Most of the time, you might find a small air-hole(blown hole) on the bottom of a double wall glass cup or a pot. Normal circumtances, no dish washer, simply rinse with hot water. But if you need to do so every now and then, there will be some water trapped inside the hole between the two walls. You may add very hot water into the pot a few times over the kitchen sink till all the water comes out, and then let dried. I hope this will help.
Although it is made of Borosilicate glass, but it is a double wall glass pot thus not safe to use on the stove.
Mouth blown glass, an art hard to master, each piece hard to make to perfection.Enjoy it as something precious and special.

I absolutely loved this teapot when I first got it. I was going to go with a less expensive ceramic model, but changed my mind in the store because the Mirabelle is so very pretty. When I got it home, I noticed how delicate it seemed, but I was assured by the clerk that it was sturdier than it looked. I've used it just about every day for 2-3 weeks with no problems. Then, today, the bottom of the outside wall shattered and fell off while my tea was steeping with a loud "SMASH!" I ran into the kitchen to see what happened, and I saw that the piece that broke off was a near-perfect circle, cracked in half.

I've never banged, abused, or even been rough with the thing. The only thing that I can think of is that the glass is just not thick enough to handle frequent heating and cooling, or that it can't stand up to higher temperatures. I think the water may have been too hot this last time, but boiling water should be okay to put in a teapot, right?. It could be a combination of those, but either way, I'm NOT HAPPY!

This teapot may work for someone who doesn't drink a lot of tea or for someone who just wants something lovely decorate their kitchen with, but I need a teapot that works. The Mirabelle just doesn't deliver. Another thing that I don't like about it is the fact that the strainer is in the spout. If you don't use all of the tea at once, the leaves sit in the water for too long and ruins the tea. A solution to that would be to get a carafe, but why have a glass teapot if I keep the tea inside it? I'd much rather have one with a removable infuser.

I'm going to try to get my money back, and though I love the look of the Mirabelle so much, I'll use it to buy a different teapot from Teavana.

Comments about Teavana Mirabelle Glass Teapot:

I just bought this teapot yesterday and I do love it's delicate beauty and the look of a rose-colored tea in it. My primary complaint is that the insert that holds the loose tea has tiny slits instead of holes for the water to run through. When I used it for some loose tea and one blooming tea ball, the loose tea blocked the slits that are just at the bottom so water couldn't drain through very well. I had to stir it repeatedly to clear the clogged slits and then pour more water in. It took several minutes of stirring and pouring to fill the pot. The photo online seems to have a screen over the spout instead of the insert. They show floating tea which would be very pretty. But, mine came with the glass insert.

Comments about Teavana Mirabelle Glass Teapot:

The lid fell off while pouring and it broke the spout off. I was just devastated because I've been SO careful about everything: washing it, heating, pouring and always making sure the lid was secure. But I DO love the design: large bottom, seemed like a secure lid and large spout. A bit pricey to buy another one especially after reading all the other reviews. Darn! I really loved it too!

Comments about Teavana Mirabelle Glass Teapot:

I'll start with the price - a bit high for a small volume pot. But the beauty is incomparable. The tea floating within the inner chamber is just gorgeous, especially with a blooming tea inside and matching double-walled teacups!!

There is a hole left on the bottom from the mouth-blown process. Mine has a filling in it - slightly rubbery (like some sort of rubber cement) that prevents water from leaking between the 2 walls. I discovered this accidentally when I forgot not to submerge my pot, then wondered why no water got in. There is the tiniest amount of dew right near the hole now, but not enough to steam between the walls. In short - I still wouldn't submerge it, but you probably won't get any water in the walls washing by hand.

It is delicate - it's glass, after all. I've only had it a short while so I can't speak to the longevity of this pot, but tops always need to be held when pouring a tea pot. If the pot cracks on it's own or breaks unexpectedly I will re-post these comments.

I love this pot. It's beautiful and functional, I just wish it held 4C instead of 3 (it holds 3 when it's full to spilling out the spout)

Comments about Teavana Mirabelle Glass Teapot:

the top is a bit hazardous .. and u have to use with caution .. i have burned my self 2 times .. because the top or lid plopps off even with little tipping .. and falls out on to ur hott tea .. causing burns ..
i love the pot the design is lovely its cool to touch on the outside .. so u don't really know how hot the tea is .. but u have to hold the top .. coz it does fall off .. now i did manage to take a piece of stainless steal wire and bend it in a way that it has 2 arms .. on the opposite sides which catches the top b4 it falls .. but they should have done that for that price .

We found a big crack in the first one we bought and it was quickly replaced (Thank you). But the second time we used the replacement, we noticed the new one had developed a crack near the bottom of the handle - and the lid popped off and cracked.

Comments about Teavana Mirabelle Glass Teapot:

I absolutely loved this pot when I bought it. It made the tea look beautiful suspended in the glass. However, three months after buying it shattered about 10 minutes after pouring the hot water inside. I guess the glass isn't as sturdy as I thought it was. From now on i'm not buying any more of the double-walled glass items. I thought the Borosilicate glass would be stronger!

This is a darling pot but mine had a flaw in the bottom of it and the flaw allowed water to enter between the sheets of blown glass. It is now showing condensation and it is not so cute anymore.
