I purchased this teapot, trivet, two cups and saucers, and a few teas in order to incorporate more tea and less coffee into my life. I conducted quite a bit of research and studied many tea sets before deciding on this one. I really love it. It is aesthetically pleasing and the cast iron has a nice heavy feel. It is important to warm the teapot with hot water before steeping or the tea will not stay warm as long as it would otherwise. I typically put hot tap water in the teapot while waiting for my tea kettle to boil. Then, I pour it out and steep my tea. Overall, I love this set and look forward to preparing and enjoying my tea each day.

This exact cast iron teapot sells online through various websites ranging from Asian grocery stores to eBay for much less of money. Don't buy into the idea that the cheaper product must be inferior in quality, which is not always the case. Do your research, Save your money. I have purchased both just to compare and contrast, most people pick the cheap one as the name brand when asked!(without looking at bottom) The only difference was the branding. If your buying this to show to your tea buddies then by all means get the brand name.

      Almost perfect

Comments about Teavana Dragonfly Cast Iron Teapot:

I bought this for personal use at work, to replace my daily coffee trips. It is a perfect size if you just need to steep a couple cups of tea, and it keeps the tea warm long enough to be able to enjoy the second cup. And it looks really nice, too. I would highly recommend this! The only thing to note, is that you are not supposed to actually heat the water in this. You should use a separate kettle for that. If this is a dealbreaker, then I would advise choosing a different teapot.

      defective design

      By Jay

      from Reno, NV

Comments about Teavana Dragonfly Cast Iron Teapot:

I exchanged the first one because the spout was defective, but upon receiving the replacement, it too suffers from the same defect, so the problem is in the design. When pouring, the stream of tea angles off to the left between 30 and 45 degrees when looking directly down on the teapot. The miss pouring is a nuisance and an unacceptable defect for a teapot that should otherwise provide an elegant serving experience. I will be returning the second one for a refund this time.

Beautiful cast iron teapot. I recieved this as a Christmas gift from my mom and absolutly love it. it's easy to use and great to look at. I recieved the tea cup and coaster to go with it. I can pour the perfect cup of tea and instantly relax. the insructions clearly state not to boil water in the tea pot itself. I seen a lot of reviews complaining about it peeling inside which discouraged me at first but after reading the instructions can understand why they had the experience they did. I have the peach jasmine green tea and it's smooth light flavor is not only great to smell but delicious as well. best Christmas gift I've recieved yet.

I love Teavana in the late afternoon while I am relaxing after spending a day gardening. Its wonderful smell surrounds my room as I shower. When I step out of the shower I can smell the aroma and immediately relax knowing in 10 minutes, I will have my feet up, listening to the radio in my favorite chair by a window that looks out to my garden while I sip. This was a perfect gift given to me by my wonderful husband, just because. And I adore it. I have a Dragonfly teapot that I use to seep the tea. This is heaven to me. Thank you Teavana!

Do not waste your money! The enamel bubbled after less than 6 months of use. This teapot is only intended to use while steeping tea. You must boil water in another kettle and you must purchase a separate cast iron warmer if you wish to keep your tea hot. Teavana staff recommended this product but never explained that it could not be used to heat water. You think that would be an important detail. We loved teavana until our terrible experience with their staff and this product.

I was excited to buy this teapot while it was on sale. It is very pretty and heavy/ sturdy. And brewed a nice pot of tea. However, after about 1-2 weeks, I noticed peeling around the inside of the spout and the inside the top opening. I imagine rust will quickly form at these areas. I only used the teapot less than 5 times and hand washed it very carefully. Very dissappointed that I will not be able to use this as my everyday teapot. It will now be decoration on a shelf...

Comments about Teavana Dragonfly Cast Iron Teapot:

I'm an avid tea drinker, increasingly so as the years go by. I get a little bit disregulated if I don't have at least a few cups of tea every day. Knowing this, my amazing boyfriend bought me this beautiful teapot for Christmas (in green, because it's one of my favorite colors). It's absolutely beautiful; it's a lovely, natural, relaxing shade of green, which I love, and the dragonflies are lovely. It's a pleasure just to look at, and also fabulous to use. It's heavy and sturdy enough that I'm not worried about accidentally breaking it, but small and light enough to lift and pour easily. The little mesh infuser fits perfectly, and gives my loose tea enough space to brew properly while still keeping it in the pot when I pour the tea (I don't mind having leaves floating about in my cup, but my family and friends aren't terribly fond of it). It also keeps my tea the perfect temperature until I'm finished (I have small glass teacups, and this pot holds exactly enough for five cups).
I could not be happier with this teapot. It's very rare that a day goes by without me using it.

I wish I had bought this kind of pot more than two years ago. I was being cheap. With all the other pots together I could have bought two cast irons. I will be buying a bigger one very soon, and I am telling everyone about these pots. Teavana you should pay me for advertising and promoting your tea. (smile) I love your teas, please don't change and bring back the Blooming Teas.

Comments about Teavana Dragonfly Cast Iron Teapot:

I was so excited to get our first tea set and begin drinking "real" tea instead of just the tea from the bags. I love our dragonfly set but the only problem that I have with it is that it's difficult to clean since you aren't supposed to use soap on it because of the cast iron. If tea spills on the saucer, which it typically does in my house, then when it is wiped away the paint is wiped away, too. So it becomes a matter of whether the tea stain is more important than the paint stain. Otherwise, I think that this is great product, expect to use it for many years to come, and have gone back to buy many other products from our local Teavana.
