This is a yummy green tea that is savory rather than fruity, which is what I prefer. This pairs wonderfully with sushi and can be re-infused (so it is also very economical!)several times without losing it's unique flavor profile. Get a tea thermometer and watch the clock; make sure your water temp and steeping time are correct otherwise it will go bitter easily.

Warning - don't steep this for more than 30 seconds! Okay, now that we're past the biggest (and only) hurdle with this tea -- it is FANTASTIC. I love the toasted rice flavor this gives the traditional Gyokuro Imperial. I eat the rice out of my strainer when I'm done steeping it a few times too. Great quality, as it is Gyokuro Imperial with rice and substantially less expensive than its pure parent tea. Not for everyone, but certainly for me!

It is really easy to drink, very smooth. The flavor is so nutty, grassy and full of that wonderful rice aroma that it really feels like you are eating rice crackers. As a person who suffers from Celiac disease I find this tea to be a wonderful replacement for soy-sauce covered rice snacks when I'm really jonesing for that salty carbohydrate fix. This makes it perfect with breakfast or in the afternoon, but I end up drinking it all day!

I can't remember the last day I didn't make myself a cup of this tea. I love the fresh grassy flavor of the leaves and the roasted flavor of the rice. It's tough for me to not have my green teas come out a little bitter, but since I always prepare this with some rock sugar I've never minded. When I walk into my Teavana they know that at the very least I'll need another half-pound of this stuff.

This tea is so good! It is so different and really addicting. I LOVE the toasty smell. It smells like rice cereal but in a tea and it is very good! I am so glad Teavana carries it. I am typically more of a fruity tea lover, but this is so good!

This tea is quite amazing. It has a light vegetal taste with a very distinct hint of an almost "popcorn" smell and taste. (Not with butter) I steeped it at 175F for about 50 seconds and it was perfect. I would recommend this if you want to try something out of the ordinary.

My husband and I enjoy a cup of this tea but is definatley a earthy flavor. You can real taste the brown rice to it, which is unlike any tea I have ever had but has grown on me. Is definatley a unique tea that I wouldn't gift to someone unless they have had it.

A VERY green tea. The vegetal smell was enough to make me blink; it's very, very green-smelling. The taste is nice and strong - I even get two cups out of one serving of leaves. The rice adds a very nice depth to the flavor profile - perfect to drink with sushi or other asian food.
