This is the first time I have had this tea and found it a little weak. I followed the instructions on the package which said to brew it at 175 for 45-60 seconds, then I logged into Teavana's website and it says to brew it for 1.5-2 minutes so the next time I brew it I will try brewing it for this longer length of time. Don't understand why the package instructions and the website don't match.

Comments about Teavana Dragonwell Green Tea:
I got this tea in the "Tea Lovers Tea Gift Collection" and I'm very satisfied with it. It's my favorite tea out of the four. Its very smooth-so much so that it almost tastes creamy. It's delicious. Well worth buying.

Comments about Teavana Dragonwell Green Tea:
The Dragonwell tea was my first tea purchased by Teavana, and compared to the Sencha and Gyroruko, this one is my favorite. The steep is weaker and less vegetal, but it is incredibly smooth. Exceptional with white gold honey. Good for two steeps.

Comments about Teavana Dragonwell Green Tea:
I found this in a tea shop in Hong Kong; it smelled amazing and the sample tasting we had was delicious. I picked some up and brewed it for my morning pot. It can NOT be brewed for anything more than 45 seconds to a minute, or the green tastes becomes overpowering and unpleasant. Lightly steeped, it's a wonderful greenish taste that's very pleasing. Also, make sure the water isn't too hot, or it gets scalded and very bitter. Otherwise, a WONDERFUL tea and I can't wait to get home and pick up some more from Teavana!

Comments about Teavana Dragonwell Green Tea:
I love this Dragonwell tea. It has a complex flavor profile not found in many green teas. I find that when I drink another green tea it seems so dull in comparison (even the really expensive ones, like Gyokuro). The flavor is smooth, nutty, with just the right amount of vegetal character. It lacks the astringency seen in some other stronger-flavored green teas. Be sure not to over-brew. Second infusions are still good.

Comments about Teavana Dragonwell Green Tea:
I usually pick two teas to buy each time my Teavana stash runs out. I like at least one of them being a type I haven't tried before, as well as one of them being a green tea. I was tempted to go for some of the other green teas I had already tried in the past and loved, but I decided to be adventurous. I ultimately chose Dragonwell; its name reminded me of my favorite, Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls, and it was around the same price. So naturally, I assumed it would be similar. It also received a high score of about 4.5 out of 5 as its ratings average. I was convinced it would be a fantastic tea, and perhaps even on par with JDPP.
When the tea was still in its bag, I took a whiff to see what it smelled like. Surprisingly, it had no noticeable aroma whatsoever. I was even more disappointed when I brewed some; I could barely even taste anything aside from the hot water! It was very weak, and probably the weakest tea I had ever tasted. I decided to do some research online to see why everyone else thought it was so great, so I went to the reviews section to look at what people were saying.
I came across one very helpful review that mentioned that the brewing instructions on the bag's sticker contradicted the directions on the site; the sticker says to brew for 45-60 seconds, whereas the site suggests 2 minutes. I tried to brew it for 2 minutes the following time, and it tasted a little stronger, but not by much. The time after that, I boiled the water for a longer period of time, and it got a little stronger again. Finally (and perhaps most importantly), I realized that I may not have been using enough tea; DW's leaves are long, and they don't fit into my main measuring spoon in the same way smaller tea leaves would (the one I usually use is deep but not wide). Fortunately, I found a flat measuring spoon and was able to ensure the proper amount of leaves were being used.
So after brewing for 2 minutes, making the water hotter and using a different measuring spoon, I finally managed to make a much more flavorful cup of Dragonwell tea. It's still more mild than what I'm used to, but I enjoy how soothing it is. Additionally, the dry leaves also have an aroma now that they've been in my tea tin for a while (not that this matters, but it's something interesting that I noticed).
Don't be afraid to be "rough" with this tea! Unlike other green teas, this one can benefit from extra brewing time. Follow Teavana's online directions, not the ones on the bag!

Comments about Teavana Dragonwell Green Tea:
This was my first experience with the Tevana products and I must say it was an excellent choice, given to me as a birthday gift recently, along with the two cup set Tricolor Teapot set. I can't wait to try some more of your teas.
