I've been an Earl Grey fan for well over a decade, and constantly on the search for the perfect blend. This one is up there with the best. I LOVE the strong bergamot flavor! Too many of the bagged varieties taste weak and watery. This one is medium to full-bodied, depending on how much you use per pot, and I appreciate having that flexibility with loose teas.

I was excited to recieve Teavana's Earl Grey because their high-quality greens and whites make my mouth water when thinking about them. When I recieved it, I was averagely pleased. It's tea. For one, I'm almost positive there is NOT OFFICIAL OIL OF BERGAMOT used in this tea, I think it's inferior "bergamot flavoring" which is NOT bergamot oil at ALL. Second, the tea is mostly SHAKE (small, broken pieces, some no bigger than the head of a pin) and the tea goes through the finest of mesh filters. Frankly, it was just... tea. Nothing special. I went to the local Persian market and bought a WHOLE KILO of big-ole, WHOLE LEAF 100% Ceylon black tea with REAL oil of bergamot for $21.50. Don't waste your money.

Comments about Teavana Earl Grey Flavored Black Tea:
I love Teavana and the tea blends and flavors I've bought in the past have been delicious and never disappoint. I've never bought Earl Grey from Teavana, though, because I've always been very content with the Earl Grey tea bags that you can get from the store (GASP, I know).
Then, I rationalized, loose leaf tea is supreme over excessively processed, crushed tea bags from the store, therefore, Earl Grey from Teavana in the loose leaf form would taste MUCH better. I could not wait to try it. Thoroughly disappointed! It does not taste the way the tea bags from the store do.. I think the ones from the store sold in tea bags are much tastier, much stronger. I feel like this loose leaf Earl Grey does not even smell as aromatic as when I brew Earl Grey from the tea bag. Perhaps I should use more than the recommended amount, but I already DO use more than the recommended amount because I like very strong teas and coffee, but I don't want to have to use all of it up so quickly like that when I can just get the good stuff from the store.
I'm just surprised. And, I will add, just to be fair, that I mixed a little bit of Honeybush Vanilla into the Earl Grey, but you would think it would complement the tea even more so... Not really.
I won't be using my money toward Teavana Earl Grey again. Just average..

Comments about Teavana Earl Grey Flavored Black Tea:
The smell of this tea was wonderful but the taste! It was awful. The pleasant aroma was accompanied by an acrid, bitter taste that upset my stomach. At first, I thought it was because I overbrewed the tea or possibly used too many leaves. So, I made another cup, carefully measuring out the amount of tea and setting a timer. It wasn't quite as strong but still the taste was bad. I dumped it down the drain.
I might try a different tea leaf (green or white) to see if I can get a better Earl Grey. In the interim, I'm rather disappointed.

Comments about Teavana Earl Grey Flavored Black Tea:
A very mild, and somewhat bland version of a classic tea. This version will not upset anyone, but on the other hand, is unlikely to impress. Very little bergamot flavor or aroma. A very mild black tea with a hint of flavor, and quite expensive compared to other versions of Earl Grey.

Comments about Teavana Earl Grey Flavored Black Tea:
Earl Grey has been my fave for decades. I live in a very small town (without a tea shop!) and my bff bought this for me from Teavana for my birthday. SO, SO delicious! When you open the tin the fragrance is so incredible and your experience only gets better when you drink it. Really the best Earl i've had. Make yourself happy, happy, happy and purchase some right now!

Comments about Teavana Earl Grey Flavored Black Tea:
This version of Earl Grey is one of the weakest and least enjoyable I have ever tasted in over 30 years of enjoying tea. The leaves were like ground up bits of dried shrubs that had fallen to the bottom of the tea container. The aroma was fine but the taste was very, very weak. At a price of about three times that of a supermarket brand, this was a complete waste of money.

Comments about Teavana Earl Grey Flavored Black Tea:
Wow, was this a waste of money and time. Very mild, bland, weak, no hint of bergamot. Tea leaves were very dry. A complete waste of money. Try Bigelow from the supermarket - about 1/3 the price and better.

Comments about Teavana Earl Grey Flavored Black Tea:
I got this tea for Christmas along with "The Perfect Tea Maker." This was the first tea I steeped from Teavana! This is my FAV tea, I LOVE it! It is so aromatic and has a smooth, citrusy and creamy flavor. My first "Earl Gray" so I don't know if it is the BEST in the world, but I am sure it is close! I will be buying MORE!

Well I have always drank tea, but I am new to lose leaf tea. I got this tea as a Christmas gift. I have never had an "Earl Gray" tea. I LOVE this tea, it smells SO GOOD, has a smooth and creamy citrus taste, that I now know as "Bergamot." I will be buying LOTS more!
