- Aesthetically pleasing
- Large capacity
- A Bit Pricey
- Oversized Lid Fits Poorly
- For Liquids Like Tea
I recently bought this as a gift for my girlfriend and took a peek to make sure it arrived in one piece.
Overall the set looks nice; however the teapot's lid doesn't seem to fit right. The depression the lid is designed to sit in is slightly smaller than the lid itself. This allows the lid to shift and "clink about". Luckily, I won't have to worry about the lid falling off as the lid is also designed with a "lip" to prevent it from doing just that.
The problem with the lid bothers me and if I had bought this tea set for myself I would likely return/exchange it. However, this is a gift for my girlfriend whom I know would berate me for making a fuss about something so minor.
My advise to potential buyers:
If you are willing to pay the "Tevana (over)price" then this is a pretty nice teapot. Except for the lid, the set appears to be well made and is quite good looking.
If you are buying this for display purposes don't worry about the lid, no one will notice.
If you are buying this for use with tea don't worry about the lid, no one will care.
If you are buying this to give as a gift don't worry about the lid, the recipient might not notice or care.
But if you are buying this and you are a super-picky person, consider purchasing a different tea set.
- Ill fitting lid
This is a beautiful set. The colors match perfectly with my grandmother's china set she passed down to me. However the lid does not fit perfectly perfect, it is a little off kilter pretty much no matter what you do. I looked for a long time to find this flaw, and it won't bother me for everyday use. This is a lot lighter than the teapot I was using before and is definitely very beautiful as well as being comfortable to hold. The cups are slightly thicker to prevent breakage.
