Blending Teas

Tea blending is the creative experience of mixing more than one type of tea together for a unique taste, aroma or health benefit. If you happen to be able to visit one of our many Teavana stores across the country you will get to experience tea blending "face to face" as our Teaologists can recommend mixing certain teas together for added health benefits or boosting the complexity of the taste. Online it is hard to get an idea of which tea tastes and smells complement each other, so we have added a few suggestions below.

Certain teas like our Sweet Fruit Garden herbal tea (a blend of fruits with rosehips & hibiscus) taste even better with the addition of Rooibos Peach tea or Rooibos Orange tea (and it adds antioxidant properties, antispasmodic effects, and allergen reducing benefits). And even with the addition of the Rooibos to the other blends the mix still remains caffeine free!

To aid in your blending selections pick tea combinations based on the ingredients as you would do for cooking. While herbal teas are the easiest to work with since they will not over brew, you can get adventurous with your blending by using green and white teas, just be more mindful to the quantities used to brew, the temperature of the water, and the time used to steep the tea.
