This was my first teapot purchase, and I am in love! It is SO much prettier than the ceramic teapots, as you can really see the color of the tea as it develops (also helpful to see how strong it is getting). The glass pot is just so beautiful and elegant! The strainer works fine -- sure, there are a few little particles in the bottom of the teapot, but I think that happens with any strainer -- they stay at the bottom and don't come out when you pour anyway. Cleaning is a breeze. I basically just rinse out the pot and lid and use a toothbrush to clean the slots of the strainer. Handle it carefully like you wold any nice wine glass or crystal and I'm sure it will last a long time. It makes about 3 average-size mugs of tea. I use this pot every time (about once a week because I usually have coffee) because it's just so beautiful -- I have not even used my fancy ceramic pots yet. LOVE IT!

Comments about Teavana Amelie Glass Teapot:
We wanted a product that we could use everyday but the glass strainer broke after a couple of days use. Teavana rep told us that it was a durable, high quality glass but a very slight bump caused the strainer to break while cleaning. To teavana's credit they did exchange the strainer for a new one but gave us a lecture about how incredibbly delicate their glassware is - opposite of the line we were given to buy the product. Also, the strainer is tough to clean and clogs with teas that have small particles - many of which also end up in the tea. We will get a better pot with stainless steel mesh strainer soon and save this glass one for things like blooming teas that are nice to watch.

Comments about Teavana Amelie Glass Teapot:
I am a constant tea drinker. I drink about 4 pots a day. This pot works really well, but the strainer doesn't do a great job. With smaller teas they either pass through or get stuck in the slots and they are really hard to clean out. It also gets stained pretty easy but I don't know it this is a problem for all glass pots or not. I also use a tea warmer on the bottom and this works awesome. Keeps the tea hot for a very long time. I love it... just with it was more practical.

Comments about Teavana Amelie Glass Teapot:
This teapot is absolutely beautiful in its simplicity. The glass is perfectly clear, with no defects, which allows the color of the tea to shine through. Because of this, it allows you to enjoy another aspect of the tea, instead of just the smell and taste. This is particularly nice when put over a tea warmer because the light of the candle underneath causes the color of the tea to glow and flicker. I also enjoy that it has a strainer that can be removed when your tea is done steeping. I was initially attracted to the tea pots that allow the tea leaves to dance more freely within the water, but if the tea is not completely poured out when the steeping time is up, it becomes bitter. This teapot stops that from happening.
The only problem I have with this product is how fragile it is. The glass seems a little too thin, so if it clinks against something a bit too hard, it will crack. This is especially true of the strainer. The cuts in the bottom edge of the steeper (4 sets spaced evenly) seem especially frail. When I broke mine I was very disappointed because I love this teapot so much. I managed to replace the broken part, and I am much more careful now.
It is also very easy to clean. The hole at the top is large enough for me to be able to fit my hand in to wash it, and while the strainer gets clogged, that is easily remedied with a soft bristle tooth brush.
I would definitely recommend buying this product though. I use it almost every day, and it allows me to appreciate my tea so much more. It is also inexpensive enough that I can use it every day, and if something terrible happens where it breaks, I won't feel as if I wasted a ton of money on it.
