Brand: Teavana

Traditional Earl Grey is modernized by adding bergamot essence to white tea. White tea is the highest in antioxidants and lowest in caffeine, which makes this a very healthy choice. Studies suggest Bergamot oil acts as a mild anti-depressant. Unique and delicious!

I simply love this tea! I prefer to drink it on weekend afternoons while reading, watching a movie or spending time catching up on my e-mails. I have it on its own or I blend with Honeybush vanilla, adding just a touch of german rock sugar - perfect combo!

Comments about Teavana Earl Grey White Tea:

I am a regular early grey drinker. I have tried many types of teas from rooibos too white to green. At this point I just drink what I enjoy, Earl Grey. White Earl Grey is an Oxymoron. If you're an Earl Grey drinker looking for a low-caf variant, don't dissappoint yourself with this one. Try the Frutto Bianco Pearls White which at least has some flavor.

Comments about Teavana Earl Grey White Tea:

After decades of being an Earl Gray Black drinker, I eased into Earl Gray Green (Taylors) and now over to loose white. This tea is my go to morning choice. Sometimes I may add a pinch of the Earl Gray Black to the 2nd cup for variety. It can get bitter from oversteeping and I suggest you try 3-4 minutes- 5 is almost always too long.

Comments about Teavana Earl Grey White Tea:

Earl Grey just sounds so stuffy, so I avoided this tea for a long time. WHY?! I've seriously been missing out on this delicate, soothing, cup of exquisite-smelling tea. Granted, if I didn't work at Teavana and didn't make tea for a living, I know for a fact I'd burn the living tar out of it. I must say, I've burnt more Earl Grey White than any other tea. For some reason, it is extremely quick to get bitter, so if you don't like that, be extremely careful- make sure the water is 175 degrees MAX (I add an ice cube even to that)and be careful that you don't steep it for a single second longer than 2 minutes (Tip- your tea is still steeping when you are draining it, so start draining it before the timer goes off).

Comments about Teavana Earl Grey White Tea:

I brewed my first pot of this at the recommended strength, and found the bergamot to be too overpowering. The second time around, I used slightly less (4 tbsp of tea for three cups, instead of 4.5), which was tolerable, but still not something that I would want to revisit.

Teavana, I think you should cut down on the bergamot, at least by 25% or so. The essence ought to compliment the flavor of the tea, not smother it.

I love this tea. I am an electrician in oklahoma. I come home and steep a cup or two of earl grey white and relax before gettin to the house work. I have loved tea since i was in high school, and earl grey was always a favorite of mine. This tea blows every other tea I've had out of the water. I just wish it was a little stronger, but it is a white tea, so there you go!

Comments about Teavana Earl Grey White Tea:

This is the best cup of tea I have ever had. I am a relatively new Teavana drinker and had only ever had bagged tea before. A cup of this Earl Grey White compares to bags in the same way that a Maybach or Rolls Royce compares to a Yugo or a Pacer. This tastes so natural and refreshing, truly allowing one to realize the synthetic taste behind the major name-brand bags. The bergamot is far from overpowering, and taste can be manipulated by adding slightly greater or lesser amounts of leaves to the pot. The color and nose are both very pleasing and the general nature of the tea makes it appropriate to drink at any time.

I find there to be two cons to this tea.

1) It, like any white tea, can be burnt with water that is too hot. Take your water off before it boils and perhaps let it cool for a few minutes (or buy a kettle with a thermometer).

2) Cleaning this tea out of my Belle Amitie is a bit more difficult than with black teas. I don't know why, but it just is. No matter... it is worth it all the way!

I drink my tea black and without any sweeteners. Enjoy!

This has replaced my mug of Earl Grey Black tea I usually take to work with me every morning. It is definitely a lighter taste than the black tea but for the health benefits of white tea vs. black I can live with it. It's great to actually be able to see the bergamont flowers in the mix.

Be careful of using too hot water to steep the tea as this one is quick to bitter.

Comments about Teavana Earl Grey White Tea:

With a beautiful aroma similar to a forest in the fall, the Earl Grey White has this amazing ability to bite every so gently at your tongue, and finish with a relaxing smoothness that you can feel down to your core. I'm a nervous person by design, and a warm cup of this before bed seems to put every thing in my life back into balance. It's taste is seemingly unlike anything I've tasted, being slightly veggy-like in palate and very woodsy, but DO NOT let this deter you in any way! By adding a half a teaspoon of honey after seeping makes it all the more enjoyable. I want to enjoy more teas, yet I always come back to this one. They should rename this tea "Peaceful Evening".

Comments about Teavana Earl Grey White Tea:

I love this tea, it is unbelievable. It contains ingredients that make me happy and relaxed. Wonderful taste and flavor. However, if you do not like strong flavors, this tea may not be for you. I love strong flavors: strong coffee, strong tea. Therefore this tea is perfect for me. I steep huge amounts per serving (3-4 overflowing spoons) and I steep it for 5 mins or else it gets too bitter. The result is phenomenal. I suggest you try a small amount. If you like it, get more. Enjoy it.

Black tea has too much caffeine in it for me, but once in awhile I would get a Black Earl Grey tea and enjoy it. The bergamot oil in this tea is perfect. Comments about Teavana Earl Grey White Tea:

I like Earl Grey tea, but cannot have caffeine in any quantity. So, generally, I drink a decaffeinated tea. White teas are naturally low in caffeine and Teavana no longer sells a decaffeinated Earl Grey black tea. So, I was recently in one of their shops and decided to try the Earl Grey White.
I was quite disappointed. The bergamot was very strong for such a mild tea, to the point that it was overwhelming. I tried letting it steep a bit longer, but found that only made the tea taste bitter. Then I hit upon the idea of mixing it with a decaffeinated black tea I have. First I mixed 2 parts white to 1 part black. That was an improvement, but still not there. Then I tried a 1 to 1 mixture and that made it drinkable. I got the benefit of the bergamot from the white tea and the tea flavor I desired from the black tea.
Of course, if you have to mix the tea with something else to make it palatable, then it probably isn't worth buying in the first place.

Comments about Teavana Earl Grey White Tea:

I am a fan of Earl Greys from way back. In this tea, the bergamont is robust, refreshing and in combination with the white tea it sparkles (no not as in carbonation). Like previous posts this tea is quite sensitive to temperature and steep time. I have enjoyed this warm and iced and can get more than one infusion. I do find a little of this tea goes a long way. I also have enjoyed mixing a pinch or 2 per cup with the "To Life" tea and Peach Tranquility.

Comments about Teavana Earl Grey White Tea:

When i heard that there was going to be an earl grey white tea at teavana i was very excited. but when i tried it, i wasnt excited anymore. Basically it taste like bergamont oil mixed with water. The only people i would reccomend it to is people that LOVE earl grey.

Comments about Teavana Earl Grey White Tea:

I'm so glad to see this flavor come along. I actually wrote Teavana about six months ago and suggested they create a Earl Grey White Tea because i'd had one made by another company. Black teas don't treat me very well physically so i typically have to steer clear of Earl Greys but i can now enjoy the great flavor of bergamot in a white tea at Teavana. This tea is not only delicious but also very good for you. Thanks Teavana!
