I included this in my first purchase from Teavana and I must say that I also felt the smell was too strong. I steeped the tea but just couldn't enjoy the cup, I kept thinking the milk was sour.
Comments about Teavana Au Lait Verde Green Tea:
I got this tea and it really did smell bad. I brewed it, though, and fell in love. To me, it reminds me of fresh crab meat dipped in butter. Sounds so odd, I'm sure! One of my favorites, though!
Comments about Teavana Au Lait Verde Green Tea:
I'll have to agree with another reviewer and say this tea smells like stinky feet, and although that doesn't carry over into the flavor of the tea (for the most part) after it has been brewed, i am still very disappointed with this tea. I bought 4oz. from the website because i thought it would have been more like a "milk tea" that you can buy in Chinatowns across the country. To my taste buds, the tea tastes rather bitter and the hint of sour milk definitely doesn't help it out. I too have a tea thermometer and brewed it exactly as the directions said. Not a fan....at all. A friend in PA also bought some and concurred these thoughts.

Comments about Teavana Au Lait Verde Green Tea:
This tea was great! It has a smell to it that reminded me of buttered popcorn. It's milky with a light green tea flavor. Don't over steep or it will taste bitter.

Comments about Teavana Au Lait Verde Green Tea:
I bought this because it was on sale and I've been wanting to try it. I brewed it exactly to the instructions (I have a tea thermometer to measure correct water temps, and it was okay. I prefer a fuller flavored - fuller bodied tea...so this is not my favorite. For those of you who like a more delicate cup - this might be for you. It's a great tea to have in my collection, though and I do not regret spending the money on it. It's not gross...just a bit weak for my preferences.

Comments about Teavana Au Lait Verde Green Tea:
I just love this tea and it is so sad that it was discontinued. Cause this is the only green tea that I really love. I love this milky taste in it and the smell is so pleasant and aromatic. Just love it.

Comments about Teavana Au Lait Verde Green Tea:
It smells awful and weird, like old cheetos crushed by stinky feet, but once brewed it loses that horrible smell. I used to think milk+green tea=gross but after a minute and half of brewing all that's left is a hint of milky-ness that mellows the green tea and is really, really subtle. I'm so sad that it is being discontinued, as I have tried around 30 of teavana's teas and this is my favorite. I love it in the morning as an alternative to a latte or black tea with milk, and bought 2lbs to hoard for the future.

Comments about Teavana Au Lait Verde Green Tea:
I will not buy this tea again. Name is decieving compared to taste. It took me a while to drink one cup. Kept hoping the taste would improve (didn't).

Comments about Teavana Au Lait Verde Green Tea:
This tea smells like buttered popcorn to me. not something I really want to smell when picking a tea. However, I gave it a try anyway and although it does not taste like buttered popcorn, it isn't much better. I was hoping for a smooth, creamy green tea and instead got a bitter odd taste. Not my favorite.
Comments about Teavana Au Lait Verde Green Tea:
This sounded interesting - I imagined a milky green tea, or something creamy, like a green tea latte. But something is just all wrong about it. The smell of rancid/sour milk hit me when I first opened the bag. I brewed a cup anyway, thinking maybe it was just my imagination, but no. It tasted like it smelled -- green tea with rancid milk. I am not saying the milk flavoring that was added to this tea is rancid or spoiled, but that's how it smells and tastes...it's just not appetizing. If you want a soothing cup of green tea, try Green Tea Heaven or Nine Treasures; this isn't it.
Comments about Teavana Au Lait Verde Green Tea:
I absolutely love this tea, It's like a light latte. Have to be careful not to "overbrew" or it would taste bitter, like it always happens with green tea. I do like the smell and don't agree with the other reviewers saying that it is "repulsive" but I understand that not everybody would like it as much as I do.

Comments about Teavana Au Lait Verde Green Tea:
I'll start out by saying that the salespeople at my local Teavana store told me that this tea was "weird" and that I should try something else. However, the smell reminded me of the warm cups of milk my Grandma used to make me before bedtime, so I gave it a try. I love it! That's exactly what it tastes like. I put a little cinnamon in with the tea while its brewing, and add a little sweetener to bring the flavors out. (Its a little bland without). Basically it comes down to this- if you like warm milk, lattes, etc, you'll like this.

I have ordered many teas from teavana and have liked them all to some degree. I can't even smell this one. I tried a few cups to get used to it - it is certainly unique - but it tastes almost rotten to me.

I agree with a review below. I open this tea and smell sour milk. I love tea - especially from here - but can't recommend this tea!

Comments about Teavana Au Lait Verde Green Tea:
i really like this tea in the morning instead of my usual cup of coffee. there is a lot less caffeine in it, but it has a bit of a creamy, milky taste that satisfies my latte craving in the mornings. also good for anytime of day.

Comments about Teavana Au Lait Verde Green Tea:
I ordered this tea because the previous two reviews had noted how smooth, sweet, and creamy it tasted. That's exactly the taste I love in tea, so I was really looking forward to drinking my first cup.
When I first opened this tea, however, I was struck by the smell. It smelled like sour milk or some kind of earthy scent. I've smelled many teas, and have liked some better than others, but the smell of this tea truly repulsed me--I hate to use that word, but it's really the only one that describes my reaction! I went ahead an made the tea. From the reviews, I was expecting sweet and creamy, but drinking it was a lot like drinking a vegetable broth. NOT what I had in mind!
I was so surprised by the difference between the tea's description and my experience that I called Teavana--I was sure I had simply gotten a bad batch or something. They graciously sent a replacement--but it was the same taste and smell!
I've ordered many teas from Teavana (about 25 or so) and I've loved some and haven't loved others, which is to be expected given different tastes. However, they all had a smell and taste that the ingredients would lead you to expect. But this is the only one that I absolutely hated, and tasted nothing like I thought it would.
For a truly sweet green tea, try Green Tea Heaven, Apricot Caramel Torte, or the Earl Grey Creme. If you like chocolate, try the ChocoNut Green Tea. All of these are delicious!

The Au Lait Verde has a very smooth and creamy flavor profile. Its not to overwhelming, with just a subtle taste of milk. Taste great with just honey.
The tea leaves smell amazing, they remind me of white chocolate.

The appearance of this tea is beautiful with Lily blossoms and forget-me-not petals. The taste is exceptional smooth and creamy. It is a pleasant surprise with this gentle sweet and milky flavor profile. It becomes one of my favorite teas for a soothing afternoon tea or whenever I feel like having a cup of green tea.
