Six Dragon Glass Tea Tumbler 11 oz

I've had this product for about 4 months and I absolutely love it. The product does what it says it will do. It will keep your tea hot for quite some time. I've often gotten busy, forgot about my tea, come back to it and it's still piping hot but just right for drinking.

People will "Ooo" and "Aah" over this item. The truth of the matter is that this is a functional showcase piece. Your tea will look stunning while it is steeping. I personally enjoy seeing the flavor stream into the water while I wait for my tea to finish steeping. I have ultimately had people learn about Teavana and new teas just from seeing me with this. (By the way, you will look awesome drinking out of this as well... just sayin)

There have been several complaints that this item is touchy, fragile and perhaps not worth the investment. No, you shouldn't put it in the dishwasher, no you cannot put it in the microwave. However, if you need to microwave it, you've left your tea sitting a little too long. (You get the most benefits while it's hot and fresh) and secondly... would you trust something this beautiful in the dishwasher? Maybe I'm partial because I don't use a dishwasher.

As for the strainer and the tension it puts on the glass: I noticed that right away. You can easily push the prongs on the side of the strainer in to reduce the tension or out to give a little more tension.

All in all, this is a fabulous piece! You will love it, so long as you are willing to give it the special care that it needs. Happy steeping!

this glass tumbler is obviously more fragile than most but if you treat it delicately then it's golden. i steep less bitter teas on the bottom and love to see the tea leaves unfurl and just keep the strainer in to drink. it's quite sturdy on the bottom and top so i don't worry about its landing when i put it on a different table or whatever. for green teas and other bitter teas i just steep the tea on the strainer on top and remove it carefully when it's done. after using this lovely tumbler i clean it out, place it back in its box, & throw it in my bag. it's a matter of having a system that works for you with this tumbler! it makes every tea occasion extremely exciting!

I just bought this yesterday and I'm in love with it. The price is amazing for how great of a product it is. It keeps my tea warm for up to 3 hours, I'm not a fast drinker, so this perfect. I've used it with my Strawberry Misaki blooming tea, and it's so gorgeous. The only thing is, is that it didn't come with clear directions on how to load loose tea into it with out getting the leaves stuck inside. The guy at the store said it was easier to do it in the perfect tea maker then put it in here, but I think that defeats the point of seeping the tea on the go. But it's not a big deal because it's beautiful!

I love this Glass so much I take it with me to work with my flavoite teas from Teavana. Bought the 11oz one to give it a try, seeing as I was afraid of dropping it. But now I'm going to get the 16oz so I can enjoy the Blooming teas inside. Makes a great gift for any tea lover.

I received this beautiful tumbler as a gift a few months ago. Since receiving it, I used it every day, washing it carefully as recommended and never used the microwave to reheat tea.

While the design and features of the tumbler are wonderful, I found particular difficulty with the strainer, which was very tight in the glass lip within the tumbler.

After about two months of use, I set it down one day on the counter, and heard a loud 'thunk'. I looked at my tumbler to see that the inner cylinder has cracked, right around the ring that holds the too-tight strainer, and the inner cylinder had fallen inside. It would appear that the constant strain on the glass from the strainer weakened it, and it had finally let loose.

I was extremely upset, not only because it was broken, but because it had not been broken by a drop or fall, as I feared it eventually would be, but because of a flaw in the actual design of the tumbler.

I strongly urge that anyone who seeks to purchase this tumbler take care in limiting the amount of stress from the strainer by removing it when not in use, or to purchase another tumbler, either from Tevana or another company. This one is simply too fussy and too flawed to be recommended wholeheartedly.

Got one for myself, as soon as my girlfriend saw it, I had to go back and get another one! Its beautiful! And feels alot sturdier than the review I read about it being flimsy. My new favorite tumbler!

The product is fragile, and I use it to bloom Momotaro tea balls.

As an ornate glass decantor for blooming Momotaro tea balls this product does not get any better. It is the envy of all my guests and easy to use and wash. I would strongly recommend this product as the center piece of any tea collection.

Because this glass tumbler is lined with 24 ct. gold- metal cannot go in the microwave and because it is so delicate, it cannot be washed in the dishwasher. This created a bit of a problem. I checked to see if it could go in the dishwasher and ruined it. Such a beautiful tumbler though. But reheating and cleaning seems a problem.
