How to Store Tea

Protect your investment (and your palate) by storing your fine tea in the proper manner. Tea needs to be kept away from heat, light, air, and moisture. (Tea is not coffee and you cannot wrap it up and put it in the freezer. Store your teas at room temperature.) Tea will lose its flavor and scent quickly if stored in a fancy purely decorative container or kept near a heat source, such as a stove or next to the toaster in your kitchen.

Although our tea is very beautiful please also resist the urge to store the teas in glass containers for display on your counter. Teavana carries several sizes of our airtight double walled stainless steel tea tins that should keep your teas fresh for up to a year.

	Tea Storage Teavana Perfect Tea Tins: Our tea tins are designed to keep your teas fresh and delicious. And they are available in three sizes to fit your needs. For 2oz of tea, our Small Tea Tins work perfectly. Our medium tin will hold up to 6 ounces of most of our teas, while the large tin will hold up to 9 ounces of most of our teas (With less dense teas the tins will hold an average of 3 ounces, and with the more dense teas the tins will hold an average of 12 ounces). For example: Large tin of Peppermint will hold 3 to 4 ounces. Large tin of Jasmine Pearls will hold 12 ounces.
	Origami Tea Tins: Our origami tins feature a unique paper finish for a distinctive look. And they will also keep your teas fresh for up to a year. These small (3oz) and large (8oz) tin canisters include a plastic cap to seal the tea. Because they are randomly designed, we can't promise a specific color or style. But we will pick the perfect tin for you!
	Teavana Tea Chests: This handsome wood tea chest is available in two colors: Mappa Burl wood and Red Tulip wood.
