As a fan of all things chocolate & mint, I figured I would give it a whirl. I wasn't expecting too much from a supposed "cacao" tea. Boy-OH Boy was I surprised. The "cacao" is subdued and only moves to the front as the tea cools a bit. The crisp mint shines through and leads the dance most of the time however. I'll be adding this to the normal rotation, in bulk. A++ Well Done Teavana!

I really enjoy this tea in the evening, about an hour or so after dinner. I find it relaxes me, yet, the small caffeen kick bridges the gap to bed time. I find the mint does tend to steal the show. However, the other players (cacao & hazlenut) take the bitter tendancies out of the black tea and mint, to make for a very well rounded blend. This will be added into my normal rotation in bulk. I may even have to take some on vacation with me.

There is nothing really wrong with this tea. The mint flavor is very nice, but there seems to be little else to it, and I've found that it's very forgettable. I bought two ounces months ago and still have it because I drink it so rarely. I usually find it is nice in the evening after dinner, but there are other teas with more character and I've been very conflicted about whether or not to buy more of this one.

I was hesitant at first to try this tea but I'm so glad I did! I have to agree with one of the other reviewers...it really is reminiscent of Thin Mint cookies and Andes chocolate. If you could take those and make them into a tea-- this is what you would have! I drink this morning and night. Kills my sweet tooth in an instant and I love the refreshing minty flavor. Very aromatic... you can smell the cocoa mint as soon as I open my tea tin and as soon as you begin to brew.

A very nice and refreshing tea. I smell the chocolate, but the taste is very light. The mint come through more, although it is not overpowering. I'm left with a "clean" mouthfeel, like after drinking a straight peppermint tea, but without the strong taste.

Slightly sweet - not nearly as sweet as other 'dessert' teas like the Rooibos Tiramisu or Praline Tart.

I bought this on a whim encouraged by my mother and was thinking I might end up re-gifting it if I didn't love it. I love the way it smells because it does smell like Thin Mints or Andes Chocolates and just having that smell in my room is very relaxing. When I made the tea though, it seemed as if the chocolate flavor was very over powered by the mint and I didn't get any other flavors really, just a lot of mint. I always look forward to the Peppermint Mochas that come out at holiday time - but this is a much healthier and yummier option! This product is exelent as iced tea, A personl reccomendation if to blend this tea with Nine Dragon Golden Needle, helps bring out the Full flavour of the black tea, otherwise the mint is overpowering. Also being mixed with Earl grey Creme brings out the essence of the chocolate. Reccommended to blend all three over ice. I would reccommend it for someone who likes mint, and chocolate teas. It does try to accomplish alot. Hazlenut flavour is somewhat lost, but lingers on the back of the throat, rich ending notes.

It is a Required taste, you will eather love it, or you wont.

This tea definitely lives up to it's description; it's minty, chocolatey and creamy, similar to an Andes Mint only more subtle. The first time I brewed it I added some sugar and cream, but have found that it is not necessary. I now drink it without cream and sugar and still find it smooth and creamy. Very much a dessert tea. I think I like this better than the Almond Biscotti for the "I want something decadent" tea, but not very much black tea taste if that is what you are after. I will buy this again!

i just got my anticipated second teavana.com order, and i tacked this tea on because i was craving mint tea and i love any mint chocolate combination. i made it first over the others in my package, the fresh opened package smell didnt bother me at all i mention this because the other reviewer commented on this in another review. it just smelled yummy. i made an actual pot of it vs my normal large cup, and served it hot with rock sugar and cream which is my preferred way to drink hot tea. my first cup i more tasted the chocolate hazelnut part and was good - so very good, my second cup the mint was more evident and i could taste the andes mint comparisons. i LOVE andes mints. i really think this will be added to my "must have in house always" category. its really very good- not that teavana HASNT had good teas on the others.

I was very excited to try this blend, and was not disappointed by the flavor of the tea. However, the smell was something I had to work very hard to get past. When I first opened the package, my first thought was of mint Bailey's. Then when I went to brew it, I was hit over the head by the smell of Hazelnuts. I'm not sure if I'm just sensitive to the smell or not, as I seem to be the only one commenting on it, but it was there. When I brewed it, it became more tolerable, and the flavor is very mellow and the mint leaves a nice after taste. I really enjoyed the flavor, but am not sure I can get past the smell long enough to brew another cup.

It smells overpowering in the container but the smell of the tea after it is brewed is calmer and soothing. I try to avoid caffeine as a general rule, but there are some days I can barely drag myself out of bed. These are the days I reach for my Cacao Mint Black. I'll brew up a cup with a little stevia and a splash of skim milk- it perks me up without making me speedy or edgy, like coffee does. It's just enough caffeine. The mint notes make it quite refreshing without overpowering the chocolate. I find this tea very well balanced, and occasionally drink it as a pick-me-up in the afternoon when I have a loooong evening ahead of me.

When you open the packet, the tea smells rich and oaky, almost like whisky (no alcohol here of course!). Make this tea strong by using 1.5 times the normal amount of leaves, but do not let it steep too long - steep as you would regular black tea. Really good with half & half for richness...or a little coconut oil for a tea dessert! Lovely dark chocolate aftertaste with a minty finish. Recommended for anyone with an open mind who enjoys chocolate mint.
If your idea of good chocolate candy includes M&M's, this tea is probably a bit sophisticated for your tastes.

I asked the employee at the Teavanna near me and he seemed to have mixed reviews saying.. its "okay...good with cream". I bought it anyway after reading the reviews on this and must say... it was WELL WORTH IT. It hit me right away with the same taste as smell, its a strong body mint and chocolate flavors are present, though i did try it the first time with non-fat milk. It actually took away from the flavor more than i'd like so I'll try it again without.

I was very dubious about purchasing this tea, mostly because I've been disappointed by chocolate-flavored teas in the past.

I just tried it this morning with milk and a little sweetener, and it is AMAZING. It has a rich (but not overpowering) chocolate and mint flavor, and isn't bitter at all.

I will say that if you don't like robust teas and prefer something lighter and calming, this is probably not for you. I would recommend it for an after-dinner drink, or when you want a sweet snack.

When my friend, who worked at my local Teavana store, tried to sell this tea to me, I was pretty unsure. I normally do not like mint or mint-chocolate anything. But the aroma of the tea really attracted me, so I decided to buy it. 3 major pros: 1. the taste is so SURPRISING! From personal experience, most of the Teavana teas I've tasted do not fit the name, but this tea does! It has a great minty aftertaste that you can feel on your tongue! 2. If you are a fan of Mint & Chocolate together, you will surely enjoy this blend. The minty taste and aroma comes instantly, you definitely taste the chocolately undertone, and slightly notice the hazelnut as a complement to it. I personally was sold on the scent of this tea alone.

The best way to describe it is a very light rendition of a Girl Scout's Thin Mint cookie- The chocolate flavor is very light and the mint is not overpowering. Like many of the flavored black teas, the tea itself is a bit weak and extra tea is necessary to get the full flavor. I typically double the amount at two teaspoons per cup.

The mint is the overwhelming note in this tea. The chocolate and hazelnut seem to impart only a little of their aroma or flavor.

That is to say, this is not a bad tea and is pleasant but does not quite live up to the high expectation I had when purchasing it.

My first visit to Teavana has been a major success. First the people who helped me were amazing and very helpful!

I am first and foremost a fan of mint/chocolate and the aroma of this tea is just incredible. I also purchased the tea steeper and just couldn't wait to get home. It only took me twice to find my perfect prep for this. I use the German Sugar which I add in the steeping process and for 16 oz I use a 1/4 c of whole milk. It is so comforting and soothing. The chocolate and mint are evenly balanced and one doesn't really overpower the other. With the milk and sugar, it sweetens the tea just right and makes it even more dessert like.

I am going back tomorrow to buy another 4 oz!

I loved this tea the first time I tried it! The mint flavor gives this tea a real kick in the pants. I found this tea intriguing simply by its name. I've always been fond of the chocolate and mint combination, so I gave this tea a try one day, and I absolutely love it. I drink it every morning now. A friend of mine introduced me to a combination of Peppermint Tea and Azteca Fire, which I thoroughly enjoy in the evening as it is minimally caffeinated. But I like a little pick-me-up in the morning. So I just swapped the Peppermint Tea with Cocoa Mint Black, and I can't get enough of it!

I do have to be very precise in my steeping times, however. Too long, and it's fairly bitter. I've begun adding about a half teaspoon of brown sugar to 10 oz of tea so I don't have to be quite so careful. I'm often busy in the mornings, and I tend not to hear the timer beep when my tea is done. But the sugar also gives is a nice smooth flavor that the combination doesn't have on its own. I find that I actually enjoy it more with the sugar, and I'm saddened why my tea is gone!

I love this tea!!! I inquired about a chocolate tea after reading about a chocolate tea in a mag. I did not have any particular brand in mind so was pretty much green when I went into Teavana. After, I asked about a chocolate tea the clerk allowed me to smell the leaves which were absolutely wonderful!! I know it is probably because I'm a tea purest,but I thought this tasted just like mouthwash.Could not finnish the cup.

I am not a fan of black tea...they always seem to strong for me, but this tea was GREAT! I mixed it with a touch of the cane suger & YUM!!! This tea tastes like an Andes mint! If you like mint chocolate, this is the tea for you. This would be great mixed with a bit of cream or milk.

I really like this tea any time but in the morning is really good when it is cold outside. The chocolate and the mint blend really well. When brewed correctly it is not bitter. I like it with just a little sugar. The mint taste you get after it leaves your mouth is just wonderful

When I first Tried this tea in the store, I didn't love it. after 2 weeks I went back and bought a few ounces to retry it at home. LOVED IT, I drink it all day!

I was hesitant when I first tasted it because it was a little too minty but it grew on me when after each taste. Doesn't need sugar great by itself. Its great as an after dinner tea but also would be great for the morning.

This is a delightful tea! I've tried other chocolate teas and this tea is by far the best! Its a wonderful afternoon and after dinner treat--staving off rich, high calorie, dessert cravings!

This is a delicious tea that fits a wide profile of taste buds. I highly recommend adding cream as it enhances the cocoa flavor which otherwise can be weak (I usually forgo adding sugar and cream). Drink as a treat, since the character is too much like an after dinner mint for general use.

I've been drinking this tea in the morning as a jump-start for my day. I like the minty taste in the morning a lot. The chocolate wasn't super strong tasting, but it's there. I like the addition of the nuttiness, it deepens the flavor.

I was glad I tried this tea even though the ladies at the Teavana counter seemed reluctant to recommend it for some reason. It was delicious! I drank it w/o any sweetners and it tasted just like chocolate mints. It satisified my sweet tooth and the mint flavor helped soothe my stomach after my meal. I am sure it would be extra delicious with a splash of milk and some sugar. WOW!

I caught a whiff of this after checking out. I then proceeded to get back in line to purchase two ounces.

This mint in this is strong enough to not be overpowered by the cacao. Chocolate and mint have always been a favorite combination for me, but I never would have thought to combine the two in a tea.

I made some of this yesterday iced with a tiny pinch of peppermint. It tasted like dessert, though I wish I hadn't made such a large cup. Probably about 5oz or so would have done.
