Too weak for me

Comments about Teavana English Breakfast (High Grown) Black Tea:

This tea has a very weak flavor. The recommendation is 1-1.5 tsp per 8 oz cup. I made the first cup per these recommendations (1.5 tsp with 200° water and steeped for 3 minutes) and the result was a very very mild tea flavor. For the second cup I doubled this to 1 Tbsp and it was marginally better. If you like a strong tea stay away from this one.

Comments about Teavana English Breakfast (High Grown) Black Tea:

To the people who say this tea is bitter, your right! thats IF you steep it over 2 1/2 minutes. I only steep for 5 minutes after the initial brewing. I even use it a 3rd time when making ice tea but i don't brew over 10 minutes.

I stopped drinking coffee every morning a few years ago and wanted something that still had a strong tea flavor. This was my ultimate choice after sampling quite a few different varieties of English breakFast tea. From Chinese, Indian, Irish, even Middle eastern, i really liked the 3 full leaves that make up this tea.

If you dont over brew you'll be fine. If you do, just throw it out and start again.

Comments about Teavana English Breakfast (High Grown) Black Tea:

It wakes me up, before I go-go (had to be typed). My usual morning habit is to blend this traditional breakfast flavor with fruity teas lacking caffeine and presto I'm ready for the day. At its virginal state, alone or blended, this pairs well with my toasted whole wheat and speculoos spread combo.

Comments about Teavana English Breakfast (High Grown) Black Tea:

You get what you pay for. The only reason I bought this is because I wanted to make some cheap iced tea to take to work with me and didn't need it to be anything fancy. What I got was something that was bitter to the point of being unable to taste the underlying flavor and such high tannins it was hard not to pucker after each sip. I am a big Teavana fan, but I will be skipping this one in the future. Spend a little more money-get something good and you won't regret it. Unless your tastebuds just can't tell a difference, in which case lucky you.

Comments about Teavana English Breakfast (High Grown) Black Tea:

This is my "go to" tea as I've been a black tea drinker all my life. This is an excellent blend, not the best I've had in my lifetime but for the price you cannot beat it.

I use almost 2 teaspoons for 12oz, I do like my tea strong but I do not like it bitter. I steep it for 3 minutes with a little over 1 teaspoon of the rock sugar and it's perfect. And yes, the rock sugar makes a big difference in the taste of this tea as opposed to white or raw sugar. Beware, steeping over 3 minutes or trying to use these leaves a second time will give you a bitter tea.

Since I drink tea almost all day, I tend to cut myself off of the English Breakfast toward the late afternoon as the caffeine is so much higher in the blacks than other teas.

This tea is great. It's a nice, simple, soothing tea. It's perfect for right after a shower or right before bed. This tea is very calming and great for unwinding. I love to drink it with about a table spoon of rock sugar. This is an astounding bang for your buck.

Comments about Teavana English Breakfast (High Grown) Black Tea:

This is my go to tea because it is economical and goes well with milk. I drink it five days a week, while I am work, and save the good (and more expensive stuff) for the weekend. After seeing a review about a drop-off in quality of 1 pound bricks from a store, I ordered just a few 2 oz bags. They are just as good as any I have ever ordered. I have never had a problem with anything ordered online. The few times that mistakes were made, they were corrected quickly, cheerfully, and to my complete satisfaction. I have never received better customer service from any business. One would hope that she eventually made contact with someone at Teavana who made it right.

This is my first loose leaf tea and oh my god is it delicious or what? I tried drinking bag tea after having this for a few days and I just couldn't do it. This tea, when brewed right, is phenomenal. I love it!

While this tea has a strong body it gives off a brassy undertone that I do not find pleasant. The teas malty flavor, however, keeps me reaching for a cup every other morning.

Comments about Teavana English Breakfast (High Grown) Black Tea:

It's a good black tea, I like to mix it with peach tranquility or other herbal teas. One warning though- don't brew it over 2 minutes! The first time I made it I brewed it for 3 minutes and it ended up bitter. If you brew it with herbal tea I would recommend brewing the herbal tea for a few mins then add the english breakfast tea and brew it for 2 more minutes. It's a good, basic tea but honestly it's not much different than other english breakfast teas.
