This is a great full bodied Black Tea that is smooth and easy to drink. Golden Monkey would be a great introduction to big Black Teas or if you prefer a Black Tea that does not hit you over head as it is a subtle tea.
The one thing this tea does need is another tea blended into it. I like the "Lemon Monkey" blend of Golden Monkey with Lemon Youkou as the citrus both enhances and contrasts the Black Tea flavor.

I will say though, if you want that monster Black Tea, get the Black Pearls or Assam.

Despite the price, this tea is a good value because you can steep off of it 3 times without much loss of flavor. In fact, I think the second steeping is where it really starts to shine.

Saying that I love tea is an understatement. Teavana is heavenly. I'm experimenting with different tea blends and decided to go back to basic black tea. Golden Monkey Black Tea met my expectation. It's soothing with an original black tea flavor for those moments when I want to just enjoy tea. The store associates are nothing less than great. Their expertise guides me to find the right tea for me and I am loving it!!! A store is coming closer to where I live and I cant wait!!!

I sent someone to the store to pick up another tea and they got the "wrong" one, brought home this one. I was a little leary, I have drank earl gray for years and have not strayed from it, but this is a very good tea. I was a little taken back by the price, but I think its worth it. I did get the earl gray and mixed the two and got a really nice full body tea.

I bought this tea when I first discovered Teavana. It sat on my kitchen counter for a couple of months before I tried it. It has a very soothing quality to it. I become calmer and more relaxed after drinking it. It is not huge in flavor like Javavana, but I love it as my first cup of tea in the morning. It is a wonderful tea. The relaxing quality of it can't be beat.

Surprisingly great tea :) the subtle chocolatey notes work beautifully witht the rest of the bouquet, producing one of the greatest tea experiences a tru tea-lover can have.

When I first started using loose leaf tea, this tea was recommended to me and I have to say, "Thank you!". This is by far my new favorite black tea. Most reviews say that the 'Black Dragon Pearls' are better, but I beg to differ. I am a novice, so take my opinion with little experience, but in way that is even better than just the enthusiasts saying its a good tea! Great for all tea drinkers!

There is a reason this is a Top 10 Tea and it's because it is a high quality tea that is perfect for everyone at any time of day. I drink most of my teas pure and this tea is perfect without sugar, milk/cream, or any other tea blended in. It is mild and drinkable both hot and cold. It should not be compared to robust teas such as the Black Dragon Pearls or "heavy" noted teas. It has sweet honey notes that are very mellow and leave a clean smooth finish.

Great versatile anytime tea. Very smooth. Good iced and hot. Can be weak when iced-1.5 teaspoons/8 oz makes it better. Hot 1 tsp/8 oz is fine. Can definitely taste the cocoa undertones from the planting. Best all around versatile tea in my collection.
