Comments about Teavana Earl Grey Flavored Black Tea:

When I think of a good energizing tea or "morning tea", I always think of Earl Grey. I often use it when I need to stay up a little longer than usual, or when I need that alert kick to start off the day. It's inexpensive, less caffeinated than decaf, you don't crash at the end, and it has a very nice taste. However, while it does give good amounts of energy, sometimes it does its job a little too well and I end up staying up longer than I ever intended to, but it is never so bad that I would be unable to recommend it to someone. I would not recommend giving this to kids.

Comments about Teavana Earl Grey Flavored Black Tea:

Received a large cylindrical 1 pound tin of this from a family member as a gift. The family member knew I liked tea, especially Earl Grey, so he thought this would be a good gift. I was excited, but when I opened the tin, I was immediately disappointed by the smell: there was not a hint of bergamot. I thought, maybe it would come out when it was brewed. Nope. Instead, there was an overwhelming smokiness covering a basic black tea flavor. This is NOT Earl Grey. The tin is a generic Teavana tin that is then filled with tea and has a label affixed. My guess is that some worker mislabeled a different, smoky tea (Laspang Souchong, maybe?) with the Earl Grey label, but that sort of thing shouldn't happen, since they should only be filling tins with one kind of tea at a time. Or, the more unforgiving possibility is that this awful tea is what Teavana is marketing as Earl Grey. Regardless, I won't be buying their products. There's many other good high-end tea purveyors.

Comments about Teavana Earl Grey Flavored Black Tea:

This is one of my favorite teas that Teavana offers. I love a good Earl Grey and this is one. It has the right amount of bergamot. 1 heaping teaspoon for each cup and one for the pot in my tea forte pugg teapot makes about 6-9 cups of tea. I do several infusions. the pugg holds about 20 ounces. I normally get 2 1/2 cups per infusion, but I use a fairly large mug and steep about 4 minutes since I like a stronger infusion. The last infusion I leave a bit longer since the leaves are weakening but it still yields a great pot of tea.

Comments about Teavana Earl Grey Flavored Black Tea:

I have for several years really enjoyed a good Earl Gray tea. I decided to try this to compare to those that I buy in the grocery store. While the tea is actually pretty decent, it is NOT Earl Gray. It smells nice, but there is a nearly imperceptible presence of Bergamot when drinking it. It is just an essentially unflavored black tea, although fairly smooth. Try as I might, I simply can't find any bergamot flavor in it. This would still be a worthy tea, but it just should be renamed to remove any reference to Earl Gray or they should add more bergamot to it.

Best Earl Grey I have ever had. When people ask me about Teavana's I tell them about their great selection of Unique teas but that doesn't really make as big as impression as when I show them my Earl Grey. It is strong and so good it doesn't need lemon but doesn't hurt. I never thought I could smell tea this fresh It's a great pick me up in the morning almost as strong as coffee. I love this tea and I will continue to love my Earl Grey Hot.

I made this my first loose-leaf tea purchase and I'm extremely happy! It's delicious and not overpowering and bitter like most bagged teas i would drink. I'm definitely buying more when supplies deplete.

I wish Teavana would listen to comments made by their customers about the bergamot flavoring, it is weak, but very aromatic. I think people like
more bergamot oil, NOT ARTIFICAL FLAVORING. Bergamot oil has more flavor

I purchased this tea after discovering my love for Earl Grey teas. I was really surprised at how good the first cup tasted, but after the first two or three cups, the tea started losing it's flavor. I used my Teavana infuser to make the tea, and the Teavana 6 oz. storage tin for storage. Within a day, the taste of the tea had gone from awesome, to dull and meh. I have been trying to brew it different ways, at different temperatures and for various times; but still no success of getting that flavor I got in my first cup. I will NOT be purchasing this tea again.
