Comments about Teavana Himalayan Majestic Black Tea
:
This tea is excellent, yet expensive. Three times the price of the Earl Grey, and I can see why. It has a good, full flavour, yet somehow it is soothing and not overpowering. It smells like a typical cup of Darjeeling, but once you taste it, it is more fine than that. The leaves themselves are large and of different colours and I rarely get "floaties" in my liquid. It is difficult to over-steep, but if the water is not properly monitored, it will easily burn. The price is a big high, but I just couldn't bring myself to taking away a teavana logo in the rating because of it.
One more thing, they describe it as a coppery-orange. It steeps a coppery-brown. My water is as clean as it gets with reverse-osmosis, and the colour has very little orange in it.

Comments about Teavana Himalayan Majestic Black Tea
:
Recently, while visiting a friend in Florida, I ran out of tea (I usually take some of my preferred Oolong or Darjeeling with me when traveling). I am an true tea enthusiast, I do not drink coffee at all, and I began with my püassion for tea when I was just 16 years old (I´m 44 now) so having no tea borders on catastrophe for me. Luckily , I found a Teavana store in Fort Lauderdale, and got myself a package of Himalyan Majestic. To brew, I take 11 grams (that is 0.388 oz) to a quart of water and let sit for exactly 2 and a half minutes. This brings out the flavor to the max. However, this tea has slightly bitter notes. But help is near: just add a drop or two of milk (make sure it is really only a drop or two!) Milk will bind the bitter taste, and you can enjoy the smooth, mellow vegetal flavor of this excellent tea. Thanks Teavana for making my visit to the US much more enjoyable! I will surely return next time.[...]

This tea is absolutely delicious. Rich in flavor, but not too strong. I always add sugar though, too bitter for me without it. It is definitely worth its price. I would recommend to anyone who likes black tea. Remember gunpowder tea? It has a hint of that flavor, and a wonderful aftertaste.
The aroma is enticing and calming!

This is one of the best straight black teas to put over ice that I've tried from teavana.

I found this tea to be smooth and enjoyable with just a hint of after taste. I usually buy Golden Monkey and Copper Knot, and I beleive I will include this in my future purchases.
Comments about Teavana Himalayan Majestic Black Tea
:
I'm a bit picky about teas, having grown up in the South of the US where we have sweet iced tea and that's about it - it's a generic sort of black tea, and I've never been able to learn to like the really strong teas like Earl Grey or the citrus blends. I also really dislike bitter things, and tea that has steeped even the slightest bit too long is absolutely unpalatable to me.
That said, I truly love the Himalayan Majestic blend. I drink it all the time, though only hot (I can't switch from the traditional sweet tea for iced). It does get very bitter very quickly, but I use about 1 tsp of tea leaves with about 1.75 cups of water that has been in the microwave for 3 minutes and I let it steep for about 2 minutes (never more than 3, but I don't use a timer). To make it drinkable, I add a splash of milk to cool it quickly and a couple sugar cubes (it's my sweet tooth...), and it's perfect. I'm sure that the way I prepare my tea shows something negative about my upbringing, but it makes me happy and it's delicious. :)
One of the things I really like about the tea is the richness in the aftertaste. It leaves a nice sort of feeling in my mouth when I'm finished drinking that reminds me a little bit of a red wine like merlot (which I also enjoy). I like to drink it by itself while studying or relaxing, but I also like it with pastries or mild fruit for breakfast - because of the nuances of the flavour, I find that it does best with foods that don't have strong flavours themselves.

I like a very strong black tea, so this isn't my preference for my hot tea, but this makes the best iced tea I've ever tasted.

Comments about Teavana Himalayan Majestic Black Tea
:
My girlfriend and I tried Himalayan Majestic about a year and a half ago, and it quickly became our favorite tea, hot or iced. This Nepalese tea strikes me a subtler, smoother variation on Darjeeling (esp. Puttabong or Margaret's Hope). If you like black tea, you should really give Himalayan a shot.
But when you do, be careful to brew it more gently than other black teas, even Darjeeling. Himalayan Majestic will be bitter if you steep more than 60 or 90 seconds, and it will lose its subtle flavoring if you use water that is more than 190 degrees Fahrenheit. Even if you don't normally use one, a tea thermometer is a must for this tea. I suspect the divided reviews collected here result from some people brewing this tea like any other black tea. That won't work, and you'll miss out on a great tea. Made well, this tea stands up to the priciest Darjeelings out there.
Himalayan is even better iced, but I recommend using at least 2 teaspoons or even 2.5 teaspoons per cup to get the full flavor.

Comments about Teavana Himalayan Majestic Black Tea
:
I bought this because my favorite black tea was discontinued :-( Darjeeling Makaibari. So on recommendation of the salesperson I tried this one instead. I must say it is not quite as good as my former favorite, but it is close! The first time I steeped it I went three full minutes (based on the seeming too light color). 2 minutes is probably plenty for my taste (i.e., not bitter). So, I am a happy customer ... but I would be even happier if they brought back a bit more economical darjeeling!

This tea is becoming my favorite iced tea for summer when I mix it with some peppermint tea. Honestly I haven't tried it on it's own yet but I had to write a review because I absolutely had to share that it's delicious when mixed with peppermint tea.

Comments about Teavana Himalayan Majestic Black Tea
:
I've always liked black teas when using store bought tea bags. So when I started drinking Teavana teas I went right for the '3 leaf' strength teas like Black Dragon Pearl and English Breakfast. What I found is that though they were excellent tasting, they were a bit strong for me. I was unable to drink a glass of only those teas and had to mix them with others. But I wanted to be able to get away from all the fruity flavors sometimes and just drink black tea. So I decided to try this one, and I was hooked from the very beginning! Being a '2 leaf' strength tea, it falls right into line with how I've always thought Black Tea's should taste. Excellent by itself or with a bit of honey flavor from adding a tad of Eastern Chamomile.

Comments about Teavana Himalayan Majestic Black Tea
:
I steep it 3.5 minutes and add raw sugar. Probably doesn't appeal to ardent black tea fans, but if the aftertaste and bitterness of some black teas turn you off, then this is a good one to try. Between a basic white tea and a basic black tea in terms of strength.

Comments about Teavana Himalayan Majestic Black Tea
:
I bought this tea because I heard it was really good. However though after I tried it I noticed it had sort of a bitter taste, even if you brewed it for a short time. I was quite dissapointed because I expected more. I just really wasn't impressed. I have tasted much better tea then Himalayan Majestic.
Comments about Teavana Himalayan Majestic Black Tea
:
A tea so complex and multidimensional we thought it must be a blend.
A little goes a long way in a short amount of time.
Perfect with dim sum.
We drank the leftovers chilled just to see how it would taste and it was actually just as flavorful plus smoother.
Breath taking tea . . . just like the land it came from!

Comments about Teavana Himalayan Majestic Black Tea
:
If you are looking for a bold black tea, this is not your product. The majestic tea has a very weak flavor and coloring, and does not strengthen with over steeping. I was disappointed as i thought this black tea would provide a strong flavor.
Comments about Teavana Himalayan Majestic Black Tea
:
My favorite tea has been Golden Monkey, however it's a bit rich, so this has now become my new favorite tea.

Comments about Teavana Himalayan Majestic Black Tea
:
I have always been very particular about how my tea tasted, hot or cold. I don’t like fruity, too nutty or any type of bitterness. I want my tea to taste like tea, not a toasted almond cinnamon apple or violet orange rainbow flower with added nutmegy caramel spice. Well here I have found it, and I absolutely love it. I drink it every morning instead of coffee, and it is just wonderful as an iced tea. If you’re looking for a smooth, great tasting, tea tea, here it is.

Comments about Teavana Himalayan Majestic Black Tea
:
This tea is the kind that I can drink every week and discover some new aspect of its flavor each time. It's a relatively light black tea, is slightly sweet, has a bit of a fruity undertone, and can even be equated in some ways to Earl Grey, despite the absence of bergamot. I like to drink this tea in the evening (when I would usually drink a green tea) because it has such a subtly pleasing flavor. The one oddity is the steep time--don't go more than 30 seconds or all of the above will be lost in bitterness!
