- Clay Smell
- Coarsely Made
I came from China and my family loves to collect teapots. I have brought some Yixing clay teapots to the States. This one teapot, comparing to the ones in my collection, is very uniquely designed and I love the pattern and the color of it. However at the same time, it is also very cheaply made. First of all it has a clay smell, which didn't happen to any of my other teapots when I started using them. Second, a good teapot is not supposed to drip when you pour, but this one does. I still give it four stars because of its appearance. You can use it to make any tea of your choice, but you should stick to one type of tea because the clay does get seasoned. When you first get the teapot it may not seem as polished, but the more you use it, the more polished and beautiful it will look. Usually the clay would get darker to a certain extent as well.
- Just the right size
- Scented tea for aroma
I love the red clay pots and I was happy I got this while it was on sale. The teapot is just large enough to hold a satisfactory amount of tea. The cups are a good size. This pot will keep the tea hot for at least an hour before it cools off. I use mine for jasmine tea. After washing and letting it dry overnight, I could still smell a hint of jasmine inside the pot. Lovely!
