Comments about Teavana Dragonwell Green Tea:

I found this in a tea shop in Hong Kong; it smelled amazing and the sample tasting we had was delicious. I picked some up and brewed it for my morning pot. It can NOT be brewed for anything more than 45 seconds to a minute, or the green tastes becomes overpowering and unpleasant. Lightly steeped, it's a wonderful greenish taste that's very pleasing. Also, make sure the water isn't too hot, or it gets scalded and very bitter. Otherwise, a WONDERFUL tea and I can't wait to get home and pick up some more from Teavana!

Comments about Teavana Dragonwell Green Tea:

I love this Dragonwell tea. It has a complex flavor profile not found in many green teas. I find that when I drink another green tea it seems so dull in comparison (even the really expensive ones, like Gyokuro). The flavor is smooth, nutty, with just the right amount of vegetal character. It lacks the astringency seen in some other stronger-flavored green teas. Be sure not to over-brew. Second infusions are still good.

Comments about Teavana Dragonwell Green Tea:

I usually pick two teas to buy each time my Teavana stash runs out. I like at least one of them being a type I haven't tried before, as well as one of them being a green tea. I was tempted to go for some of the other green teas I had already tried in the past and loved, but I decided to be adventurous. I ultimately chose Dragonwell; its name reminded me of my favorite, Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls, and it was around the same price. So naturally, I assumed it would be similar. It also received a high score of about 4.5 out of 5 as its ratings average. I was convinced it would be a fantastic tea, and perhaps even on par with JDPP.

When the tea was still in its bag, I took a whiff to see what it smelled like. Surprisingly, it had no noticeable aroma whatsoever. I was even more disappointed when I brewed some; I could barely even taste anything aside from the hot water! It was very weak, and probably the weakest tea I had ever tasted. I decided to do some research online to see why everyone else thought it was so great, so I went to the reviews section to look at what people were saying.

I came across one very helpful review that mentioned that the brewing instructions on the bag's sticker contradicted the directions on the site; the sticker says to brew for 45-60 seconds, whereas the site suggests 2 minutes. I tried to brew it for 2 minutes the following time, and it tasted a little stronger, but not by much. The time after that, I boiled the water for a longer period of time, and it got a little stronger again. Finally (and perhaps most importantly), I realized that I may not have been using enough tea; DW's leaves are long, and they don't fit into my main measuring spoon in the same way smaller tea leaves would (the one I usually use is deep but not wide). Fortunately, I found a flat measuring spoon and was able to ensure the proper amount of leaves were being used.

So after brewing for 2 minutes, making the water hotter and using a different measuring spoon, I finally managed to make a much more flavorful cup of Dragonwell tea. It's still more mild than what I'm used to, but I enjoy how soothing it is. Additionally, the dry leaves also have an aroma now that they've been in my tea tin for a while (not that this matters, but it's something interesting that I noticed).

Don't be afraid to be "rough" with this tea! Unlike other green teas, this one can benefit from extra brewing time. Follow Teavana's online directions, not the ones on the bag!

This was the first thing i ever bought from Teavana. I drink this tea anytime I have a craving for a high quality green tea which is well pretty often. This tea tastes great and has an delicious nutty flavor. The only two things that i could think about that is a downside to this tea is the flavor can be a bit weak but that is easily fixed by using a little more tea and the tea lacks a noticeable aroma. Anyone who is a fan of tea should definitely try this tea. Bravo Teavana!

Dragonwell is undoubtedly the greatest green tea I've ever had. It's smooth, the strength can easily be controlled, and the brewed leaves can even be cooked with. The only bad thing is it can bitter quickly if you don't brew it for the recommended time, but that's to be expected. This isn't a tea to miss.

I just bought this tea the other day. I must say it is one of the best green teas I've had. I use the rock sugar from teavana in most of my teas now because it doesn't add the sugary taste like pure cane sugar bought in stores. I'd suggest buying it for this tea. It tastes so pure and wonderful. I will definitely be buying this tea again. Teavana, thank you!

This tea blew me away! When i read that it promotes mental alertness i jumped in it. I noticed a difference in my concentration and focus the very first day i drank it. To maximize this alertness, i steeped about five minutes instead of one, i really like my teas STRONG. Yeah it was a little bitter but it really grows on you and then you start to like it. I would strongly recommend this tea to anyone because concentration is vitally important in any endeavor.

This is the first time I have had this tea and found it a little weak. I followed the instructions on the package which said to brew it at 175 for 45-60 seconds, then I logged into Teavana's website and it says to brew it for 1.5-2 minutes so the next time I brew it I will try brewing it for this longer length of time. Don't understand why the package instructions and the website don't match.

This was my intro to Green Tea and it was a perfect choice. It was light yet flavorful. I wanted a Green Tea that was more traditional (nothing flavored) and this was a great choice. I drank it in the late afternoon and there doesn't seem to be much of a caffeine boost, which is good (for me). I highly recommend this tea.

Dragon Well tea is the perfect example of traditional, high quality Chinese green tea. Dragon Well is great for any time of day and with its light, sweet taste and soothing aroma, it is perfect for sipping slowly and relaxing. I enjoy sharing this tea with my friends and family who may be new to loose leaf tea brewing because its taste is subtle, unlike the the grassy undertones of something like a Kukicha. I recommend this tea for anyone! Especially those who are new to tea and are looking for a subtle green tea.

I have been drinking green tea for years but recently had the pleasure of visiting West Lake in China and went to the tea fields where this tea is produced. We did some tasting of the B grade and I bought a pound of the A grade Dragonwell tea. I have to say I wish I bought more as I drank a 1/4 pound before I made it back to the US. This is now my favorite green tea. Just be forwarded, it has a grassy flavor to it when first brewed but can be brewed 5-7 times at 180-190F for 1-2mins each time.

"Dragonwell" of Ancient China, may simply be The Finest Cup of Green Tea on the Earth, it's subtle and light taste of chestnuts and earthiness can even rival the Legendary Matcha of Japan. Subtle, yet sublime; Rich, yet light. Perfect in every aspect from it's price to it's taste.

Although depending on your own taste and preference, the amount you steep and the time in which let the tea leaves steep, can make all the difference in your own cup of Nirvana. And not to mention out of all the teas I sampled as a Tea Connoisseur for various companies over in Dover,England; it is My Personal Favourite.

I have to start by saying I'm no Tea expert. The only Green Tea I've had other than this Dragonwell is just bagged stuff from the grocery store, which I liked well enough.
Got this tea because it was more moderately priced and had good reviews.
I was very disappointed in this tea. It has, to me, an extreme Vegetal taste with an odd twang to it. I just don't like it. Maybe i'll try steeping it shorter or something.

Dragonwell is amazing! I bought three ounces of it my first trip to a Teavana store. It's perfect for introducing someone to green tea; the taste is subtle but it's very fragrant, it's hard to oversteep it enough to be bitter, and the tea is a pretty light green colour. I drank it the whole time I had a cold, and it made me feel better all day.

Comments about Teavana Dragonwell Green Tea:

This is a excellent green tea. It's only a tad on the vegetal side. Its not like drinking a sencha, or Kukicha. They have more of a grassy taste. It's subtle and smooth. Brew at 175 degrees for about 2 minutes.

I switch off between this and Silver needle white tea. Both are excellent in health and unqiue in taste.

Comments about Teavana Dragonwell Green Tea:

This tea has a sweet nutty flavor. I drink one to two 46-ounce pots of this per day usually, and the second infusion is just as good as the first. There's no need to add any sweeteners, either. Although the tea is very light in color, the flavor profile is hearty and delicious.

Comments about Teavana Dragonwell Green Tea:

This tea is a very powerful one. It has a very strong, rich aroma when brewed, and a pleasant sweet aroma when dry (try smelling it before brewing and afterward).

This tea energizes me and lifts my mood considerably. If I am depressed, I find it brings me out of that depression. I use this tea when I need a special experience. This tea does raise my heartrate though so those with heart problems may want to observe some caution when drinking it.

For those who prefer, this tea brews a clear green in color. I brew it at 175F for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes.

Comments about Teavana Dragonwell Green Tea:

This is a very pleasant cup of tea for any time of the day.
I drink several cups throughout the day.
The taste is very dense, yet the gentle flavor profile keeps it from being overwhelming.
This tea is best infused for a very short period of time (less than a minute) and enjoyed from a small cup at moderate temperatures.

Usually if I don't drink coffee, I have a terrible headache.
This tea is helping me to leave my coffee habit without suffer the lack of caffeine.
It gives me a boost of energy, and don't leave the bitter taste in my mouth.
