Beautiful and symbolic. Featuring a brightly plumed kingfisher (a symbol of luck) perched upon a blooming peony branch (a symbol of Spring, female beauty and prosperity), this mug was created using a firing technique created during the Ming Dynasty(1368-1644 AD) in China. The luminescent, silky glaze is impossible to resist and helps the hand gilded gold and colors leap off of the tea cup. The red chop mark is translated, May your dreams come true . This 10oz mug includes a matching, removable infuser and lid. So you can make your tea right in the cup!

Comments about Teavana Ming Dynasty, Curious Kingfisher Mug:

I received this mug as a gift from a friend. I didn't realize what the infuser was at first, but I figured it out pretty quickly. It is an extremely beautiful design and fun to show off at work, though I do wish there was a way for those holes in the infuser to be a little smaller. Sometimes bits of tea get stuck in them and it's difficult to clean them out. I'm fine with it however since you don't necessarily have to use it for the infuser, it works just fine as a mug.

Comments about Teavana Ming Dynasty, Curious Kingfisher Mug:

This mug is beautiful, it looks bettter in person than online, but the holes in the infuser are too large for anything but high quality whole leaf tea, like monkey picked oolong or Black dragon pearls. If you like Rooiboe, Mate, or any of the smaller leaf black teas the leave fall right through the holes. too bad because it's so visually appealing.
