully, its scent perfectly compliments it and does carry some of the heavy lifting. Besides, as I said what you're here for is its sleep-inducing qualities, and that was more than worth overlooking its minor flaws.

AS I do for most of the Teavana herbals, whites, greens, and rooibos, I make my cup with a bit more than suggested. ie, 2 tsp per cup instead of 1 1/2. The the tea was smooth, with a wonderful orange undertone. I had a great night sleep. This has become one of my favorite Teavana teas and I will always keep some on hand to help with my restless nights.

Comments about Teavana Tranquil Dream® (Night Night) Herbal Tea:

I bought this tea based on a review I read from a person who sounded just like me: insomnia since high school, trying to go natural, other remedies no longer work, etc... I detest chamomile tea, but this blend has so many other lovely, light flavors to cover it, that I love it. The aroma alone is soothing for me. I generally brew the loose leaf 3 times before composting. The first brewing with this tea, I am almost instantly calmed, at bedtime, my whole body is relaxed and pleasantly heavy, I have no problems falling asleep and, more importantly, staying asleep all night. The second brewing is still relaxing, but I may wake up once in the night. The third time around is still better than nothing, but not nearly as calming or helpful as the first time. All things considered, I have recommended this blend to all of my insomniac friends, and will continue to buy and recommend it for a long time.
