I bought 10lbs and I'll buy more

Absolutely delicious. It brings tea-drinking to a whole new level - it enhances the natural flavours and complexities of tea. I've bought 10lbs and I'll buy more once that supply depletes.

When most people try Teavana for the first time, it is in the Teavana shops. In the Teavana shops, the sample tea is, in fact, sweetened with German Rock Sugar.
However, I have tried for months to perfect my tea blends. thinking that the samples in the Teavana store are unparalleled - I figured I needed the German Rock Sugar to perfect their taste, as recommended by a Teavana employee.

So, I bought a pound of this tasty delight and added it to my tea. It made a very subtle difference in the flavor profile. A difference not nearly worth the price, as it was hardly noticeable.

The tea loser that I am, I ran a tea tasting test. A tea sweetened with German Rock Sugar vs. it's placebo counterpart. Nine times out of ten, no one noticed a difference.

Personally, I either sweeten my tea with Honey, or just straight up cane sugar.

Regular sugar just doesn't cut it anymore. This rock sugar adds just the right amount of sweetness without adding any other flavor. It highlights the taste of the tea perfectly. While most of the time, I do take my tea neat, when I don't, I reach for a teaspoon or two of this rock sugar.

Perfectea German rock sugar is PERFECT! Does not change the flavor of your tea, only enhances and brings out light, teasingly sweet, and absolutely perfect symphonies of flavors in every tea combination I have tried thus far! Regular sugar can over sweeten a tea, or alter its base flavor. The German rock sugar crystals are a smooth, flavorful reminder that flavors can come together and be experienced as only the rock crystals can do!

I would not brew my fruit teas without it. Not sure what others do but I myself put it in WITH the loose tea while brewing. It is perfect!!!

I am a diabetic and this does not raise my blood sugar though I do use it sparingly.

I loved the flavor of the rock sugar it went well with the fireside oolong. I was a little disappointed that the sugar didn't come with the plate in the picture. If you over-steep your tea I used the sugar to soften the tea then used the Acadia honey to flavor it. (I've only done this once with dragon pearls) Over all its very versatile.

I used to drink my tea with rock candy, or Kandis as we call it in Germany, and was about to ask my mother in law to send me some from home. Found the 3 lbs jar at tevana by accident and was excited! Some may find it pricey, but it last a long time and it gives tea a special sweetness. Goes best for any black teas, Darjeeling or Ceylon or any Friesean mix. Put a spoonful or two into a porcelain cup and pour the tea over it. Now if I could find the Kluntje Kandis I would be in tea haven!

            Instructions

            By A Helpful Employee

The best way to replicate that in-store taste from your rock sugar is to first brew your water . After your water is at the set temperature put your rock sugar in and let it dissolve. The amount of sugar you need to add to the water just depends on how sweet you like your tea. After the sugar has dissolved, you steep your tea leaves, strain, and presto; you tea is good to go.

If you are thinking you can just save money and use regular sugar, you are very wrong. If you ever do a taste test between tea sweetened with rock sugar and tea sweetened with regular sugar, the difference its astounding. It is definitely a must have. You won't regret it (especially if you're like me and eat them while your tea is steeping like they are candy).

I love sweet and fruity teas and never used to add sweetener. I tried the the Chocolate Caramel Sea Salt though and was very disappointed. When I mentioned it in store the girl at the counter talked me into trying again with some of the Rock Sugar...it was like a different tea! Very little sugar made a very big difference in taste. I now keep stocked in the Rock Sugar and find it the perfect compliment to any tea with chocolate and many of the spicy ones like Winterberry. I sometimes alternate with honey but just love the flavour and convenience of the rock sugar.
