This petite glass teapot we call "Sur la Mer" which means "By the Sea" features translucent ocean blue accents on the handle and lid. It is composed of Borosilicate glass, which tends to be stronger and more heat resistant than conventional glassware, yet appears delicate (although durable) with an air of sophistication. The glass pot allows light to travel the glass providing a translucent feel while illuminating the tea liqueur. The addition of a removable spring strainer in the spout allows the tea leaves to unfold, ebb and flow freely within the pot. 12oz. Exclusively for Teavana.com.

I love this teapot. It's beautiful and perfect for tea-for-one. I use this one when I'm having tea by myself and I have the Mirabel teapot for when I have guests. I liked the teapot so much that I got one for a friend too. Keep in mind that this is a small pot (I think about 12 oz), so if you typically have tea with other people or don't want to add more hot water to the teapot, this isn't the one for you. Also, I agree with another poster who said that it's a little too confining for the blooming teas--I prefer to use the Mirabel for those.

Yea, it is small, but it's only to steep, so no big deal. I am a little worried about how hot it can handle, because I like my tea hot, but so far so good. And it is cool if you have the blooming tea

I was disappointed about the size of this teapot. It is only big enough for about one cup of tea and I don't believe it would allow the blooming teas to unfold and show all of their beauty.
