My husband got this for me for a Christmas gift, and I am so pleased to have it. It is plenty large enough to serve from and the matching cups are a delight. Merry Christmas :)

Bought this for my wife, an avid tea drinker on our 30th anniversary. It is all the sales person said it was and even more to us. We like tea, but are not into all that Buddhist symbolism. Our son is the lead attorney for the University of Alabama, so we call it our "Roll Tide Roll" teapot as it has the Crimson Tide color and the Elephants too. We also bought the warmer which keeps the tea perfectly hot.

I was so excited to receive this teapot as a gift from my husband and daughters. It was wonderful to make a pot of brewed tea and drink it as the day progressed, not needing to continually brew more. It has a large capacity; I was able to drink three 12oz mugs of tea during the day and evening while on my holiday vacation! Simply delightful!
This pot is simply perfect. I got some cast iron dragon cups and lotus coasters to round out the symbolism, and we use it frequently. Makes an absolutely wonderful cup of tea. You will not regret purchasing this!

I really love the size. My wife and I enjoy tea at night and can get about two good sized mugs each out of this. I have not had any trouble with the tea not staying hot 'til the end; I cover the pot with a 'tea' towel and we usually find that works. I have the green and the deep jade is perfect.
I've had this teapot for about 6 months. I bought it along with the cast iron cups, coasters, warmer and a serving tray and could not be happier with it. As mentioned by an earlier rater, the pot stays hot longer than the tea due to the size so if you do not drink tea at a steady pace or won't be drinking with several people, the pot is a little too big. However, for 3 to 4 tea drinkers it is perfect. This makes it a huge hit when my parents come to town. Plus the red elephant design always starts a conversation!

I have quite a few cast iron pots, 20-26 oz size and often find myself brewing two pots (for two people drinking)... Wanted one larger. Overall love the pot, the color is a very deep dark red, not like the picture...but NO matching cups(very disappointing), saucers or trivet. You need a large warmer, a large trivet and while the pot stays hot, the tea does not stay as hot for very long (as compared with 20-26 oz pots). The pot is also very heavy to handle when full due to its size (really holds about 36-37 ozs versus 40oz). Also due to size, takes a lot more tea, which can be expensive especially with my favorite silver needle white tea at 1 1/2 teaspoons per 8 oz. I am happy with my purchase, but would not buy another pot this large.
