I love my cast iron teapot. It was a gift from my husband at a difficult transition time in our lives; I was told that dragonflies symbolize "new beginnings." I have the trivet, and love to light a tea light, put the pot on after brewing, and sip steaming tea all evening long. I do find that the hobnail cups can get too warm to hold in my hands comfortably.
A NOTE OF CAUTION: DH once put the cast iron teapot on a low flame to warm up the tea; the finish was damaged, and is more black than green now. :0( I was so sad... but the teapot still makes great tea!

This was a highly anticipated purchase. To my surprise, my sturdy old ceramic in its flannel cozy keeps tea hotter longer. However, this teapot is good for sharing a cup with a friend and for display. I especially like the included infuser.

Comments about Teavana Dragonfly Cast Iron Teapot:
I purchased this teapot, trivet, two cups and saucers, and a few teas in order to incorporate more tea and less coffee into my life. I conducted quite a bit of research and studied many tea sets before deciding on this one. I really love it. It is aesthetically pleasing and the cast iron has a nice heavy feel. It is important to warm the teapot with hot water before steeping or the tea will not stay warm as long as it would otherwise. I typically put hot tap water in the teapot while waiting for my tea kettle to boil. Then, I pour it out and steep my tea. Overall, I love this set and look forward to preparing and enjoying my tea each day.

Comments about Teavana Dragonfly Cast Iron Teapot:
My husband wanted to get this for me last year for Christmas, but we couldn't afford it. So this year he was able to purchase it along with two teas, two cups, and two coasters. I've used it every day since Christmas! I love it. I love that every thing he got to go with it has a meaning. It is a wonderful starter tea pot and I'm sure I will use it for years to come!

Comments about Teavana Dragonfly Cast Iron Teapot:
I love, love, love this teapot. My husband bought this and the matching cups for my birthday. We have used it now 3 times in two days. I love the look and design. The pot is heavy weight and I love how easy it is to clean. This is a perfect addition to our kitchen/dining experience at home.

Comments about Teavana Dragonfly Cast Iron Teapot:
I use this pot to make tea just about every day after work. I love the little mesh infuser that was included. It keeps tea hot for about an hour on its own, but with a teapot warmer, it stays warm all evening.

Comments about Teavana Dragonfly Cast Iron Teapot:
I bought the black and gold dragonfly teapot with 2 cups to start and the cast iron warmer. I love it! The quality is great, and the cups have a nice heavy feel in your hands. The cups are on the small to med size which I love so your tea does not cool down too fast. One teapot fills about five of the dragonfly cups. Buying this has definitely made me sip more loose tea in a relaxing way. I got my husband into tea now too and it's a great way to unwind and chat at the end of a long day.

Comments about Teavana Dragonfly Cast Iron Teapot:
Can ruin finish if use on open flame other than a trivet. I found on the flat top stove the warming burner keeps it just right with no effect on the finish.

This is an addition/edit to my other, longer review for this item. Regarding my previous review comment on the color of the tea pots - mine is the beautiful gold/black - this pot is also available in three other very pretty colors; when I read my review I realized my comment on the color may seem to indicate a color discrepancy to what is shown online. Not so! Mine in gold/black looks exactly like [even more beautiful than] the online picture for that color tea pot- so I'm sure the others will as well! This is a beautiful tea pot.

Comments about Teavana Dragonfly Cast Iron Teapot:
I received this beautiful teapot, along with the matching heat trivet and a set of cups, as a gift. It's absolutely wonderful. Quality craftsmanship, heavy cast iron, and looks very nice sitting out! Mine is a reddish brown color [whereas online the color looks green in one pic and almost silver in another]. Definitely keeps tea warm, especially if pre-warmed with some hot water first. As other reviewers have said, this tea pot does NOT go directly on the flame. The tea basket inside is a generous size. I did try making tea in this pot w/out the basket, letting the leaves float free and straining as I poured into our cups. The tea was delicious but since the pot is a "flat" sort of shape cleaning the leaves from the pot was quite the chore. Therefore, for those who like to have the tea swirl around in the water (and not use the basket) this design might not appeal to them. Note about the trivet - I didn't move it on our kitchen counter for a couple days and when I did I noticed it left a rust ring behind. My fault - the trivet, like the pot, is cast iron, so I should have known better. But all the same, keep that in mind when leaving the pot/trivet out. All in all this is a beautiful, high quality tea pot! Also - the same pot comes in different symbolism designs, which is very nice, especially with the available list of meanings behind each symbol. Makes a wonderful gift!!
