I am a working mom with 2 kids - so this was suggested in making my coversion from coffee to tea easier. It is great. I add the water and then by the time I have the car loaded it is ready to go. It stays warm most the morning...as some days I get busy and don't get a chance to finish it right away. I do agree w/some of the ratings that some small pieces go through the strainer, but if you tilt the cup so the water goes down the side this seems to be minimized. Honestly just the ease of it make a few tea leaves seem silly!

I use this product every day, twice a day. It definitely keeps the tea hot and I love that I can let the leaves steep. But the problem is that the lid tends to leak so you have to be careful when taking the first few sips.

As a flight attendant I am constantly on the road and looking for something that travels easy and keeps temperatures for several hours. I have tried many other types of containers that claim to keep beverages hot for several hours. This one actually works. I was amazed that I could fill it up before I went to work and 8 hours later when I needed that extra pick-me-up my tea was still hot. Of course this was because I didn't remove the lid during that time, but if you were to I've found my tea still stays warm for a considerable amount of time. I actually lost the first one I purchased and got another because I didn't want to waste my money on another tumbler that didn't work. A definate must have for anyone on the go.

I purchased this with such high expectations but unfortunately found it lacking. The most important part - the one that should be most functional is the one that is the most disappointing. The mesh strainer is way too big and all the small pieces float right through the mesh and have to picked out. It really takes the joy out of using it. Now it just sits in my cupboard cause its more work than its worth. Very Disappointing.

I think this product is on the right path. I'm almost forced to use it. The fact you have to switch caps is annoying and frustrating. It only holds 11 ounces compared to Teavana Tea Rhapsody Glass Tea Tumbler which holds 16 oz with a strainer.

Love the idea of this - brewing and drinking tea in the same tightly sealed container that stays warm all day. But all the good is overshadowed by the fact that the filter is way too big - and too much tea slips through. I don't want to be restricted to larger leaf tea when using this because all the other features are perfect. Thermos needs to actually test and DRINK the tea before they decide it's good enough to sell next time. I would love to hear they have corrected this - I would easily purchase another one!

I use this everyday as a thermos and it works great and retains heat for long periods. My only issue with it is the strainer. It can only be used for very large leaves. you can not use it for rooibus, mate or any tea containing small particles. When I discovered this, I was very disappointed, since that was the main reason I purchased it. I wanted something where I did not need tea bags and this did not provide that. Had I known, I would have bought a cheaper thermos.

It would be nice if the strainer was a little more fine, as some teas with fine particles will get through and sink in. These can become oversteeped and give it a bitter flavor near the end. However this thermos does keep the tea warm for an impressively long time. I'm used to my old one where my tea would be room temperature by the time I get to work--with this it is still hot. Perfect for larger particle teas and darker teas that can steep longer times. I wish Thermos made a larger capacity version, since it does so well keeping it warm long enough. Would only need to brew once. As travel mugs go, I think you can't do any better.

This product really works! It brews tea that tastes just as good as when its brewed in the perfect tea maker or using other products. The only problem is certain very small tea leaves can slip through the holes in the strainer, and the pearl teas they sell at Teavana don't work as well in it because there is not enough room for them to bloom out. I don't use the pearls or small leaf teas often so I don't have much of a problem there.

It really does keep the tea hot for 4+ hours as long as you have everything screwed on tight. It doesn't leak at all. It keeps cold drinks cold even longer!

I love taking this to school and steeping one set of tea 2 or 3 times during the day. Its very convenient.

My only real cons for this product are that its pretty pricey and you can't put it in the dishwasher-all the parts are easy to clean but it'd be nice to just let the dishwasher do the work sometimes :P

My one major suggestion on how the company could improve this product would be to give a second screw on lid and some sort of carrying container for the strainer. If you are using the strainer on the go you have to take off the strainer to drink the tea and replace it with the sip top. Then you have no where to put the strainer! I like brewing a few batches of tea during the day at school and have to put the strainer in a plastic baggie-it gets really messy and I've had to be really creative with some rubber bands/saran wrap to make it easier. If the company gave you a second screw on lid you could put it on the strainer to keep the tea leaves in, and if they gave some sort of case it would prevent it from leaking everywhere and the mesh getting bent in my bag.

i like the mug, although it could be bigger. I bought it and returned it after a couple of uses. The only problem i haev is that the filter screen does not filter out the tea. I had to dump the last lil bit in the cup because it was filled with tea leaves. Kinda takes the enjoyment out. I hope they improve the filter. The screen needs to be finer.

I bought this after having buying it as a gift for a friend. I use it between home and office, my commute includes a train ride which makes the lid ideal. I made tea at noon yesterday and at 8 pm I was at home sipping warm tea. It's easy to use, but some smaller leaf teas will slip through the strainer. I was scared at first to flip it upside down to brew, but it doesn't leak and works fantastically!

This was a gift from my husband before I took off on a month-long work trip to Ethiopia and most days I used it 2-3 times. Green tea in the morning ready to carry to work and, with a travel water kettle, I was able to make my favorite afternoon tea at the office. Very portable, easy to clean, and keeps its contents hot for a long time!

Thermos has come out with a great travel mug. I brew my tea and throw the lid on this when running out the door to go to work. I also love that it will stay warm for hours. I often make tea at work but I get so busy I forget to drink it before it gets cold. No longer a problem with this mug. Hours will go by and still hot tea. Can't wait to use it on a road trip. I think I might buy one for my husband. Or for me to have 1 in each location so I don't have to bing to back and forth from work. Awesome. Would buy another one in a second.
One more thing, thermos does not mess around with poor quality seals that might leak. You will not find this mug ever leaking those hot liquids on you like some of the competing travel mugs.

This mug is worth every penny. I hesitated at the price, but now I would recommend it to everyone. I have several travel mugs, but this one retains heat longer than any mug I have ever used.

Often I get side tracked and my tea used to get cold. I would end up wasting more tea than I drank. With this mug, the tea stays hot for hours and I rarely have to toss out tea. I save more money on tea than I spent on this mug.

Sometimes the tea is still hot after six hours and it has been warm after 10 hours. I have not had another handheld mug that matched this performance.

The ONLY con is the strainer. Fine teas slip through, but I use one of the many fine strainers I have for individual brewing, so this problem is no big deal.

This is the best travel mug I have ever bought and I have many. The price is high but you get what you pay for. It keeps products HOT or COLD for hours and does not spill. I also love how the sipping part sits low so that you do not burn or spill on yourself. I wish they made this in a larger size. As soon as they do, I am going to buy it!

I received this mug as a gift over three years ago and it's still going strong. It stays warm all day and doesn't leak even after being dropped and beaten up on my treks across the US and Europe. I laughed to see someone else has a "thumb rest" type dent in their mug! This mug goes with me literally everywhere. The best part is the tea strainer, which does great on the road. At home, I admit, I brew my loose tea first and then pour it into the mug. Depending on the tea, the strainer does not work as well as I would like. It is also easy to clean. If this one ever wears out I will definitely buy another.

I really enjoyed using the mug like many responders commented it keeps tea hot for 8 hours or more. So be careful when you drink it if you've placed really hot water in it. The mug is very easy to use load it with tea and your sugar and flip it over as you go out the door. I have ony two complaints. The stainer is not fine enough to filter fine teas. If you don't mind floaties you'll be fine. Lastly, there is no replacement parts. If you loose your stainer your out of luck. Its a pretty expensive mug to replace for one part.

I got this product a week ago, shipped to me by my parents for my birthday (along with awesome tea). I already had the perfect tea maker, but I didn't bring it with me and I don't use it as much as I would like, but this I use everyday at the office (twice). It is so nice and on top of everything else, you only have to clean one thing. Incredibly useful, I love it so much!

The strainer is not fine enough to utilize with most loose leaf tea. You must utilize a loose leaf bag or something else to make it work. Easy fix to a big issue. I can not believe anyone would want one of these with this issue. I can only think others have a different version that actually works.

I bought this product for my husband for Christmas, and got a far BETTER product than I expected! It really does keep your tea hot for AT LEAST 8 hours as stated, and the leak proof seal really is leak proof - my husband puts his sugar, tea, and hot water in before he leaves for work, puts the lid on, tosses it in to the car (usually on its side), and shakes it when he gets to work to blend the sugar - so far, not so much as a dribble has leaked out the side. This is an EXCEPTIONAL product!

I work 12 hr shifts at night as a 911 dispatcher without easy access to an area that makes brewing tea easy. I bought one of these about a month ago and I swear, using it as directed ( i.e. pre heating w/hot/warm water), I can make my tea at 1730 - be ready to drink at 0100 or 0200 and it is still very very warm!! If I drink as soon as i get to work, it's hot! I realize now that I need 2 - - one for immediate use and one for the 0200 hour. It's the perfect solution to a frustrating work problem!

This thermos is fabulous. I fill it up in the morning before I leave for work and I am guaranteed that my tea will still be hot, even at the end of the day. This really, really keeps your tea hot, so be careful not to scald your mouth thinking that it has already cooled a bit.

This mug works perfectly for both tea or coffee and is great for traveling since the lid screws on tight. I have used this mug religiously 4-5 days/week for the last 1.5-2 years and it has stood up well. Even with a dent (a great thumb hold now), it remains structurally awesome and I will continue to use it for years since nothing comes close! A co-worker called it my "coffee tube" due to its sleek design. I couldn't ask for anything more from this coffee mug.

I have hot coffee all day! I make coffee in the morning, take some to go-- it's still hot when I get to work, even in the middle of the winter. I usually get coffee after lunch and it stays hot all afternoon! I guess you could say the same for tea and I really like the little tea strainer. Some may say the mug is a little too small... I personally think it's perfect size though.

I take this mug with me every where I go. I not only use it to make and drink tea in; I use it for all my drinks. I have been traveling on the road every weekend for a month and I take it with me to restaurants and gas stations. No one has a problem filling it up for me. Everything stays hot/cold for a really long time. I have to purpose to take the lid off and let my hot drinks cool.
Sometimes its leaves too many leaves in drink after straining.
