Tristan Infuser Pitcher

I bought the pitcher on the recommendation of a sales associate (although I was planning to purchase the PerfecTea Maker II). The lid does leak which is annoying but not something that can't be worked around. My main issue with it is that the filter isn't longer. I tried to make about half a pitcher (32oz) and not all the tea was covered by the water so I ended up having to make a full pitcher instead. I like that it is all dishwasher safe.

I am a big sweet drinker, and I love it cold. I enjoy hot tea during the cold months but my interest wanes when it gets warmer so I've been looking for a way I could brew a good quantity of iced loose tea at one time and was recommended to this in a teavana store.

Yes if you pour too fast the lid does leak and gets tea everywhere (only reason I can't give it 5 stars), go a little slower and it's just fine.

It's very easy to clean and provides enough space in the infuser to put the perfect amount of tea in. Works great, really glad I purchased this :) Now if they could just make a gallon-sized one I would be set.

I like it. It's true that if you pour too fast, it does spill, but you need to pour slowly. It's nice not to have to use a pot or tea kettle, then wait until it cools to pour it into a pitcher. I use both loose and bagged tea in it.

I took a long time deciding on which tea maker w/infuser I was going to buy. I looked each one that Teavana offers and read the reviews posted by other consumers. I decided to visit the nearest store, which I'm glad I did because a very helpful salesperson showed me each tea maker they had on display and made comments on each one. I even commented on the negative reviews this particular one received. In fact, the one on display did show that the lid did not lay flat when closed. However, he pulled a new one right out of the box and I saw that the lid did in fact lay flat and closed. What I did notice and perhaps others have not is that the metal lid should fit snug at the pouring spout. I have been using this item for over a week now and I have had no problems with leakage or spillage and I have filled it to its capacity of 66 ounces. While it does not keep the tea hot for a long period of time, once I brew a full 66 ounces I transfer the tea to a thermal glass lined carafe and I have tea for the entire day.

I bought this infuser pitcher in hopes a more practical tea infuser. The rubber end caps leak and have somehow developed a film on them since the infuser has been washed. When you try to pour the tea, if you pour even a little too quickly the lid easily flies open and there goes your tea. I would definitely not spend recommend this infuser to anyone!

I really like this. I went searching first for an infuser that wouldn't let particles through, and a friend recommended this pitcher that she'd bought in the store. I bought it because the infuser had a huge capacity for the whole leaves to unfurl, and because it came with a great glass pitcher. I use it at work and get comments on it all the time. The holes in the infuser are so tiny that almost no particles escape.

Reviewers below are correct, the lid doesn't "latch" and it can leak when pouring. The metal lid does "clip" into two lips in the silicone spout. I found quickly that when it's clipped like this, tea will come out the sides around the spout, as the tea comes up and over the hole in the lid. I found that if you simply don't clip the lid, that spillage stops as the tea can now pour through the middle. It doesn't affect the look of the pitcher at all; the lid is now sitting on top of the little silicone lips instead of being clipped underneath them.

My glass is still whole. If it were ever to break, I'd certainly keep the infuser and just stand it into a large Pyrex measuring cup.

If anyone's interested, here's my recipe for a pitcher's worth of iced tea:
1 tbsp Iron Goddess oolong whole leaf tea
1/6 stick of cinnamon
2 whole allspice
2 whole cloves
1 small piece of a crushed star anise (about 1/4 inch long)
1 tsp dried organic valencia orange peel (pith scraped off before drying)
1/2 tsp stevia powder
Steep at least 6 hours, then cool.

the pitcher is the best thing i have used in 50 years,I am not sure why a review spoke of lid not closing, as this pitcher is not for travel but home use and I do have to push down on the lid a bit to lock it in place before putting in the fridge but most pitchers will have the same thing going on, and i can steep the tea then put the pitcher right in to the fridge, i too will be getting another one the next time I go to Teavana, wish I had found teavana sooner,i love all the products I have bought in the store,

I bought this to start my tea experience first two days loved it... Yea i drank it three times a day i am in love with it..

I go to make it this morning and it broke the bottom now has a hole in it..very disappointed because the glass broke

Spent [$] on this for our RV and first time I used it, you pour out the tea & it leaks under the rubber seal. Great size, but this is going back.

I purchased this 2 days ago. I am disappointed in the lid, which does not latch in any manner. This is very pretty and works extremely well. I purchased the glass pitcher as I had heard of that the plastic, spill-proof pitchers tend to break. I would have rather had something that will seal.
