Comments about Teavana Assam Gold Rain Black Tea:
I absolutely love this tea. The Assam region of India certainly has proven itself to the best of the best for tea. This tea is strong and smooth. The amount of caffeine in it is perfect for a good afternoon pick-me-up. Best of all this high quality great tasting tea is a really good price. I hear rumors Teavana is planing to discontinue it. Please Teavane, do not stop supplying this tea it really is great. The only that could make it better truthfully was if it was a first flush.
Comments about Teavana Assam Gold Rain Black Tea:
I love black tea, so naturally, I found this blend to be pretty sweet stuff. Maybe it was just my inexperience with loose leaf, but I could never seem to get this tea to be strong enough for my liking; the instructions for measurements and temperature and steep time didn't seem to be enough, even when I approached them loosely. The flavor of it was still great, though, if a little weak. As an aside, the guy at the Teavana shop I visited was absolutely charming and exuberant.

Comments about Teavana Assam Gold Rain Black Tea:
I am almost exclusively a black tea drinker and prefer the stronger teas. I thought Irish Breakfast and English Breakfast were my go to anytime black teas until I tried this one. This has become my all time favorite black tea. I drink it without cream/milk with rock sugar. It's very smooth and has an excellent flavor. I added some ice to what I had left over in a cup one afternoon and was very pleasantly surprised on how good it was iced. This has become my tea for ice tea!
Comments about Teavana Assam Gold Rain Black Tea:
Probably my favorite general black tea that I have found so far, no sugar or creamer added. It is definitely on the stronger side, but the tea is still very smooth.
Comments about Teavana Assam Gold Rain Black Tea:
This was one of the best Black Teas that I have had. I had stopped drinking alot of Tea because it seemed flat and no taste. But, this tea brought me around to tea drinking again. I will be buying more and trying the different Teavana teas.

Comments about Teavana Assam Gold Rain Black Tea:
I love this tea; it's my favorite for daily drinking and while I could get it I had a pot almost every day. An excellent, straight-up black tea, mild, smooth, slightly sweet with an excellent body. I use half the recommended leaves (one heaping teaspoon instead of two to a 16 oz pot) and always drink it straight. Delicious.

Comments about Teavana Assam Gold Rain Black Tea:
I tried this tea at the suggestion of the sales associate at the store and I was very pleasantly surprised! I was looking to buy English Breakfast tea but this tea is so much better than that. It has a fuller flavor than the English Breakfast tea. I put sugar and milk in it because it is a strong tea, but I found that adding that tames the flavor. I think this would be a tea that a coffee drinker would enjoy. I would definitely drink this as an early morning pick me up type of tea. It is a strong tea so be careful when brewing, don't over brew or else it will get bitter. I highly recommend this tea if you like English Breakfast tea or are looking for a strong, full bodied tea.

Comments about Teavana Assam Gold Rain Black Tea:
I almost exclusively drink strong black tea (with cream and sugar if hot tea). I bought 3/4 of a pound of this Assam on my first trip to Teavana based on name and smell alone so I sure hoped I'd like it! My first cup was 3 tsp tea steeped for 3 mins which resulted in a bitter brew with a perfume like finish. A few more tries and I found the perfect balance of tea and time (2 heaping tsps and 2 min 45 second). If you like herbal and 'light' tea you might not find a match with this one but if you like a deep, strong cuppa tea you won't be disappointed!

Comments about Teavana Assam Gold Rain Black Tea:
Tried this at the store today with a little sugar, and it was the strongest tea I ever had. It completely overtook the sugar, and was malty, but also bitter like black coffee. It was too powerful for my taste, so I had a little cream and sugar added, and it calmed down a little. It was still English breakfast tea to the 10th power. But it tastes pretty good with a little somthing to settle it down with, and has a prominent red wine aroma and smooth body with many malty undertones. If you like delicate teas, than watch out for this one!

I was very excited to get this in the mail and couldn't wait to try it! I was really disappointed, I found this tea to have a bitter after taste, and I really don't care for it. I would not buy this tea again.

Comments about Teavana Assam Gold Rain Black Tea:
I had my first cup of this tea on a Friday about 5:00 PM. YUM! I use a little half & half and a little sugar. What a treat. Such rich flavor. Better than chocolate...and I do love good chocolate. Thank you!

Best alternative to English Breakfast I have found. It has become my favorite tea.

Comments about Teavana Assam Gold Rain Black Tea:
Tends to lose its flavor and aroma if steeped to longy. Very fruity if steeped to little. I like the flavor if I steep for like 3-4 mins.

This is one of the most satisfying Assam teas I have ever drunk. Clean taste, smooth body, nice finish. Overall, an excellent brew.

Comments about Teavana Assam Gold Rain Black Tea:
This tea smells wonderful, in the tin. However, as it is brewing the truth of it starts to come out. This is by far the closest tea to coffee I have ever had. It has a very strong bitter bite that hangs on the tongue and no amount of sugar or honey can tame. If you are looking for an alternative to your coffee fix then this may be the tea for you. But if you prefer a more delicate tea then give it a pass.

i tried this tea after the golden monkey which was a bit mild for my tastes, i do love the black dragon pearls in the afternoon but this tea is amazing, full bodied but not heavy, a lively feel in the mouth from first sip to last. will be tasting it with some oranges & shortbread next.

Comments about Teavana Assam Gold Rain Black Tea:
I LOVE black teas and was thrilled with this. I blend this with Black Dragon Pearl. I use a little of this and 2 black dragon pearls in the 32oz. tea 'pot'. Steep for 3 minutes on the nose. The result is SO VERY GOOD. I really look forward to this as a very special treat. This is my reward for hard work. EXCELLENT. Oh, and sorry, I have to disagree with another reviewer. This is a CHEAP reward. Not expensive AT ALL. Not compared with other stuff we 'reward' or '
treat' ourselves with.

Great with milk or cream alone every morning to start the day. If you have a sweet tooth try adding honey or turbinado sugar too.

Comments about Teavana Assam Gold Rain Black Tea:
Today was my first trip to Teavana. After making my purchases I ordered a cup of Assam Gold for my trip home. I asked for no sweetener but when I got out to the car I could smell a bit of honey had been added. I was slightly annoyed, until I tasted it. That was the best ride. The tea had me relaxed and happy the whole way home. I plan on going back soon and getting a few oz for home. I am not usually a fan of sweet teas, but this mixed with a bit of honey is amazing.

Comments about Teavana Assam Gold Rain Black Tea:
This is one of the first teas I ever bought from Teavana. I've loved it ever since. I drink it alone with milk and sugar, or blend it with Matevana and Hazelnut Rooibos. I look forward to it every day. I learned quickly to follow recommended brewing times though. For all the teas, follow the brew times or they'll be bitter. It you want it stronger, add more tea, not more time.

Comments about Teavana Assam Gold Rain Black Tea:
used assam to make some iced sweet tea tonight. used the 32oz perfect tea maker, and the 56ounce pitcher that teavana sells along with it. just under a half cup of sugar. end result was delightful, 1st attempt and as good or better than any sweet tea i've come across in my trips through the south. worth a try

Comments about Teavana Assam Gold Rain Black Tea:
I'd have to say this is the best tea I've ever had. It's strong enough, but not overwhelming. It's the kind of tea that grows in you more and more every cup.
Only down side is that it's pretty expensive

A very nice tea, a bit too strong if you steep it too long... so pay attention.

Comments about Teavana Assam Gold Rain Black Tea:
I have drank tea since before I could walk. Being British I was raised on the stuff. After buying and consuming Teavana loose tea it has ruined me for drinking the teabag tea. I have never had a black tea that didn't have a bitter aftertaste before drinking this product.

Comments about Teavana Assam Gold Rain Black Tea:
I am a coffee addict still trying to kick the habit. I've tried the "teas for coffee drinkers" and found none of them that could be a replacement until I found this tea. It is nice and strong, with a great flavor and the red-wine finish is excellent. As someone who never liked tea, and never thought I would because I tried the bags from the grocery store, I have to say I was surprised at how easy it is to drink this tea instead of coffee.

This tea gives you a unique, strong flavor without being bitter. It is a great tea to serve to guests or treat yourself with. Unlike some of the other strong, bitter teas the perfect balance always livens my spirits.

Comments about Teavana Assam Gold Rain Black Tea:
Often, some pieces were too small for my tea ball (kind of infuser placed into the cup). If you don't like any pieces in your cup, a mesh strainer or tea bag may be necessary. This tea had a much richer and developed flavor than any tea I have had before. As this is my first loose leaf tea purchase, I was very impressed and am eager to try others.

I originally bought this tea for the caffeine content. Very flavorful tea that is not bitter enough to need milk and sugar.

Comments about Teavana Assam Gold Rain Black Tea:
The gastroenterologist told me if I would drink tea instead of coffee, heartburn would disappear. I found Assam Gold Rain at Tevana. Immediately I liked it better than coffee because of all the reasons listed. It is not only delicious, it is soothing and it's great to drink with a friend. No more Nexium!
