Tatara pots are designed by Hisanori Masuda, using the ancient art of Tatara ironworking, perfected in the mid-Edo Period in Japan (mid-18th century). Mr. Masuda's work has been exhibited in some of the world's finest museums, including the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. A recipient of many design awards, he teaches at Tohoku University of Art & Design in Japan. Enameled on the inside for years of use, preventing rust and oxidization, and equipped with a stainless steel mesh infuser for use with loose-leaf tea, the ideal way to brew.

Comments about Teavana Orbits Tatara Cast Iron Teapot:

No wonder that he won so many awards! I already have two of his small pots for personal use and they are gems. I needed a large pot but I told myself not to spend the money. As usual they have many beautiful pots in the store but this one is definitely the best. So I could not resist. Well balanced you can get the last drop out without losing the lid. Using the warmer the tea stayed warm for 6 hours! As his others the spout leaves no drips.
