The first thing I noticed was how deceiving the photo is of the actual capacity (32oz). When making iced tea, my solution has been to make a concentrate (2x strength) and then add spring water as I drink it. That way I have enough for 2 days or so. I looked at the larger glass pitcher, but I like how the shape of this doesn't take up too much room in the fridge. I am very careful to cool it completely before putting in the fridge, and will not put it in the dishwasher, to avoid breakage. I wish Teavanna would make this in a 64 oz size, I would definitely buy one! The design is attractive and would be great to serve a crowd from as well if it were larger.

I loved it. Used it almost daily, hot tea, iced tea, even made fresh lemonade because it looked so pretty in the container. Then after about six months I put it on the counter to fill and realized it had a large crack all around the handle. Very Sad. No trauma to the cylinder that I am aware of. If the product is improved, I would purchase again.

Comments about Teavana Camellia Cylindre Glass Tea Maker:
I bought this a few weeks ago at the local Teavana store, where the sales guy spent the entire time trying to convince me to buy the Claire instead of this. I'm SO glad I ignored him.
So, I'll start with his opinion. His claim was that, because there was no basket for the tea leaves to remove, that the tea would 'burn' if you didn't pour it all immediately. Now, first, it can't burn if you're not adding heat, so unless you have a warming plate that won't be a concern. It will of course get stronger, but I like my tea strong, so that was no concern either. Sometimes I'll leave leaves and water in there overnight even and just reheat it, it doesn't taste any different as far as I can tell.
Now, on to the many benefits! First of all, you can use this for anything. It's glass so it won't hold flavors or smells, and it's basically a french press so it works great for coffee as well. I use mine for both. Secondly, it's the easiest you could possibly get for cleaning. If you drink a lot of chamomile in particular you need to buy this. I've had a few other brewing pots, and chamomile is particularly problematic to clean because the pieces are so small. I used to spend fifteen minutes every morning scrubbing the teapot from last night's chamomile...now just a quick rinse is all it needs.
It's well-made, simple, a good size and very convenient. Haven't yet seen anything better.

Comments about Teavana Camellia Cylindre Glass Tea Maker:
I drink green tea first thing in the morning, every morning. 32 oz of it. The night before, I place room temperature water and my green tea in this infuser and leave it on my bathroom counter. In the morning I have beautifully brewed green tea. I have had this infuser more than five years, I think. I hand wash it. I have not made hot tea with it. I have made other varieties of sun tea, peppermint and white tea being a favorite in the summer. For health reasons I appreciate that the infuser is made of glass and has a stainless steel top. I wanted to write a review after seeing the ratings so low for this product. Everyone has their preferences and needs. This infuser meets mine.

Comments about Teavana Camellia Cylindre Glass Tea Maker:
My first one broke the second time I used it - a small circle of glass broke right out of the bottom. My local Teavana was nice enough to replace it free of charge. I only used the new one a couple times. Tonight, I put it in my car with a blanket tucked around it, and got where I was going to find it broken - same little circle out of the bottom. I won't buy another one; it's not sturdy enough no matter how pretty it is.

Comments about Teavana Camellia Cylindre Glass Tea Maker:
I love my ice tea cylindre. I read the other reviews and I'm surprised that people buy a glass pitcher at this price and do not read the instructions. Borosilicate should not be used in the microwave but it is fine for the dishwasher (though I be sure that it is not touching other dishes and it is secure). To make tea, I add enough tea to two tea balls to brew 5-6 cups, add hot water. For the type of tea I make, I remove the tea balls after 6 minutes. I let the tea cool for about 20 minutes and then put in the fridge to cool further. Borosilicate is resistant to breaking with air temperature changes but this doesn't mean it WON'T break. And note: that is air temp changes. Anyway, I love my pitcher as it is the perfect size for making iced tea for several days and it fits in my fridge.

Comments about Teavana Camellia Cylindre Glass Tea Maker:
This pot was a gift for the Hubby. Got it for xmas, strainer separated from the lid by end of January! Its not a big deal because it doesn't effect the use of the pot. However for [$] bucks, I thought it would last longer. I find the glass to be sturdy enough, contrary to some other reviews. You definitely should wash this pot by hand after each use, and never just leave it in the sink and the glass should be fine. If my heavy handed Hammer Tech hubby hasn't broke it yet, then that should tell you something. He really loves this thing, so i would definitely buy it again (even though the lid could use some redesigning).

Comments about Teavana Camellia Cylindre Glass Tea Maker:
After reading all reviews, I took a chance and am delighted I bought this tea maker. Just before I add hot water, I add several ice cubes to the pitcher and insert a long, silver tablespoon in the tea maker. My mother always did this to her best crystal to avoid any chance of breakage. In addition, I always support the bottom of the pitcher, particularly when it is full. Use it constantly and have not seen any cracks and I HAVE bumped it on my sink several times when cleaning.

Love it!! I drink ice tea daily now. It is good for multiple infusions. I usually will make the tea and it sometimes will last all week by just adding water as I drink it. I do have to agree with others that it breaks easily. I had to order another one and have been waiting for 2 months for it to arrive :(.

Comments about Teavana Camellia Cylindre Glass Tea Maker:
I am a tea lover and have been purchasing Teavana teas for years. Purchased the cylindre glass tea maker and I enjoy using it (almost daily); can brew a day's worth with this tea maker. I heat the water in the maker in my microwave and I have not had any cracking. I rarely refrigerate the brewed tea but when I do, the cylindre has cooled down.
