This was my first tumbler and I have loved it for a few months now. The filter works just fine, I am not sure what those complaining about it are talking about. Some microscopic-sized bits may get through, but hey - it's TEA and it only adds to the flavor. Besides, the leaves are edible and aren't going to hurt me. Trust me, you won't notice free-floating leaves unless you are scrutinizing your tea and looking for them.

For teas that won't burn or over-steep, I love putting them in the bottom of the tumbler while I carry it around with me. Leave the filter in (snapped into place) while you drink and I promise you won't be swallowing whole leaves. As the description says, this tumbler is really lovely with blooming teas but it's also quite pretty with any other leaves that won't burn. If it is a tea that requires specific time just put the leaves on top of the filter, turn the tumbler upside down, let steep, flip right-side-up, pop out the filter and clean out the leaves. Simple.

This product does not leak if you have the lid on tightly. If you notice it dripping, it is likely because the inside of the lid was already wet when you put it on (from washing, perhaps). This is the only time I've noticed moisture on the outside of my tumbler. I don't leave my tumbler rolling around in my bag all day though, so perhaps people run into problems there - I don't know.

This product is delicate. I am a student and carry it around with me to my classes. I am careful with it and have not had mishaps. If you want something super durable, go with the Thermos Tea Tumbler. I aim to buy one of those soon so that I can have something to throw in my bag and let it roll around on busy days. On a side note, this tumbler will keep your tea warm for 2-3 hours if you keep the lid CLOSED. Don't sit there with the lid off and expect the tea to stay hot.

Overall, I LOVE this product. I am considering buying the next size up or perhaps the Thermos tumbler. Either way, I would definitely recommend this to a friend and may be giving a few of these away as gifts. There is a new product I've seen in stores that is essentially this tumbler, but with golden dragons along the inner glass chamber - Six Dragon Symphony, I think was the name of it? I do not see it online, but I HAVE seen it in stores. It is more expensive, but very appealing. Consider that product if you're thinking of buying this one, though the difference only seems to be aesthetic. A+, Teavana!

Don't get me wrong this tumbler is beautiful, and was delivered with a great presentation box. Would make an excellent gift. I was very excited to use this but found it difficult. I put the tea in the body of the tumbler then placeed the metal screen over the liquid and tried to drink. Disaster… The metal strainer won't stay put. Therefore I make the tea in a different container and pour it into the tumbler through the strainer. That worked ok. The metal strainer just kind of pops in and does not have a real method of staying put. The rim of the tumbler is like a big glass screw top, and is messy to drink from. There is not a place specifically made for drinking so there are some dribbles. Also the top is not water tight so you must be careful using it in travel. It is a nice concept but does not follow through in usability. I only use it around the home and will not take it to work or travel with it in the car. Perhaps if there was a screw down travel lid with a spout it would work better.

This was the only thing i asked for for christmas this year. I asked for it because I am used to drinking Mate from Argentina and drinking it the traditional way I would get particles...... no fun. I used the mate in this and while it didn't do as well sorting out the loose leaves (they got through the holes of the bars sticking out on the infused) as I expected, I still love it. I have found a trick that works and it is AMAZING!!! I can see how much I have left (although very depressing) and can start heating the h2o for more. I am in love and my boyfriend makes fun of me... this is the only mug I bring in from my car after every day, they used to sit in it for weeks on end until he couldn't find any. He now has plenty since this is the only one I use. Would recommend this to everyone, even if you use a bag, it works great!!!

I thought this product was great, used it daily, several times a day at that. While sitting on my coffee table my cat knocked it over and the bottom broke right off. Im not certain how tipping over could shatter the bottom of this container but such is my luck. The item was wonderful and i took it everywhere for a time, but it is weak and easily breakable. If you're like me and clumsy/unlucky i would suggest a stainless steel mug since there isn't much of a warranty.

I use this tea tumbler almost every day! It is ideal for me at work and it fits in my cup holder when I take it home. The strainer gets build up on it sometimes, nothing a little dishwashing liquid & hot water can't remove after sitting for an hour or so (not the hand one, the dishwasher kind).

I use it with blooming teas and loose teas and i add a packet of splenda/stevia to mix when i put the hot water over it. I use the teas at the bottom, not sure why anybody would put the tea on top.

Overall, just awesome. I have had it since December of 2009 and it has not had any problems.

I didn't even kow I wanted this or needed it til I got it. It is really easy to use and clean and people ask about it too..I work a 12 hour shift and have been switching from coffee to tea. This is great cause there are so many more varieties in loose tea..and this is so easy to use.

The strainer is not the same quality as the Perfect Tea Maker I purchased and requires some double/triple re-straining to get rid of the tea particles. I will try the other commenter's suggestions on putting the tea in last and not first. This may help but then again I don't wanna put my fingers in the water. This was supposed to be an easy item that has turned into a pain at work. I recommend the perfect tea maker instead...it would be even less hassle at work even though it doesn't look like it. [...]
