Rock Sugar Jar (3lb)

I'm new to Teavana so during my first purchase at the store, I was told that German Rock Sugar was added to some of the teas to give them a light sweetness. I'm glad I purchased it. The sugar rocks easily dissolves in the tea and adds a natural texture and taste to the tea. I have gone from using sugar because it never dissolved completely to artificial sweeteners that left the after taste. The German Rock Sugar is excellent. No more sweeteners for me! Besides, that would be an insult to any Teavana tea.

Great product, will not use processed sugar again for my teas.

Like everyone before me said, the rock sugar truly adds wonderful sweetness without taking away from the taste of the tea. However, the pricing and packaging of the 3lb rock sugar is terrible. The container is not air-tight and can allow sugar ants to get inside the container. Be careful. However, what I do recommend is taking your own container in and filling it with the 1lb sugar at a time. That suggestion has been very helpful to me.

Teavana really could have done better with packaging and pricing for this incredible product. The jar is not air tight, and if you were to drop it…..If they fix the packaging and price appropriately I will come back to the 3 pound container, but until then, I will continue to go back and buy a couple of the 1 lb bags and keep in my own container.

Now to the good part. This rock sugar is amazing. Each little crystal gem adds such a subtle natural sweetens to enhance (not cover up) your tea. This does not distort the tea in any way. Not to mention that it is just as good as any candy plain. Yummmy

I never used to drink tea as much as I now do, thanks to the Fine T gourmet tea making machine. I never used to go through the rock cane sugar as much either, though I've gone through about a pound a week so far and after going back to teavana 3xs in less than a month I knew it was time to splurge on the 3lb jar! I NEVER like to add too much sugar to my teas but most of the teas I drink (mates and herbals) really need just a hint of sugar and I feel better about adding cane sugar and haven't used regular bleached sugar since then! I once read a tip that if you add more than a tsp per 8oz cup, you might as well be drinking sugar water.

This addition to the Teavana Family compliments many varieties of different Tea's that I have tasted and purchased. I used it daily and enjoy the flavor profile it ads to my tea hot or cold.

I never knew so much about tea until I visited your store. I purchased this product (sugar) and cannot believe how wonderful the tea was with this sugar added. It really does not change the flavor of the tea, but gives it a subtle sweetness that is wonderful! I am very pleased, and the glass jar is very nice as well!

I love the rock sugar...absolutely love it. BUT I cannot believe that Teavana is selling this sugar for over twenty bucks when the containers are the discontinued items of a well known retail store with the white and black boxes (which I have as well)that were all of four dollars or less regular price! Total rip off on Teavana's behalf. Ridiculous!
