I've struggled with varying levels of insomnia since I was a teenager. I got this tea partly to use as a new bedtime tea for myself, but also because I've always liked chamomile and mint combinations in other brands of tea. This tea was pretty standard tasting. I guess I expected more richness of flavor based on the ingredients. While it wasn't offensive at all, to me it seemed kind of weak. I hate to say it, but I've gotten more flavorful teas from the grocery store. Maybe I needed to add more tea, and I will try that tonight when I have it again. I'm not sure how to improve it. I personally might like a little more peppermint in the blend and less fruity flavor. That said, however, the tea did do an excellent job at relaxing me before bed. I slept quite well last night after a particular brutal bout of insomnia the night before. I would still recommend it. Just play with the amount of tea perhaps to get a richer cup.

I have never bought into teas that claim to aid in sleep, as I have tried several and never noticed any effects. With this tea, however, I was ready to sleep all night after my first sip. There is something extremely calming and soothing about this tea. It has become a nightly ritual for me to drink two cups or more before bed, and I have noticed myself sleeping much more soundly all through the night than I used to. This tea also stands up well to multiple brewings, although I make it a little stronger than the instructions suggest, as I find it a little too light otherwise. The PERFECT nighttime tea.

I love to relax with a mug of Tranquil Dream as I wind down for bed. The chamomile and citrus notes blend beautifully for a well-rounded flavor that's like wrapping your brain in a warm blanket on a cold night. I enjoy plain chamomile tea, but the other flavors really take this to the next level.

I really like this tea, and it is soothing, but I think that it would be absolutely perfect with some Valerian root added to the blend. It would definitely enhance the natural sleep aid properties of the tea. ;)

All that aside, it does help calm me before I go to sleep. I love both lemongrass and chamomile so this tea is wonderful. Just a bit of orange blossom honey is all it needs. :)

This is a very soothing and relaxing tea. I love the slight citrus flavor and it smells fantastic. My absolute favorite before bed tea is Swiss Vervaine Melange, but this tea comes in as a very close 2nd!

I love this tea! I normally am not a fan of chamomile mixes (I like straight chamomile, and loathe the pairing of spearmint/cham) but this one is amazing! It has a nice lemon/chamomile taste with JUST a hint of mint. Nana mint has a different flavor to it too than spearmint or peppermint; it's much softer and a bit more citrus-y. This is a great night-time tea. I'm not sure yet whether it helps to sleep or not, as this is my first time tasting it, but it's not hurting that any! It also doesn't need any sweetener.

I love this tea as far as flavor but it isnt a bedtime tea in my opinion. I have had bedtime teas that make me tired or prepare me for a good night sleep and I didnt feel this was one of them. In fact, I feel that it kept me up on the nights that I drank it before bed so now I have taken it to work to enjoy.

I am surprised at just how effective this tea is at relaxing me and helping me fall asleep. I have generalized anxiety disorder and take Lexapro daily to manage that and xanax as needed for my anxiety. I also have trouble falling asleep on most nights (yes, even when I take Xanax!). I had been taking benadryl (never had to go as far as taking a Rx sleeping pill), but hated the idea that I was taking yet another artificial relaxant on top the meds I already take for anxiety. Surprisingly, this tea has been the solution. I drink it within a half hour of when I want to go to sleep and I am ready for bed as soon as I finish the cup. I also really enjoy the aroma and just hold it under my nose and take deep breaths between sips.

My first try of this tea had a taste that was familiar but I couldn't place my finger on. But after a few days I figured it out.......Froot Loop cereal. With just a small amount of sugar this tea brings back childhood mememories while being healthy for me.

i tried to use this to help me settle down before bedtime, and it did it's job. the aroma of the leaves is wonderful; however i found the aroma of the brewed tea itself to be very bitter, which took away from what would have been a light, fresh herbal taste. I almost had to force myself to drink it down, because the flavor was good but at the expense of the bitter smell. It's not a tea I will be buying again, but it's not bad enough that i'd want to toss it out.

My boyfriend is a HUGE chamomile fan, so I thought I would get him this tea as an early Christmas gift. I brewed it for him exactly as the directions specified, and added a bit of sweetener. His response to the tea was that it was "okay", but that he thought chamomile tea was better. Personally, I find chamomile too medicinal for my tastes, so I actually preferred this blend, as it's smoother and has more of a citrus undertone. Even so, while there's nothing technically wrong with the blend, I did not find the flavor anything special. Also, we did not notice any of the calming or relaxing effects that other reviewers have mentioned.

On the bright side, I do think this tea is probably good for colds and flus -- chamomile and vitamin C (from the orange) sounds like a good combination for such ailments.

This is chamomile-based, so it is very soothing. I brought a couple of ounces home with me so I would have something non-caffeinated to enjoy in the evenings. I can't necessarily say that it made me sleep any better, but I can compliment it's high quality whole chamomile flowers and other ingredients. It's a nice alternative to caffeinated teas!

Followed directions, but I found the tea to be way too citrusy to enjoy. I tend to prefer black teas, so perhaps I am not a fan of herbal tea. My wife, however, loved it!! Also, it does not make us "sleepy" but we noticed that we both slept better than when we don't drink it.

This is the only flowery tea I've tried so far and I love it! I tried this on a night when I was having difficulty winding down, which happens often, and was impressed by the results. I originally was looking for a chamomile tea and I found this. I have had sleep problems and figured that it would be a nice attempt to deal with it for once. Here's what I discovered, to my ultimate delight:

This tea does not require sweetener but a half of a teaspoon of sugar can really pop the flavors out. Splendid flavor.

It does help put you in both the mood and mindset for sleep. I took it twice at night and had some rather deep sleep. It actually gave me dreams, which is a rarity to be in that deep of a sleep for me.

The scent is splendid. It makes me really excited because I know I am in for a real treat. It's always a precursor to a good time.

And in the end I confess that I have never had a bad experience with tea. It is not really worth steeping a second time though but for how much you get for the price it's still worthwhile.

I made this tea yesterday after buying it from the store. I took it straight home and was very excited to find out what it would taste like. I'm not going to give it a bad score because it's my fault for buying a tea that has flowers in it's blend. I do not like floral teas. I will rate this with a completely unbiased and fair approach.

As I drink it and write this review I'm rating it a 4 because it is a fairly good tasting blend. If you like floral teas you might enjoy the light petal flavors from the hibiscus and rosebuds. If you like strong teas this may not be the one for you. It smells like sweet minty medicine (in a good way). The lemongrass, nana-mint, and chamomile stands out the most. Can be bitter easily (just don't brew too long). It's probably more of an evening tea especially since it has calming chamomile in it. It makes me feel more relaxed just from smelling it. Great before bed!

I will not purchase this again but I would recommend this to a friend.

I had to try this tea after reading the reviews. I have trouble sleeping and usually can't get through a night without waking up many times. Everytime I drink before bedtime, I don't wake up at all during the night. I feel so rested in the morning. This is a great solution compared to medicines or supplements. It's a very soothing tea. My only complaint is that it does make my throat a bit scratchy, and being a singer, it's not ideal. Nonetheless, whenever I can't sleep, one cup makes me fall asleep fast! I highly recommend if you have sleeping problems.

I'm a highschool student, always working and always on the run. I just bought this tea because of all the "relaxing" reviews, and it is exactly that. I'm very high-anxiety, and this calms my nerves perfectly. It doesn't put me to sleep, it just lulls me a little. This is an exclellent tea choice if you want something good to drink before u wind down to go to bed. The flavor is top notch and the effects are great. If you like cammomile, this is a good choice, the only thing i find wrong with it, if you dont sweeten it, its a little bitter, but thats an easy fix. Great on its own and also good combined with others, i personall like it combined with the rooibos tropica, mixed with that its literally one of the best teas ive ever tasted. I also sometimes have a hard time sleeping and after drinking this tea, i relax as soon as i lay down. This tea is a muscle relaxer and u can feel it get to work in just a few sips. I have been on sleeping pills (Ambien and Lunesta) for approximately 3 year and under the care of 3 sleep specialists, 2 of which are rated in the top 10 for the DC metro area in their field. All of them have placed me on multiple sleep programs, none of which worked. Somehow I always had to go back to the sleeping pills in order to fall asleep. I began to research different things I could do to resolve my chronic insomnia such as yoga, exercising before bed, no caffeine, eating healthy, lose weight (40 lbs), listen to jazz, light candles in the bedroom, read in bed, no naps during the day and light therapy. None of those things worked and medically I am healthy as a horse so there was no reason why I should not have been sleeping. Recently I began to notice that the side effects from the sleeping pills were really starting to kick in after all these years and I was having panic attacks, feelings of aggression and agitation and terrible headaches. I knew that no matter what I was going to have to dump all the bottles in the toilet and never take another one again. I told a friend of mine about this issue and my long battle with it and he suggested going to Teavana to see if they had chamomille tea. I went in and although they did not have straight chamomille tea the lady suggested Tranquil Dream. Two other customers in the store told me that hands down that was the best nighttime tea ever and that I should get a bunch now because they always sell out of it so I did. At first I was reluctant because I have suffered with severe insomnia for years but that first night that I drank the tea (3 teaspoons for 8 ounces) I slept pretty darned good. So now every night around 11 p.m. I have a cup of tea and within the next hour or so I am in la la land for the night. I wake up fully refreshed, no hangover or grogginess and ready to start my day. I am so happy that I have finally found something that does not involve a prescription drug that helps me in getting good sleep every night. I highly recommend this product to anyone who is having difficulty. I don't even need to add sugar or honey to it either.

I just received my tea purchases today and the first one I wanted to try was this one. I added some rock sugar & agave nectar to my cup and I made a mistake and put 1.5 tsp of tea to 16oz. of H20. However, after two huge sips of tea I started to feel woozy/dizzy and I was thinking to myself, wow all of a sudden I'm so sleep! So, now I'm sipping more tea and I'm really ready to good to bed and it's just 7:24pm.

The clerk sold this to me because it was "like Sleepy Time tea", which I FORMERLY used to relax at night. I'm not sure if it's because I'm trying to unwind, but I can feel myself getting more and more sleepy as I drink this. I've never had a bedtime tea quite like this one. Over time, I've accepted the fact that I can enjoy the benefits of a sleep aid tea, but not the taste... and then Tranquil Dream came along and proved me wrong! This tea really is delicious. It's more citrusy than I expected, but it's still very soothing. This tea is named appropriately! It is great before bed and when you are sick. I like it plain, but have tried it with a squeeze of lemon and touch of honey when I was sick and let me just say, it is AMAZING this way! Definitely would recommend if you have trouble sleeping. I've been cutting out sugary coffee drinks from my diet. I don't crave them anymore, but I had been wanting something to drink other than water and protein shakes. I agree that two teaspoons may be more beneficial than the recommended amount. I also let it steep a little longer than recommended too. This is my first tea from Teavana and I will be buying more of this (when my half pound is gone) and some other flavors I've been spying. This tea has a simple calming flavor that is slightly fruity and all-around tasty although I think I let it steep a little too long or the water wasn't the right temperature cause it seemed a little bitter. This product has changed our lives. We are no longer taking Ambien CR before bed. We make a nice pot of hot tea, and it relaxes us and makes us sleepy. There's no issue of a medicine hang over any more, and we both feel that our sleep has been deeper (more vivid dreams - REM) and we feel energized and refreshed in the morning.

More doctors need to recommend natural remmedies, such as a good night time herbal tea. This tea has changed our lives. We hope that it will be helpful to more people.

One minor note: We have the tendency to let the tea remain in the tea pot strainer while we drink it (for max benefit). If it seeps too long however, it gets a little bitter. Otherwise it's smooth, tasty, and wonderful. Add a small tsp of unprocessed honey to the pot, for it's healthful benefits as well. Did you know that honey also helps you sleep?

Making this tea as the bag suggests makes a really weak flavor for me, so I brewed it at around 200 degrees with 2 tsp instead of 1.5 for about 6 minutes, the flavor was much more potent and pleasing. Also I would recommend adding just a touch of sweetener, not too much though since it's a naturally sweet tea in the first place.
Be careful when opening up your tin or bag, there is a lot of this tea per 2oz! I split some when I was taking it out of my tin, whoops.

This is by far my favorite tea. This tea when used in a Yixing teapot is fabulous. I have the Buddha Tree Yixing Tea pot. The flavor is greatly enhanced using this type of pot. This tea is worth buying by the 1b. It is a great value and great if you have a stressful life.

Have a difficult time sleeping at night and this tea helped immediately. My mother-in-law achieved the same results. She never slept more than 2 hrs at a time, with this tea she slept 4 hrs straight for the first time in over 10 yrs! AND...it tastes great especially with a little sugar!

This a great tea for relaxing. I usually have one each night before I go to bed. Seems to calm me down and helps get me in the "comfort zone" for the sleeping.

I will say that the fruity taste can be a tad too strong, so I just add a little more chamomile into the mix which helps tone it down.

The reference of "liquid Ambien" someone told me was spot-on!

No, it's nothing magical, but it certainly helps me calm down and makes me a bit drowsy.

This tea is absolutely amazing. It is so relaxing. It is the only thing I looked forward too after a stressful day at work. It even helped me tolerate my nagging wife. Gosh, it even prevented us divorsing. Every time I was about to leave her she would make me the tea and I go back to my cage in peace.

I have always liked black and green teas but when I started having migraines i read that Chamomile helped so I tried this tea, with great results.
I enjoy the relaxing effects but when I begin to feel a migraine setting in, I brew a pot and it seems to soothe the headache right away. It may not work for everyone, but it worked for me.

Love this tea. I have been using it for over two years. The aroma is outstanding and envigorating in itself. Everynight, although I cannot prove that it has the most calming effect, I never have trouble sleeping when I drink this before bedtime. Unfortunately, there is no category for 'nose' and like fine wines, Tranquil Dreams has an extraordinary nose-a grand treat from the time one opens the can til the last drop.

I would also speak to appearance, Tranquil Dreams is beautiful; its reds, greens and yellows very pleasing to the eye. Spread out on a paper doily it is lovely.
