Kuro Yuzu Uroko Arare Artisan Tetsubin

Our artisan tetsubin is the highest form of cast iron craftsmanship. This teapot was inspired by the scales on fish. Featuring arare, which are small bumps closely together, this teapot looks like it is covered in triangular scales. This makes for a wonderful conversation piece! Large teapot holds 44oz or 1.3 liters of water.
 
Handcast and hand finished by a true artist, each of these artisan japanese cast iron teapots takes months to create. They are larger than most tetsubin and are made in the Japanese tradition: they do not have a porcelain lining or infuser baskets. As you steep teas in your teapot, a build up of tea residue will coat the inside of the pot. Simply allow your tetsubin to air dry after each use. Every artisan tetsubin that we offer has the artist's chop mark somewhere on the body of the teapot.
