This has got to be one of the most superb teas I have ever tried, and it is so inexpensive! I like my tea REALLY strong (must be the European in me...), and this is probably the best robust tea I've found. Be sure not to steep it for longer than 3 minutes, as it can get slightly bitter. I also recommend adding a small scoop of the German rock sugar to make the tea's flavor come out even more. Also, being a college student myself, this tea gets me going in the morning before class and it doesn't kill my wallet.

This tea has changed. I have been buying bulk 2lb bricks of English Breakfast from one of the local Teavanas for the last 18 months. The last one I bought is definitely not the same. First clue, packaging changed. Next I noticed the dried tea leaves look different, they are longer and less spiraled and twisted. Finally, the taste is off. Much stronger malty flavor though overall weak in flavor. I'm extremely disappointed that I spent $60+ on tea that I can barely tolerate drinking. If this trend continues, it threatens my patronage there.

Comments about Teavana English Breakfast (High Grown) Black Tea:

This is my "go to" tea as I've been a black tea drinker all my life. This is an excellent blend, not the best I've had in my lifetime but for the price you cannot beat it.

I use almost 2 teaspoons for 12oz, I do like my tea strong but I do not like it bitter. I steep it for 3 minutes with a little over 1 teaspoon of the rock sugar and it's perfect. And yes, the rock sugar makes a big difference in the taste of this tea as opposed to white or raw sugar. Beware, steeping over 3 minutes or trying to use these leaves a second time will give you a bitter tea.

Since I drink tea almost all day, I tend to cut myself off of the English Breakfast toward the late afternoon as the caffeine is so much higher in the blacks than other teas.

This tea is great. It's a nice, simple, soothing tea. It's perfect for right after a shower or right before bed. This tea is very calming and great for unwinding. I love to drink it with about a table spoon of rock sugar. This is an astounding bang for your buck.

Comments about Teavana English Breakfast (High Grown) Black Tea:

This is my go to tea because it is economical and goes well with milk. I drink it five days a week, while I am work, and save the good (and more expensive stuff) for the weekend. After seeing a review about a drop-off in quality of 1 pound bricks from a store, I ordered just a few 2 oz bags. They are just as good as any I have ever ordered. I have never had a problem with anything ordered online. The few times that mistakes were made, they were corrected quickly, cheerfully, and to my complete satisfaction. I have never received better customer service from any business. One would hope that she eventually made contact with someone at Teavana who made it right.

This is my first loose leaf tea and oh my god is it delicious or what? I tried drinking bag tea after having this for a few days and I just couldn't do it. This tea, when brewed right, is phenomenal. I love it!

While this tea has a strong body it gives off a brassy undertone that I do not find pleasant. The teas malty flavor, however, keeps me reaching for a cup every other morning.

Comments about Teavana English Breakfast (High Grown) Black Tea:

It's a good black tea, I like to mix it with peach tranquility or other herbal teas. One warning though- don't brew it over 2 minutes! The first time I made it I brewed it for 3 minutes and it ended up bitter. If you brew it with herbal tea I would recommend brewing the herbal tea for a few mins then add the english breakfast tea and brew it for 2 more minutes. It's a good, basic tea but honestly it's not much different than other english breakfast teas.

Comments about Teavana English Breakfast (High Grown) Black Tea:

Wasn't like the other English Breakfast teas I've tried, though to be fair I've only tried a few other brands. I bought it largely because of the price and I like black tea for the caffeine content. Though the taste by itself seems to be lacking something, I found it is wonderful mixed with the Blueberry Bliss & Pineapple Kona Pop blend. The fruitiness really improves the taste without covering it up, and I still get the caffeine that I like. I would buy it again but only so I could blend it. I'd like to try other combinations in the future.

Comments about Teavana English Breakfast (High Grown) Black Tea:

A fairly straightforward tea and familiar to most, this version of English Breakfast is a cut above the bagged supermarket powders. Strong with a good caffeine kick, it's also a little less astringent than the others and has an interestingly bright, almost vegetal aroma. It won't rock your world but is definitely a solid choice for a morning jolt and a good value.

I've always been pleased with the English Breakfast blend from Teavana in the past, purchased both online and from their stores. However, the last order I made online was very poor quality. I brewed it the same as always, but it is lacking in flavor, aroma, and body. It's just brown water that's bitter and tired. I don't know if the blend changed, or no one is paying attention to the quality, but I would not purchase this again until the quality improves.
